I disagree, Dio's voice was stronger later in his life than when he was younger. I saw him a few months before his passing and was awe struck at that mans incredible vocals. More power and intensity then I could ever believe. I've heard rumors that maybe it was RJD's lack of drug intake that kept his voice so strong. I remember an interveiw with Tony Iommi, saying he was the only singer he ever knew who never needed to warm up his vocals.

| Man piss on everyone who rips on Maiden. Sure they've gotten all stuck up
with their music, the songs of the new album got stale the second time u heard them,
and they're pretty much pulling what people claim ac/dc did with back in black. Brave New
world would be their BIB album. Fact is though they're still around after 30 years. Still playing
HEAVY METAL(albeit they're own new wave of repatative preachy god worshipping metal)
But hey still got Bruce and Harris and Murray and mcbrain. At least they're still putting out long
talented songs. Cool guitar solos, even though ya the turn from devil inspired songs to Jesus inspired
songs is really really lame....
Fuck it i've got floor tickets for the show this Thursday!!!

| While I agree that Rhoads was ozzys greatest guitar player I don't agree
with everyone who bashes every post-rhoads ozzy album. I liked Jake E Lee,
and zakk wylde is one of my favourite guitarists. Everyone rips on ozzy, for
not being as good as his older stuff, while ozzy kicks the shit out of craptallica and
other metal bands that decieded they needed to alter the basic sound of metal
to be more pop friendly. You can argue that ozzy has sold out, and to a point I would
agree but the fact is ozzy's always had a shredder playing guitar, and he has never
held back on the sound that catches every true heavy metal fans ear. Wicked guitar solos
and heavy riffs. |

| Seriously, I know the last few ozzy albums haven't been the greatest, but
how can Zakk be blamed for that?? I just found this out yesterday apon hearing
the new single. This new guitar player is good, but I really can't see ozzy with
any but wylde now. The only other guitar player that could fit would be iommi, and
who knows if that will ever really take place. |

I just read about this in a random magazine and bought one of their albums and now i want every single one. To those who don't know, the Trans-siberian orchestra rose out of the ashes of SAVATAGE, after the death of their lead guitarist chis olivia, they began it as a tribute to him and his love of orchestrated and technical music.
The album i bought is Night Castle, to those who have never heard the TSO, this is a great album and i highly recommend it. Favourties so far are, "Sparks", The mountian(the original moutain king song) "Night Castle" , "another way you can die" and thats just the first album.(2 disk) my favourtie song on the album is EPIPHANY though, WOW awesome song, warning starts out really slow, kinda below average song until almost exactly half way through, after you hear the word COLISEUM! it fucking rocks!!
Some may complain(hardcores for the death metal and grindcore shit) that this isnt their kind of music, but i honestly love it, it broadens Metal to a much wider audience without making it awful. Some of the most talented music ive ever heard. Something for everyone in this with 5-7 different singers including an extremly talented girl vocalist who sings one of my favourites"father son and holy ghost" To the doubters, Ex- Megadeth guitar player Al petralli ( i cant spell with shit!!) rocks on this album.

| For me, THE SENTINEL! Its the ultimate Priest song next to legends like Painkiller, Sinner and Exciter. Its a really good story and the way its told through the song No songs has such a cool story to it. I cant help but sing to that song. Its also one of the few songs i get stuck in my head even if i havent heard it in awhile. |

| Wow you guys are some hardcore haters! I think you guys have a little
bit of 80's syndome. Not a bad thing if you don't take it so far. The 80's deffinetly was
the greatest metal, hands down, but it was almost 30 years ago. Rhoads is dead, very
sad but true, ozzy will never have another guitar player like him, but for all
the replacements he's chosen I'm glad he's stuck with wylde. One of the most
talented guys to shred the axe. I really like black rain, it's not ozzys best(that'll always be his work with rhoads)but man
the guys a geezer, for Christ sake you can't understand what's he's frickin saying!!
But he's still singing, and damn good for his age. You listen to that whole album
and tell me that not impressive for a guy in his 60's. I hope ozzy puts out another 5 albums
with zak, I'll buy them all. And not having a good album after bark at the moon what
about ozzmosis? Your going to tell me that wasn't a good album? Tomorrow is one of

