Much Agreed, one might even say Ozzy's solo carrer is somewhat overrated because of the hits he had on his first couple albums. Dio keeps on crankin em out. as Ozzy should stop. i hear rumors hes going to put out 3 more albums...ugh, ill buy them tho. lol [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Saturday, August 08, 2009 3:27:58 AM) | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | I say "DIO". Because I am "SICK TO DEATH" of "Ozzy". It may not be his fault but I can't stand him these days...I like his old shit with Black Sabbath
and his first 3 albums.."Blizzard Of Oz"...."Diary Of A Madman"....."Bark At The Moon"...but anything after that especially nowadays...I just can't take it.
I feel Ozzy should of retired after the 1988 "No Rest For The Wicked" album....that album had a couple of cool songs on it at least.......but I still think
he should of wrapped it up after 1988. |

Rage,Rage Against of the Dying of the Light /Aanal Nathrakh
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray
Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Heres a song that is guaranteed to make everyone happy.
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...
Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life

okay guys i couldnt come on yesterday because internet was down and i left at 11:00 to hang with alison and anthony, but then we left for cleveland and i couldnt stop smiling.
all i can say about the show is Holy Fucking Shit. I had the time f my life, ears are stll ringing. Whitesnake was okay, i only like doug aldrich because hes great and did good work on Holy Diver Live. But then they put up the British Steel factory hang down thingy and chills went up and down my spine. Rapid fire started and the show took off. British steel was totally amazing to see live, but then they played the second part with Prophecy,Hell patrol, the ripper, victim of changes, freewheel burnin, diamonds and rust, you got another thing comin, and i was completely amazed at the piercing scream rob did. Everything was perfect to me. the highlight of the concert (maybe even my life, lol) was at the end of the slow part in victim of changes when rob hits those crazy high notes. holy shit i was so happy. Im still smiling from ear to ear. and hot rockin metal godess im really sorry i missed u at the show.although i did see a girl with the priest cross on her pants, and a guy with a ram it down shirt. if i knew it was u i wouldve yelled something. anyways i had the time of my life and i will remember it forever. |

Brave new world is a great album, 5 of the songs on that album are amazing, the other ones are great too. but what i meant was the 5 songs are great Maiden songs. listen to the song painkiller from a touch of evil live, he struggles hitting the high notes, and his scream sounds weird before the solo, that was from 2005-2008. the chances of him hittin those notes in 10 years are very unlikely. hes an amazing singer, but age takes its tole eventually. and metal meltdown has some very high notes in it as well. and the opening to all guns blazing? he wont be able to do that in 10 years. im not tring to criticize him, if thats the way its coming off. im just saying he might not be able to do that night after night, touring also taes a tole on your voice. Bastard wasnt very special, and the latest motorhead album was nothing to write home about either...and Blaze years were very good. most people hate them because Bruce isnt there, but some people dont take the time to listen to it. some amazing songs came from those albums, Sign of the Cross, Clansman! just to name a few, those are great songs, and Dance of Death was great. Paschendale was one of the coolest maiden songs ive heard in a while. and Brave new world had at least 5 good songs, Maiden's first 6 or 7 albums are far beyond better than "ace of spades" at least maiden made more than 2 good songs Edited at: Monday, July 13, 2009 10:15:03 AM |

The likelyhood of them doing a Painkiller anniversary tour is very low to none, maybe some special releases but no tour...i mean do you really think Rob can hit those notes in 10 years from now? he is a metal god, but he struggles now, ten years i dont think they would do that. and defenders probably not either. because although that was an amazing album they are doing Brtish Steel because how ground breaking it was and how it mad them superstars! haha, and i dont think they would want to revisit every single good album theyve ever done! lol
but in 2 more days i will see my first Priest concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by -imbiber of exploits- from Saturday, July 11, 2009 8:24:12 PM) | | -imbiber of exploits- wrote: | | There is a question to be asked--and I'm sure someone already asked it, butT I wasn't informed of the answer, so I'll re'ask this -- and if you, Judas Priest, or any other fan has any insight into this, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE!
30th anniversary of 'British Steel' means a commemorative tour to be performed of the album in its entirety live. Neat. NOW . . . what's the likelihood that some other albums made in the '80s or, well, 'Painkiller' will have the same attention given to their anniversaries? The idea Judas Priest came up with for this tour is stellar, but if they had the same attention given to 'Defenders of the Faith' or 'Painkiller' (really any one besides 'British Steel', to be blunt) I & many other will go CRAZY in excitement! Well . . . let me know what the chances of that would be. I realize it may be silly to ask at this point of the tour, but here's a shot anyway! :-)
Respectfully,
Al |

