Please excuse my ignorance, but without knowledge of your circumstance, this doesn't make a lot of sense. There are very few instances where the person being punished is truly ignorant of why they are in the wrong. In those cases when this is true, I agree that it is a diabolical injustice. your right that its hard on the guy being on death row for 20 years. oh well. I agree kill them quickly out of compassion for the victims familys. Punishment seems to have taken a back seat in all criminal matters to rehabilitation, and the idea that the criminal is a victim. thats crap. the criminal is a criminal, if he dad wouldnt let him skateboard as a kid, or he had a job, got spanked, whatever, he is now a criminal, too damn bad.

Well said by both of you! My motto.. eye for an eye ! Death penalty inmates should be limited to a 5 year appeal process after which, if nothing has changed, the sentence would be carried out within 48 hours after the 5th year conviction date! No need for extra costs to the state and anguish to the families.
EYE for an EYE ! Let the higher power sort it out!