| Sorry I disagree totally, slayer may have changed the tunning of their
guitars but they've always kept their own style. I know a few people who
agree, don't like anything after seasons. But for me divine intervention
was a very good album. Undisputed addittude sucked ( it was all lame punk
covers except Gemini which is an awesome song) diablous was insane, but god
hates us all IMO is one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time. The entire
album aside from warzone and payback, is unbelievable. Like come on how can u say
the lyrics
"I keep the bible in a pool of blood so that none of it's lies can affect me!!"
is not one of
the most kick ass evil lyrics of all time. That album sealed my rating for slayer
being one of my favourite bands. I'll agree Christ illusion was extremly bad although I
did really like jihad, good song!!
I loved the cover of divine intervention so much I was 100 bucks short from getting
it tattooed on my head when I was 17. If I ever go bald that's what I'm doing!! |

| Ellifsons a wicked bassist, also the only other surviving original member(until recently)
Daves a freakin spazz case that's for sure, kicked everyone out of the damn
band. Just harsh it all came down to money, those two were like brothers, known

| New album, not so good, expected more. Dave is one of my favourite
guitar players but his last 2 albums have really bored me. Endgame has some
good songs but just overall his least greatest work. I think David ellifson was
a big part of the kick ass megadeth sound, although the system has failed was a

After Christ illusion was released I was kinda bummed out thinking
slayer had finally done it. Started to get boring with lackluster songs and
repetative lyrics. Listening to the new album made me think again. World
Painted Blood kicks ass, it's almost up there with god hates us all. Songs
like hate worldwide, human strain and not of this god fucking rule!! They still got it!!

AAAAAaaaaaaaah gotcha, i thought you meant like everytime you go to any doctor. Honestly i don't understand the great hatred for the canadian way of medicine. I've been to the the hospital 3 times in my life for serious shit, once for a day surgery on my ribs, once for a teenage drug overdose( oh those stupid teen years) and the last for some pretty extreme surgery on my arm. Each and everytime i had no problem with anything. I may have waited a couple of hours but that was about it. I guess the complaints come more from seniors with cancer who have to wait a long time or seek medical attention in the states. I'd say our system needs a few fixes but overall id give it an 8 out of ten. Im very happy with our system.

| Well thats honestly what im hoping for, a lot of bad things can be said about america, ironically most of it being in the last 50 years or so. Over throwing governments of foreign nations, instaling dictators and the whole Iraq situation comes to mind. I really think though that most americans are true blue, red and white. Americans have done many, many things to be proud of and to be patrotic about. The greatest in my opinion is your constitution, for being hundreds of years old the founding fathers of yours made a peice of paper that gave people born in that country the freedom to live their lives the way they feel. America was founded on the belief that people, not governments control people's destiny, it may have been a borrowed idea, but it is still one of the greatest to live by. |

Free speech being limited to free speech "Zones" I really would like to know what some people think on this subject. |

Hollywood pisses me off, i saw transformers 2 last night and i have never been so pissed off about a movie in my entire life. I didnt think a person could be so mad about a movie. They completly chewed up a great story and shat out a pile of garbage. When i heard they were keeping the original Optimus Prime I was stolked i couldnt wait to see it. They last one was a very big dissapiontment, so when i heard they were fixing what they went wrong with the first one i thought id give this one a try. i was told that they were going to go back to more of the story and alot more transformers than lovey dovey shit. BS. Meaghan Fox is a horribe horrible HORRIBLE actress, if not the worst. The only reason anyone knows who she is, is for 3 reasons and 3 reasons only. Ass chest and lips thats it. Transformers was my favourite cartoon when i was little i cannot believe they have done this. Transformers could have been the greatest movie ever created but we get this garbage instead. I really hope i meet michael bay one day so i can punch him in the face! |