Motorhead is awesome, they are very good. Lemmy is a great song writer, he even wrote for Ozzy for No more tears, and he did a damn good job, he has more talent in his face boyles than most people will ever have! LOL. but Maidens first 5-7 albums, (7 for me) were outstanding and are considerd total classics. no prayer for the dying wasnt to great., one of their most famous live songs is on Fear of the dark. last 3 maiden albums were outstanding as well (IMO) so for consistency it would go to maiden, who was harder?now that is motorhead |

Steve Harris is honestly one of the greatest songwriters of all time, i mean hes written almost all Maiden songs with the help of others on other songs, but he doesnt just write about the traditional stuff. he uses history and literature. its amazing what those guys can do. |

Aces high, Powerslave, Rime to the Ancient mariner, are the only ones i can play from powerslave. i know many more maiden songs. and a lot of JP too. the solo after the slow section in rime is just so powerful. the way the drum roll leads u to it just sends shivers down my spine. i love it. |

I agree seventh son is way better, and why the evil that men do bothers you i dont know. lol but can i play with madness was very poppy and commercial sounding for maiden. the only thing good that came out of that song was a picture i saw in the cd was Bruce and Nicko standing by a bunch of semi naked women all with a letter on their boobs spelling out "MADNESS" i had a good laugh at that because they want to play with madness
But somewhere back in time is a great album for me, Caught somewhere in time, Wasted Years, lonileness of the long distance runner, sea of madness and deja vu are my favs, and i think it has one of the coolest album covers ever, because many things in the album art trace back to other albums and concerts they have done. we can agree that maiden had better album covers right? lol [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. I do not like Somewhere In time...there are only 2 tracks that I don't mind "The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner" and "Stranger In A Strange Land"...
The other tracks bother me for some unknown reason....its been this way since the album came out and my brain is settled to reject it....
Seventh Son album is FAR better than Somewhere In time.....Not an album I would say as Maiden's best but it does have some good tracks on it
like "Moonchild"......"Infinate Dreams"......"Seventh Son"....The Prophecy ...Only The Good Die Young............The Clair Voyant....
I never liked "The Evil That Men Do"...it drives me nuts and bugs me....Can I Play With Madness I never really cared for but
it doesn't bug me like The Evil That Men Do bugs me. And yeah...I've read on this website a while ago now, there was a member

Maidens first 7 albums were their best! somewhere in time and Seventh son were great albums. better than anything motorhea has ever done, and as far as New maien goes, Brave new world Dance of death and Matter of Life and death are truly amazing albums. Every track on dance of death and matter of life and death is great. No prayer, was maidens worse, Fear of the Dark had only a couple good songs, blaze years were good but unapreciated. Motorhead is the harder band, but not better. i mean every one knows about Ace of spades but seriosusly, most people cant even name anther motorhead record |

Any time they want to tour under the geise of a "reunion" or playing the old classics, a sell out no problem!!!

i hate country but ill admit it is real music as opposed to Rap. I have an extreme hate for rap. no talent whatsoever so talk to your audience about drugs and sex. There is rarely any real instruments, so its not real music. i hate it so much, it shows how dumb mainstream america is because the most terrible music has a huge fan base, its dissapointing. |

Feel the sweat break on my brow
Is it me or is ir the shadows that are dancing on the walls
Is this a dream or is it now
Is this a vision or normality I see before my eyes
I wonder why I wonder how
That it seems the powers getting stronger every day
I feel a strength an inner fire
But Im scared I wont be able to control it anymore
Theres a time to live and a time to die
When its time to meet the maker
Theres a time to live but isnt it strange
That as soon as youre born youre dying
Just by looking through your eyes
He could see the future penetrating
Right in through your mind
See the truth and see your lies
But for all his power couldnt foresee his own demise
Theres a time to live and a time to die
When its time to meet the maker
Theres a time to live but isnt it strange
That as soon as youre born youre dying...
... and reborn again?

Powerslave released in 1984 by Iron Maiden is amazing start to finish, how many heavy metal bands can make a 14+ minute long song and still make it exciting all the way through like Rime of the ancient mariner? Aces High, 2 Minutes to midnight and Powerslave have withstood the test of time and remain on Maiden setlists for many tours! |

I saw a video on youtube, i think it was Hellrider maybe, but Rob spent most of the song hunched over, it was weird i didnt know if it was part of the act he was putting on with the song or if he was hurt or sumthing? lol |

yeah true, well i listend to some of the songs on youtube, and i liked them a little. so i finally bought the album, gave it a few listens all the way through and i love it. The song future of manking is a very epic ending to it. i just love the way the synth ,makes the songs sound very big and epic. believe it or not, painkiller took me a couple of listens to enjoy, especially victim of changes....
it was nice chatting with you spapad but i gotta hit the hay. Happy 4th of july..well 5th now i guess. lol

