I hate it when people get annoyed at you for liking a band that isn't metal and then they're like 'you're not a proper metal head you suck'... who cares. People can like what they want... does anyone agree/ disagree?

HB - THANK YOU FOR THAT ADVICE. AND THANK YOU FOR THE ANALOGY.  IT DID MAKE ME LAUGH AND PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE.

  I LIKE THIS LITTLE GUY

asking mutual friends for advice related to the mariage is a worse idea than pissing on an electric fence

Hi Udo,

I just wanted to say Hi and by your posts you look like a nice guy. There are so many wonderful people on this board and I hope you get to meet as many nice fellow Priest fans like I have in my time here

Helloooo Scorpion!! How you? I haven't spoken to you in ages and I hope you're well.

I'm sure it will. Sometimes speaking to poeple with no emotional ties is helpful. Most of our friends are mutual and it is awkward and unfair to them to ask for advice.

Heavy Metal always gives me strength, too. It's like an injection.

Wow, I see you really have hard times at work. I just hope everything works out fine and your effort is appreciated.

Your wife asks herself if she's a single parent because you work your ass off to feed her needs. sure why not!

But if she worked half-time (like already mentioned) while your kids are at school and you are at work then you could be more at home when your whole family is at home, too....

Call mathematics of Life, if you please.

UDO - THATS EXACTLY WHAT I TRY TO TELL HER. BUT AS MY JOB HAS BECOME MORE DEMANDING SHE DOESN'T WANT IT TO EFFECT OR INCONVENIENCE ANY OF HER ROUTINES. SEVERAL TIMES SHE HAD MADE THE COMMENT TO ME - WHAT AM I A SINGLE PARENT?  I'D LIKE TO BE HOME MORE, BUT I NEED TO DO WHAT I HAVE TO TO KEEP MY JOB.  I'M AN ACCOUNTANT FOR A COMPANY THAT JUST CAME OUT OF BANKRUPTCY AND IS TRYING TO GO PUBLIC IN 2009. HALF OF OUR STAFF HAD BEEN LET GO AND WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF BUDGETS THE THIRD QUARTER REVIEWS AND BEGINNING TO PREPARE FOR THE YEAR END AUDIT.  I NEED TO KEEP UP IF I WANT TO KEEP MY JOB. IT'S VERY STRESSFUL.

MUSIC AND GOING TO THE GYM RELAX ME AND IT SEEMS LIKE THOSE ARE THE THINGS I AM FINDING TIME FOR.

ON TOP OF IT THE GYM I GO TO JUST WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND THE NEW ONE I SIGNED UP FOR IS 20 MINUTES FURTHER EACH WAY FROM MY HOUSE, AND TWICE THE PRICE.

HB -  YOU ARE ALSO CORRECT - I SACRIFICE GOING TO METS OR ISLANDERS GAMES TO MAKE SURE THE KIDS HAVE WHAT THEY NEED, BUT MY WIFE JUST KEEPS PUTTING ON THE CREDIT CARD RELYING THAT I'LL FIND A WAY TO PAY FOR IT THE WAY I HAVE IN THE PAST. TIMES ARE DIFFERENT.

I NEED SOME PRIEST.

Udo, your right, everyone has to ensure that they set the stage for a happy person on the other end.  if I force my wife to work all the time, then I set the stage for her being unhappy, therefore I will be unhappy.   same works in reverse.  I agree, a part time job while the kids are in school is not terible. having a couple of bucks to go out to a movie might make everyone happier.

That sounds pretty heavy.

Can't your wife try to support you while the kids are in school?

Living up to your responibilities is what every man has to do but getting killed while others just sit there and watch isn't right in my opinion.

Everyone has the right to be happy but everyone also has a responibility towards himself of achieving it - somehow.

If I'm not happy I won't be able to make anyone else happy neither...

Udo

DP, I KNOW YOU ARE RIGHT, BUT I SEE IT AS LESS TIME I HAVE WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS.  I KNOW I AM PROBABLY BEING A LITTLE MOODY AND OVER TIRED, IT JUST SEEMS LATELY THAT I'VE BEEN WORKING HARDER AND CHASING MY TAIL AND GOING BACKWARDS.

I PROBABLY NEED A LITTLE SUPPORT FROM SOMEWHERE AND IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO WHERE TO TURN.

THE KIDS I CAN SEE NOT UNDERSTANDING. I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO DO AS MUCH FOR THEM AS I USED TO. WE HAVEN'T SEEN AN INCREASE IN PAY IN 5 YEARS AND I'M ALWAYS TIRED WHEN I GET HOME AND DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING MUCH.

LAST WEEK I MENTIONED TO MY WIFE THAT I MIGHT LOOK FOR A SECOND JOB TO HELP FNANCIALLY, SHE DOESNT WORK, SHE SPENDS ALL DAY HOME WHILE THE KIDS ARE IN SCHOOL. SHE TOLD MY WHY SO YOU CAN BE MORE DEPRESSING TO BE AROUND. I TRY MY HARDEST TO LIVE UP TO ALL MY RESPONCIBILITIES I JUST FEEL LIKE THERE IS NOT TIME FOR ME TO ENJOY ANYTHING.

I GUESS I SHOULD COMPLAIN. I HAVE A JOB AND IT ALMOST PAYS THE BILLS. LATELY I JUST WISH THERE WAS A LITTLE MORE.  I CAN GO ON FOREVER BUT I GUESS IT WILL GET ME NOWHERE.

I DO APPRECIATE THE ADVICE.

AT TIMES LIKE THIS IN THE OLD OFFICE I USED TO PUT ON SOME MUSIC. CANT EVEN DO THAT ANY MORE.

My friend, I know this is going to sound odd but cherish every minute of your time commuting AND being in your office. You cannot possibly imagine what it is like when they are gone!!

I see--I'm not a big Doplhin's fan so I didn't know he quit

and they don't usually televise Pitt Panther's games where I live but I do get to see Pen State every time they play --Penn State is so great this year & Pitt is flailing

That's OK...as you can see, you didn't miss much...apart from all the filth that went on here, I got caught up on my laundry...the down side was missing phone calls as I had to run up stairs and couldn't get it in time...you must be feeling good about those Phillies though...and I was hoping the Steelers could pull it off as well...however, I have a bone to pick with Dave Wanstedt...his PITT team cost me!!!