Priest's was more of a slow and natural move to heavy speed metal, Sabbath was always heavy keeping the same sound over decades and incorporating a slightly different sound to each album. Bands like AC/DC and Motorhead kind of being immune to change, keeping there same sound changing it up just enough to have every album not sound the exact same. Almost all bands had to evolve out of the 80's to survive, i can't think of a single band who stayed glam after the 80's and kept their entire fan base, we have Cobain and Grunge to thank for that. Changing a bands sound can have dire consequences if their fans don't follow along with it, take poison for a big example.
All and all my favourite bands evolution's is still Priest, no other band slowly evolved, still defining a genre of rock while arguably creating their own, known today as Heavy Metal. Although some would argue that was Sabbath's doing more than Priest's. Through adding a much more louder vocalist, and the twin guitar attack, that Metal is now more known for, while giving the world untouchable albums spanning over 4 decades. IMO Sabbath gave us the sound, Priest carved it, stamped it and spread it around the world.

Look i didnt want to offend anyone with this thread, not even Numero"broken-record"uno. I'm not the only one extremly tired of this kid's non stop rants about his hero Tim Owens. And it wouldn't be bad at all if he didn't bring it up every f#@king paragraph he writes on here. He's also working his hardest to push buttons saying when ever he gets the chance that Owens is a better singer then THE METAL GOD!! I was pretty sure this is a Judas Priest website, not an exciter/iced earth/ beyond fear website. I've admitted that Owens can sing, i like a few songs from the "ripper years" (even though i dont consider it JP) I have nothing personal against Owens, he seems like a down to earth good guy, but a Metal God he is not. Period. I'll defend the True Metal God until the last.

Don't know if my facts are correct but these two albums came out at the same time? I have to say personally Stained Class blows away Hell bent for Leather. Although i really like Hell Bent, there are fewer overall insane songs. Stained Class from start to finsh MASTERPEICE. well IMO anyway.

I liked the movie when i first saw it, i'll admit, but i was like 13, and i had never heard of Priest. After i got into Priest i heard the movie was based on them, i watched it again and liked it alot less. My old band wanted to do a cover of a steel dragon song, living the life i think it was.Could find a decent version to download. Thats one thing I'm not trying to say by all of this though. I like Tim Owens, he's a very very talented dude, his work with Iced Earth is good, and his stuff with Priest was pretty good too, its just ya, his high vocals rub me the wrong way, i can't get past them, The Metal God is the only one who can sing the higher stuff to my ears. I'm still trying in vain to get past some harder vocals. I really like Arch enemy's lead singer voice now(took me awhile), she rules. But i still can't get past the dude who sings in Inflames. Both bands have insane guitar players, and kick ass, but the harder vocals usaully rub me the wrong way also.
Another peice of Owens stuff i really liked( except the very begining note) His cover of Mr. Crowley, that was a really cool cover.

IC, i thought he came out after leaving Priest, that movie pissed me off with the way they made Halfrod seem like a sissy. I didnt know that he wasnt allowed to make other music because of his contract though, thanks for the info. I bet Owens little worshipper sure loved that movie though. I always saw Halford leaving the band though, not the other way around.

How about the song off of Sad wings of Destiny? you know the song that Halford invented...... and used his vocal ability to design the way the song would be sung? I have heard enough of Owens singing to last a life time man, and i can't get over the one fact of his voice, to shrill and ear pericing. Halford is still the only singer in my opinion who can pull off the high octaves without it sounding shrill and annoying. Owens voice is very shrill and very annoying when he goes that high. I'm sorry i know you have a pretty big hard on for the guy, you've made that clear for pretty much the entire website, while at the same time coming off as almost a homophobe for ripping on Halford so much. If you honestly got it that bad for Tim owens maybe you should hit up the Tim Owens Noticeboard. oh wait is there even one of those?? well i take it from your name your really only care about one persons opinion.

Eddie called it that Las Vegas sound, im not really sure how to explain it fully, but it was that fun, exciting jump around sound. Sammy hagar's albums were it seemed just more laid back. Not as exciting, David lee roth threw the element of unpredictablity in there, alot more original, IMO.