The downfall of priest? wow. But i can see how the album drags in some places, mostly in the prelude songs like Dawn of Creation leading up to Prophecy. but i think it builds up intensity and when the riff hits, its very powerful. Alot of ppl that i know say they hate it...but they have only heard an I tunes sample of a song or two, i hate that. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Saturday, July 04, 2009 11:02:58 PM) | | spapad wrote: | | There is nothing wrong with that album, it does drag in some places but it's truely a well composed effort. If you want to know all about the Nos, thing just go read Any Nos thread here, there are those who love it, those who dispise it, and those in between. I don't know it the thread is still alive or not but when the Album first came out they posted a thread called "Nostradamus, the downfall of Priest"
So opionions very and will probably be long debated over many years. | | british.steel wrote: | | im officially hooked on the Nostradamus album, why dont people like it??!?!? lol |

yeah people always say its boring, but whats boring about the songs Prophecy? Future of Mankind? Visions? Nostradamus? Pestilence and Plague? and i think the lyrics are pretty good, they work well with the songs. okay some of the lyrics could be better but they are very creative...who else would think of writing this..
Pestilence and Plague
Nella tentanzione (into temptation)
cercando la gloria (in search of glory)
ll Prezzoda Pagare (the price we pay)
E'la Caduta dell'uomo (the fall of man)
i think thats brilliant!!!!!!! |

Id have to say ACDC....
..and you cant say Iron Maiden, because they started off sounding punk-ish with Paul Di'Anno, then got faster and more "metal" sounding with Dickinson, started using synth in '86 with Somewhere in Time, and Seventh son, and so on...they got a darker sound with blaze, and now are Progressive. so they had much evolution. But Priest has many many different sound changes, even late on in their carreer, that takes balls! |

true very true, some might say Painkiller too because that brought in more of the Heavier metal fans. and even though Turbo is a very criticized album by alot of Priest fans, it is still a great album and although i dont think anything from that album really "symbolizes" Judas Priest...(IMO) i think maybe harder rock songs such as Victim of Changes, Sinner, Sentinel, and so on. and i totally agree with Breakin the Law and Living after midnight, even though they are very simple songs, they really got more radio play and brough in more fans |

nope, im totally serious. I think theres just so much power when they swich from acoustic and do the chorus electric. Its just so epic. First time i heard it like that was on Live In London with ripper. I prefer it that way. Its just an opinion dont get too worked up about it. |

I can understand why people dont like it as much as other Priest albums, but Nostradamus (IMO) is a truly epic album, when you listen to it all the way through without skipping songs its even better. The way every song is a perfect chain to the next song is very amazing, and the way some songs build up much anticipation for the next like Dawn of Creation does for Prohecy and Sands of Time leads Into Pestilence and Plague (best song on album IMO) is just amazing. i love this album no matter what people say. |

hahah spelling doesnt rlly matter as long as i can tell what your saying, well heres the story:
I find out that ACDC is finally coming to my town. and im excited, i tell my dad to get me the tickets for christmas because it was near christmas time, the cheapest tickets we could find were around 100 dollars. And my family isnt exactly the richest family ever, so we couldnt get the tickets and i was completely bummed. My friend said he would be able to take me, but a couple of weeks b4 the show his mom decided she was gunna be a bitch and she went to the show instead of giving the extra ticket to me. and i didnt get to see one of my favorite bands. who knows when theyll come next. But hey, i got JP to look forward to! |

And chinese metal some songs sound kindof country because Zakk Wylde loves country music, black rain was alright there were some ballads on it (Here for you, and another i cant remember) but Blizzard of Oz, Diary of a madman and No More Tears are amazing. Its amazing. and not many people know about Strange Highways or Lock up the wolves or even sacred heart. those are all amazing albums |

hahah, I cant agree more. the music these days, bands really have no identity they all sound the same and most ppl only like "the big hit" tht they put out. and there are a lot of posers too. like preppy kids who do nothing but sit inside and play guitar here. I am very thankful my dad has good taste. haha |

i am calm, but its kindof annoying when all i do is ask him why his name is maple syrup, in the friendliest way i could. and then he completely insults me saying he laughs at my posts cuz i have the judas priest knowledge of a 17 yr old lad or sumthin like tht. (which i am 16) and it made me mad. im on here because i enjoy talking about priest and music etc, not to be criticied by a delicious liquid tht makes pankakes taste good. |

thts funny ice cream man, i always thought ur name was ice cream man bcuz the van halen song. thts interesting ive never heard anyone say thts their favorite van halen song, its a great song tho!
but im simply british steel because at the time i created my account (not to long ago im a newbie) but thts when my friend had orderd the tickets to the judas priest show and i was excited tht i will see the metal gods performing all of british steel. its not my fav album by them, but at the time i was excited. lol |

i say metallica has its moments, but overall are very overrtaed. i think alot of their songs have akwardly long intros and once they get into the main part of the song, i lose interest and get bored. Metallicajust doesnt apeal to me. so this one obviosly goes to priest. |

