I never mentioned tolerating bad behavior. The lack of being able to tolerate someone
usually causes this kind of behavior. Let me stress I'm not a peace freak. I know the world
will never get along. If I can eliminate the hate from my world then that's all I really care about.
I didn't mean to cause anger with this post.
Why is this an issue today? I tolerate a whole bunch of stuff. But if you think I will tollerate someone calling me names like "whore" etc, you are dead wrong. I will not. I also will not tollerate someone using abusive language and connotations towards my friends, speaking demeaning to someone, nor insulting this entire board. That aside, I'm tollerant.

My favorite word is tolerance. I believe it to be the key to peace.
If we could all tolerate one another the world would be such a happier place.
I hate blacks.
I hate muslims.
I hate gays.
I hate whitey.
I hate anything other than metal.
I hate... etc. etc.
(now try this)
I can tolerate blacks.
I can tolerate muslims.
I can tolerate gays.
I can tolerate whitey.
I can tolerate all forms of music.
I can tolerate... etc. etc.
When you say it the second way the hate goes away.
Try it. Even practice it. You'll be better for it.
PEACE!

Yes, life is VERY short my friend. Can't take it for granted.
Yeah he didn't take care of himself thats for sure, and yeah I think that with all the danger and lifestyle these guys endure on a daily basis they get caught up with that instead of thinking about thier personal health. Phil was my favorite member too,he was hard core and there was something about his personality that was interesting to watch. Life is shorter than we think and thats why I want a new album by Judas Priest!!!!!

The guy was your classic "old salt". Refused to change his ways and thought he was invincible. I suppose it would be easy to feel that way if one spent so much time in the Bearing Sea doing what these guys do. 40-50 foot waves, winds at or near hurricane speed, danger and injury part of everyday life. I guess there comes a point where you have survived so much danger you think you cannot die?
Most everyone that I know likes captain Sig on the Northwestern. The Princess does. He's cool but I always felt a connection with Phil Harris. I have no idea why, other than I do not take proper care of myself, either! HA!!!!!!!! I don't drink or smoke but that doesn't guarantee anything. Anyway, I will miss the guy.