Most definetly man, it also amazing how a person's prefrence changes. When i first started listening to metal i was all about Pantera and Six feet under. I loved the really growling monster like vocals. Now that's almost 100% changed to singing musically. Ansemlo( i think thats how you spell phils last name) used to be my favourite singer. I still like certian heavy vocals though alot of them i can't stand for some odd reason.

| The fact is though that Owens is a copy. He may not be so much now, but thats how he started. Though he doesnt sound exactly like Halford thats what he was aiming for. Its funny how some people (not very many, but a few) claim that Owens is better than Rob is, and i just laugh my ass off. Take any track that Tim covered of the old Priest with Halford singing. Look for the tracks where Rob stretches out the last line in the song, time how long it goes for. Compare it to the tracks Owens sings on. All the ones ive found Halford goes longer and stronger. I'm sorry, I like Tim owens, he's very talented but Rob Halford will always kick his ass. To much talent for a mortal, that why he is a god! |

I think thats why it gets talked about so much, though the ripper years kept the rest of the band going during Robs absence, it wasnt really priest. When ever i hear those songs from those years no matter how good it was, it was still like listening to a really really good cover band. Very few bands can continue on with as much fan base as they used to after getting a new singer. I know alot of fans just looked the other way after Painkiller, and thats probably why they keep comparing other albums to it. The idea now that there is a Painkiller like song on each new album is even now a give in. AOR- Hellrider, Nostradamus- Nostradamus. Everyone is still wanting that insanly heavy fast painkiller-like sound, even though you look at Priest over the last almost 4 decades and you can't find an album that sounds like the one before it. Iron Maiden is one of my favourite bands, but their sound since Dickinson has come back has been locked in this "new maiden" sound. I still really like the new albums, but each sounds very similar like they've got the one direction they're heading in. Priest has always been all over the place with their sound but always keeping a HEAVY metal twist on it. In other words it still feels like Maiden wants to keep holding on to the Brave New World style they're in while Priest is happy doing what they've always done, breaking borders.

Painkiller should have came after Defenders and they could have skipped over Turbo and RID...but history is what it is. Painkiller, from 1984 to 2005 is the only great Priest effort (IMO), and that is why it gets the attention it does. |

| That statement rings true, DLR is Van Halen. He made up their original sound, and added his own flamboyent presence to the picture. I like Hagar, i think he's got an insane voice, but he doesnt have the right sound for VH. I really wanted to see Chicken foot when they came through town, more for Satch then anything though. |

I'm sorry, but i disagree. Ripper didn't or doesn't sound like Halford when he was younger. Halfords scream( when he was younger) was alot more higher and alot more musical. He could switch it up and make it completly jive with the music. Owens's scream always has that same shrill sound to it. I'm not trying to rip on Tim, he is a very talented guy, but Rob was and is untouchable. Halfords scream could go one forever and you were amazed, Owens i honestly was never that impressed with his screams, i wanted to cover my ears.

| For me its Nostradamus all the way. I'm not that big a fan of Turbo. I really love Reckless, Out in the cold, locked in and the title track, but the rest of the album just well isn't that great for me. Nostradamus is kick ass from start to finish. A little slow in some parts, a little opera-ee in others, but songs like Death, sands of time, pestilence and plague, exhile and Alone, and not to metnion the title track again blow Turbo away!! |

Thats why I guarantee you that no matter how harsh the punishment is, people will still commit crimes. Look at how harsh punishments are in Iran. Does it mean that they dont have crime? Or how harsh punishments are in your country, and it still has a crime rate way higher than Europe, where punishments are a lot less severe. What this tells is that people wont be intimidated into submission, and that is as it should be.
There is another reason why I touched on the issue of what good does capital punishment do. As I said, you gain nothing from killing a convict. Only a corpse. You can leave him alive and make him work, so at least he can serve of the material part of his debt. Thats not an ideal or an illusion. It can be done, if there is will for it.

Punishment is to hold a person accountable for their actions as well as keep order, it's two-fold...there are plenty of guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to fill our prisons, no shortage in that department...I wish it wouldn't come to this in the first place, but it's an imperfect system in an imperfect world Strat...but it's the best we've got...especially in a country with a Constitutional Right to bear arms...