Killing Machine (AKA hell bent for leather) wasnt commercial, i dont think. i used to think killing machine was better. but i think stained class wins easily cuz almost every song is just amazing, alot of my favorit songs r on there such as Excter, Beyond the realms, better by u better than me. but this may sound weird, but i rlly like before the dawn from killing machine. i just beautiful |

Exactly! if Eddie Van Halen were to die or sumthin (which wouldnt happend cuz gods are immortal...hahah) they would have to stop. theres no replacing him, much like when Bohnam died in 1980, led zepppelin stopped. sure they have had a handful of concerts since, but u will never find another EVH, not even in a tribute band. lol |

THIS GUY RLLY DESERVES THE DEATH PENALTY, THE SLOW AND PAINFUL KIND. POOR KIDS, AND MOTHER IN LAW. I FEEL SO BAD FOR THT FAMILY.

okay, i dont think they shouldve "skipped" Ram It Down and Turbo...some amazing songs came from those albums, as they werent as strong as Sad Wings or British Steel, they were good albums and i think every Priest album they are developing their style in a different way, and i dont know if we would have painkiller if Turbo or RID came out. (IMO) cuz i rlly liked blood red skies and the title track ram it down, and yes...turbo was pretty poppy at times, but i rlly like out in the cold, turbo lover, and reckless.
and what was said earlier how ppl hung on to painkiller cuz it was the last halford album until AoR. I am a fairly new fan of Priest and thts not why i love the album so much. Its not My fav, but its such a consistent album and every song on it sounds great. thts my opinion |

Listen to this...
....i saw Fan Halen in concert a little while ago, (tribute band) it was at the house of blues, and after a song, the David Lee Roth look a like guy took the time between songs to completely bash sammy hagar, it was hilarious.
and David Lee Roth, obviously, Hagar took away eddies guitar and made him use the piano! but i think sammy was good on his own. I cant drive 55 was alright, and i like the song Heavy metal, and david lee roth solo kindo sucked. Van Hagar sucks! |

I really like the nostrodamus album, but thts alot of songs and tht album would take up the whole setlist and then we wouldnt be able to see their other "classics".
And i still struggle to find out why so many ppl dislike Nostradamus. I mean, it was a concept album, and it was a little different, to me songs like Pestilence and Plague, and Visions, aong with the title track and more sound like classic priest, Its a good album , and for a band as successful as Priest is, o change their sound a little with every album is very ballsy.

AC/DC has always been one of my favorite bands along with Priest n Maiden, They definalty are two different types of Rock, Most ppl are gunna say priest because this is a priest website, it depends on the mood im in...if i wanna hear heavy metal i listen to priest. if im in the mood for bluesy rock n roll with a lead singer who sounds like he gurgles gasoline, i listen to ACDC.

Been listening to metal for around 5 years now, but just got into priest about two years ago when i was watching music videos and Breakin the Law came on. The riff is what captivated me, i immediatley looked up the guitar tabs and learned tht song, then went out and bought some 3 disc best of Judas Priest. I cant get enough of them now. painkiller is my fav album. and Nostradamus IS good. sure its different, but i love it. and i cant wait to see em in cleveland july 14th |

These are the things tht grind my gears...
1. Metallica (waayyy too overrated)
2.Rap music (what else do i need to say)
3.those kids who are obsessed with vido games such as guitar hero and call of duty, i mean come on, do something outside or learn to play a real instrument fr god sake. |

Ripper was an amazing vocalist and frontman and had a helluvalotta talent, ive seen him once in concert, but Halford simply has more range and more charisma, and JP had way more great songs with Halford than Ripper, altho riper had some great songs....my question is who is better in Iron Maiden....
Paul Di'anno....
Bruce Dickinson...
or Blaze Bayley.

are priest still metal?? Sure nostradamus was different, but it was stil metal, many metal bands do concept album (Iron maiden-Seventh son..) And if they werent metal anymore they wouldnt be onstage playing heavy metal classics like Painkiler, theyd be doing un-plugged Elton John Covers
Heavy Metal is my religion
Judas is my priest
