That is terrible news Freeze,I have seen the show a few different times. I saw one episode where he was tossed across his room from waves or something and he got the wind knocked out of him,but I think it was a punctured lung or something of the sort...and the first thing he did was light up a smoke and while the smoke was hanging out of his mouth he was complaining that he couldn't breathe!!! lol!! But none the less,r.i.p. to captain Phil. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Wednesday, February 10, 2010 11:59:20 AM)

No. He was not married. You are thinking of captain Rick or perhaps the guy with the Norwegian wife. They both had wives on their boats. Phil had his sons, Josh and Jake ,on the boat.

That is sad news DF, we get that show here too and I really enjoy it. Didn't his wife also work on the boat with him?

Not sure how many of you follow the television show "Deadliest Catch" but captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie has passed away. Could not get much information just yet but, apparently, he suffered a massive stroke last month and died yesterday.
I am a fan of the show and feel a sense of loss. Those that are familiar with this program will recall that Harris lived a pretty unhealthy life. He chain smoked, did not eat properly and was under tremendous stress. His sons work on the boat with him and it was a "family" business catching crab. I always considered Harris my "favorite" on the show. He was quite a character. I am pretty sure he was almost my age but I would like to believe I look a bit better than he did...HA!!!!!!
A sad day for Discovery Channel and us fans. R.I.P. Phil.