The thing about killing a convict is first of all that it only serves to appease the public. He killed = he was killed. But thats all. Besides that, death penalty doesnt serve anything at all. A couple of years ago we had a case, where a man was released from prison. He was charged with murder, and already served of some 20 years (I think), when new evidence came to light, and shown that he was innocent. Sure, he lost 20 years in prison, and that is terrible. But, if he was sentenced to death, what then? |

Well i guess i should have called it The 2 bands that have kept to the same sound and have stayed alive doing it. So many other bands had to change to make it out of the eighties. Few did it, well without out drastically changing their sound. I still feel AC/DC is just rock, to me, id say stuff like pearl jam and godsmack and that kind of stuff is hard rock. AC/DC just plain rock! What other band has really survived the death of a lead singer especially one as insanley talented as Bon Scott. They did it though, and they're the biggest rock band in the world

Motorhead is the worlds loudest band. So now doubt they're one band that always first comes to my mind when thinking about true heavy metal.

Seriously who can argue that AC/DC has pretty much kept true rock alive into the 21st century. Every album they put out kicks ass, and they have kept their distinct sound for decades. Along with Motorhead, keeping the same heavy sound and rawness that helped create a legend all their own. Lemmy is a heavy metal god hands down.

| I really think Halford is a better vocalist then Dickinson. Bruce has power, he has passion, he's one kick ass singer but Halford is just much more passionate, and diverse a singer. I think its kind of odd how i pefer though the music of Dickinson's solo stuff, seems he hooked up with extremly talented musicans while Halford chose to go with more plain sounding heavier musicans. Rob also is... well i feel a much better writer then Bruce, Dickinson's stuff cool but lacking. |

To be honest man, I actually bought the album(hear comes the garbage slinging from every hater on the site) I actually really like the album. It shouldnt be called a GNR album because the only thing that even slightly sounds like the original GNR is Axl's dieing vocals, and repetative ryhming and goofy lyrics. Music wise i think its a kick ass album, thanks to buckethead. Some how i think Axl probably got down on his knees and begged him to stay in the band. I wouldnt have bought it if he wasnt the main guitar player on it. Comparing it to Nostradamus is a joke though, no matter what anyone says Nostradamus is Metal, it may be slightly altered Metal through different songs, but still dominatly Heavy Metal. Chinese Democracy is some extremly mutated rock album.

Thats what i'd like to know aswell. Judas Priest is Rob Halford, as Rob Halford is Judas Priest. No one on the face of the planet will ever, ever sound exactly like Rob Halford. But there always be ones who try. The period where he became singer for Priest he had a pretty powerful voice, but he had 3 decades that really affected the way his voice sounded. Each album he altered his sound to meet what that specific album achieved. I can't think of single other vocalist that has achieved such an enormous drastic change that slowly evolved into what has become known as the Metal God. Owens will always sadly live in the shadow of Rob Halford.

Bah, shake your little finger all you want, I'm entitled to my opinion just like everyone else is on here. I don't care for Owens as a vocalist, i'll say he makes good use of what talent he has. For me everytime i hear him singing, in Beyond Fear, Priest or Iced Earth, he always sounds like the most successful rip off of Halford there ever was. So many bands in the 80's went for the Halford esq vocals that it was annoying. Rob is the only one (IN MY OPINION!......YES OPINION...YOU NO THAT LITTLE THING THAT EVERYONE HAS?) who can pull off the high octave voice. | Ok I couldnt really have an opinion about Owens, only really heard Burn in Hell and i thought it was pretty decent. I just downloaded a few songs from Jugulator, i can't believe that its really Judas Priest. The music itself is pretty good but sounds....well not priest, like they were trying to hard to be something else. The lyrics are so unbelievably bad(almost as bad as my spelling) I still stick with the belief that they should have changed the name of the band, just like maiden should have. Its like the argument about GNR. I'll stick by the fact that owens can sing, but being a clone though (even if he's slightly modified his voice) is not worth listening to.Halford was and always will be irreplaceable. |

Fight and Halford are tied for me, i can't choose, they both rule. Fights so heavy, Rob, for the first time really showing his heavy HEAVY metal sound. Probably pissed off at the issues of his Priest departure. I really like the heavy vocals behind Halfords voice. At the same time though his voice can still blows your mind by itself in the Halford and Judas Priest albums. Fight was just so raw, and unbarred compared to anything in Priest before, well guess and after he rejoined in 2004. Maybe he'll blow us away in the next album. |

you know ive been thinking about this. This whole story of GNR is just like megadeth. Almost without the out right lay claiming to the name of the band. Megadeth went through the same thing. Elifson was booted out of the band because he had asked Mustaine for a larger profit, not even negotaited or anything just kicked him out. Right after an awesome album, for me The World needs a hero brought back the kick ass Megadeth from the middle period, late 80's earluy 90's. The newer albums are ok, but they're missing. The System has Failed was good, but just not right. Don't really care for the new album, its heavy and fast but empty i dont know, still think its David Elifson missing.
The whole story of how Elifson joined the band was one of the best stories of a metal band coming together. Living underneath Dave Mustaine playing Running with the Devil base line early in the morning waking him up, and then throwing a flower vase from what i remember on his air conditioner. pretty funny. I dont know that just seems like a lot of parrallel's. I still think Dave should change the name from Megadeth to something else. Doesnt feel like Megadeth anymore. |

Thats awesome DF, was it the second movie or the first? I really thought the second one was way more cool then the first. Well i guess thats one thing i would have to disagree with you on, i do pretty well for myself and I would give it all away for a chance at moving the human race ahead. A resource based economy could be possible, it would be extremly hard to get it off the ground. Money should not own people, and it does no one can deny that. With this recession coming up here, going to be supposedly, one of the biggest in history, at a time when we are the most technologically adavanced we've ever been. We have the technology for everyone on this planet to eat, have a home and live to be 100. Money and greed are the only reasons its not.
I dont know the second movie just really pisses you off as well as opens your eyes to what could be. We create laws because we can't sovle our problems. I believe the first film is very much conspiracy theories, the only thing i found intresting was the first half. The second movie is all about money and the monetary system. If you watched the first one, or well 3/4. Forget the last quater( even though the ending was pretty cool) Watch the second one. Thats the movie i wanted your opinion on. Its not anything to do with conspiracy crap. It actually highlights a really out there project called the venus project. Their goal being to drastically change our lives through technology. Insane stuff. WATCH IT!!!!!!

GD I know your dislike of that fag Axl, and i totally agree with you man, he's a peice of shit. But i guess ive been trying to be a better singer over the last few years and i just respect people with powerful voices. no matter how much a peice of shit the little wuss bag is, i still stay he has a very strong voice, even on his new title track, and my ears cant deny. So even though i wouldnt piss on the asshole if he were on fire, he can still wail. Believe me when the day comes when he gets whats coming to him, ill laugh till my stomach hurts. I respect a really wide range of singers though, Roy Orbinson was an extremly insane vocalist in my opinion. I tend to like vocalists who can pump it out the most.Thats why i got into priest. I've just heard of a band when visting my home town. The singer is probably one of the most insane vocalists ive ever heard. If you wanna hear off the wall vocals this band is it. He's almost on par with Rob on power. He does extremly low gutural and high halfordesque type vocals, blows the mind. I guess its all to ones prefrences though.

| Heard the single on the radio last night, the DJ said after all these years its finally happened the album is released, Guns N Rose's Chinese Democracy. Wasnt that thrilled by the song, it was good but wasnt that good for an album that took 10 years to make. I'll give the album a chance though, may not buy but ill give it a chance. |

First listening to the album Exhiled and Alone were the two songs that stuck out above all, probably the rough patch i was going through then, but Alone just seemed to be speaking for all of us. BC The most beautiful place in the world, seriously not joking. And i cant really agree to it because i havent been off of the North American continent, so i couldnt say. I lived in Grande Praire for a few months, and the scenery seriously bummed me out, but hey it is the richest province in Canada, but we're the richest in .... umm aaaa well... pot....hahahaha thats something to be proud of i guess. I was was born in BC and i like it so, like i said to each there own. I really want to check out New Zeland through, ive heard its a really beautiful place. |

| I have to agree with jimmy james here. I can say alot about Axl Rose, like how he's one of the biggest assholes in the music biz, if not the biggest. He's a dirty peace of shit more for the way he treats people, and fans, and the people who are supposed to be close to him. The guy thinks he's the center of the universe, but whatever, there are alot of people in the world who think like that. Really it was the rest of the bands fault for being pussies and giving into the asshole, and if he was going to quit then they should have said go ahead, he probably would have given up and just went along with them. If they wouldnt have just gave in, the band may have still dispanded but Rose would have had to make a new band. Really everyone played a part. I used to think Axl was a very talented guy, but latly his voice has really been annoying me, and even the classic GNR has gone down in my books just because of his voice. So i think he'll get what he deserves in the end.maybe the stupid album will come out, but you watch it'll have taken so long, not that many people will even care. Unless buckethead is really still going to be in the band, then sadly ill have to pay some attention. |

| It seems thats what alot of people are doing is comparing this album to previous albums. What people arent getting is that Priest will never put out another Sad wings of Destiny, Screaming for Vengence or Painkiller. Judas Priest have always searched for a new sound with each album, and over the decades they've gotten heavier and heavier. Now adays bands are pushing to be the most hardcore heavy they can possibly be, and trying to out due the hardcore from other bands and its really gotten lame. Priest has come along way from the late 60's through 70's to really defining what the true "metal' sound was. Blasting through the 80's at BREAK NECK speed, to well sadly crash in the early 90's.Judas Priest continued without the Priest in my opinion until 2004 when he unearthed his throne. Priest has taken metal everywhere, and for a change they wanted to do something big, huge and very musical. Like how Craptallica did the orchestra shit, but Priest did it balls out. Sure alot of the album is slow and balladful, but that was what the album was about, a dude's life. Love, life and death. I honestly think the next album will return to the Heavier sound once again, but they chose to explore through a concept album. And id definetly see this in a concert if i had the chance! |

| Ok im pissed off, i know alot of people love Craigslist and thinks it the best thing since the newspaper, but its fucking bullshit. I just spent the last week trying to get Metallica tickets for my gf ( her favourite band, i wouldnt go if you paid me) The fucking thing sold out on the first day tickets go on sale at the ticketmaster shops. Wouldnt you know it though, you go look on craigslist and look for tickets and theres just tonnes of assholes who bought up all the floor tickets, so they can sell them for hundreds of dollars. The floor tickets for this show were 95bucks. The fucking fucking assholes are asking 150-300 for a single ticket. Fucking basterds!!! |

| I think he's realized it has affected his voice. When Priest played here, and they were doing Painkiller, Rob couldnt hit the end "PAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAARRR!!" See this is something i really wanted to talk about,Ive heard alot of people voice there opinion on the new album and i was really suprised to hear negative things about it. Some going as far to say that the new album is not metal. Not Metal? what the hell, how can you say that this album is not Metal, sure that alot of mellower sounding songs, they're not all out balls out hardcore heavy metal songs like the title track, but that was the concept they chose to sing about. Nostradumas couldnt have had that exciting of a life he was just a fortune teller. I think the title track well for me is very reminiscent of painkiller( not as brutal, or as insane an ending) For someone to say that Judas Priest one of the few God fathers of Heavy metal have shied away from the sound that they helped create is i think pretty ignorant. A big example would be point of entry.I bet when that album came out alot of fans were disappointed, i sure was when i bought it, it grew on me after awhile but comparing that album to the one before would have been kind of the same situation. British Steel compared to point of entry? I'm sorry but there's no contest there for me. British steel is one of the all time greatest Metal masterpeices of all time, point of entry well im not sure where that would fit in. The lyrics on that album were extremely disappointing compared to the previous album, and i wonder if alot of fans were saying the same thing back in what was it 81? I wouldnt know personally because it was four years before i was born. To the non believers of Nostradumas, well thats your opinion, but dont go saying that because this album isnt heavy metal to you that the band wont continue to make the music that they themselves helped define. Halford, Tipton and Downing have molten Heavy Metal flowing through there veins, for me the new album is a wicked example.
I wonder if those bitching about the new album consider Rocka rolla a Heavy Metal album? That was about as Mellow in points as Nostradumas without the insanley heavy main title track.

| Alright this was really messed up, I never really believed or even really heard anysongs played backwards.I dont really think it had anything to do with the situation, but it sure seemed strange. I was sitting at work with my supervisor after our shift, its like 2 in the morning and i'm showing him some Halfod and Arch enemy videos on youtube. He tells me about Stairway to heaven backwards and it shows you the lyrics written out while playing it backwards. So he plays the video and i gotta admit for some of it sounding retarded and not making sense, alot of it really said some fucked up shit, about like Satan and stuff...very strange almost really sound like what he's saying, or maybe just a little like the words but in truth not even close i dont know. But anyway, it says some stuff and then it says 666, not even joking the next sentence and the power goes out. The generator lights turn on and my supervisor, grabs my arm scared and pissing his pants says not to go anywhere, we eventually left after he swore he heard footsteps above us, when we knew there was no one in the building but us. We find out the whole block was out of power. Anyone else have any messed up stories about backward lyrics in songs. I've heard of many different bands that supposedly have messages in the songs when played backwards, thats the only one ive ever actually heard besides slayer's " su nioj" at the begining of Hell awaits. Anyone hear of any others? |

| I dont know man, ive just never been to big a fan of the crew. They were more of a hair band that tried to hard to look like girls. I'll say they had a lot of good songs, and they are talente, but i really hate tommy lee, he's such a fag. The show they held in my home town, i read in the paper that tommy lee was swearing at some chick on stage because she wouldnt show him her tits. Her boyfriend was getting pissed off because he just wouldnt drop it and was calling her a stupid slut because she would flash him. He finally told tommy lee to shut up and then lee, threatened to come kick his ass. Like what the hell is that about? Thats not metal man thats bullshit. the little respect i had for the band went out the window. For me seeing Eddie live for the first time, ripping up Eruption, was just amazing, and singing to all the first album, and one of the only bands besides Maiden that came out and did an insane encore. Priest didnt even play an encore. |

Funny how that works sometimes.... you get stoned and or drunk and sometimes the music becomes alot more emotional. I smoked and a joint and listened to exhile and it just blows me away. Really fits for my period in my life right now though.

| Buddy i totally know what your going through, im kind of trapped on the second album, and its alot more in my opinion, well depressing( at the beggining) i kind of just feel overwhelmed. Same exact thing happened to me, certain songs bring it on, my advice, just stick to the heavy ones for now. That what ive been doing. I've made my self listen to those songs that made me feel that way and forced myself to think of another theme to it. |

Man this album is almost to hard to describe everyrthing so kick ass about it. Its really an awesome look how Priest has adapted through the decades, but can dig back into its roots for a sound. This album really is an emtional album, its all about a dudes life, right. Don't see why there are some people really against it. I think it's a really unique idea, even if i dont really have to much respect for the character the albums about.

| Very very kick ass, mind you hadnt been on the floor in a concert since Megadeth's gigantour in 2005, and man did i ever feel the difference, fighting to stay at the front was extremly difficult this time. I was sure beat up after the show. some real angry fans too, taking the mosh pit serious and getting pissed off. people need to just chill and enjoy the show. My only complaint about the show was they only played two songs off the new album, neither of the ones i wanted to hear either. But still a very very kick ass show. |

Man, totally agree, the whole album being just one theme, pretty one one swaying emtional mood. Its fucked up how good it really is. So amazingly good. Automatically a favourite. I was too very blown away. Awesome, sadly didnt play enough of it at the show tonight though. Only 2 songs.

| I agree but at the same time, man Heaven and hell, though corny in some spots, is one of greatest albums of all time. Just so kick ass, thats one thing i have to say Ozzy is the fucking man, no one will ever take away how kick ass he is, but Dio is well... just way way better of a singer. The only singer that hasnt stressed his voice over the years and is actually better then he used to be. Black sabbath can never deny Ozzy though, and if a new album came out, id like to see ozzy do it. Although it would be pretty kick ass, if they both did it! |
