I wod have to absolutely agree with you... Richie is still young and can go out and have the accolade of being with the mighty Priest. I could brag about Scott all I want since he's my damn idol for drumming, hahah... Rob is nearing the end of the road, but I would LOVE to see him and the rest of the boys from Halford get back into the grind. Ian and Glenn have been more secluded, from what I've noticed. Whatever they do down the road, I wish them the best. But you cannot sit here forever and say, "Oh, just make a few more albums and do some more world tours!"
Hell no, not now... Maybe 20 - 30 years ago, but man these guys aren't young anymore. I'm absolutely lucky and happy that I've been able to see them on every tour since their reunion '04 tour (my first concert ever).. Being 22, I live like I belong in the '80s... (Back to the band) I wouldn't mind seeing them hang it up after this. I respect everything they do, and whatever they decide. I respected KKs decision to retire as well...
As for the Turbo remark, I tend to enjoy Turbo > POE > RID .. And as for AOR, I love AOR since it came out during my time, hahah.. Nostradamus, I've listened to in full length once... It's not a classic Priest record..
Remember the 80's? priest in their prime, metal in its prime, we go from british steel, to an experimental POE, to screaming and defenders, an experiment with turbo, part of the way back with RID, then a different more metal experiment with painkiller to start the 90's.
thats 7 albums in 11 years, maybe 6 of them good, if you give part scores to POE and RID. (disclamer, I think turbo is ok, but I know I am in the minority here)
If they push out the new album in 2014 thats 3 albums in 10 years, and while I put AOR higher on my list that you, most dont. some like nost, I sure as hell dont. while I hope the new album is their best ever I doubt it, and frankly at the current pace I doubt they can crank one out by 2018 to folow it up. So, I hope they put it all into this album, do something great, and then shut it down. Let Richie go on to something else, scott can work other projects, Glen and Ian can go onto post rocker life, Rob can either resurect the halford band or not. Priest have had a great ride, but after 40 years its over.

I "am" looking forwards to this new Judas Priest album. However, I HOPE this is the LAST Judas Priest album! As ALL of you have said,no 2 Priest LPs are alike, and we ALL KNOW this band experiments with new ideas ect...
The band have said this new LP will be a straight forwards kind of metal album ect.... this will be out in 2014 sometime late in the year....
I sure as HELL do NOT want "another Judas Priest album" out in 2017, or 2018 ect.. because THAT record would most likely be another new idea experimental project again,God forbid they just stay "heavy metal".....
I'm ready for this band to retire after this new album and mini-tour ect...
They have wasted so much time when Rob came back in 2004,thats 10 fucking years Rob's been back in this band and alls they have to show for it really is Angel of Retribution which ranks 6th all-time in rating Priest's discography in my opinion...,but thats it? 1 album that ranks 12th or 13th in the majority of this website's opinions ? Thats it?
It just sucks that AOR is all they have to show for......
Yeah no matter how good this new LP is, I am ready for Judas Priest to hang up thier leathers and hope for the younger generation to pay back all the dues and turn the page.

Alright.. Well, being the wrestling fan that I am, I listen to Stone Cold's podcast show...
He recently had Kerry King (Slayer) on the show, and King showed absolute respect and gave a shoutout to Glenn Tipton, which I thought was absolutely awesome, because Tipton is way too underrated in the realm of guitar playing.
Thought I'd drop by and make a rare appearance on here to leave a good message.

I can vaguely remember the same thing happening in South Dakota (granted, I was 13 or 14 at the time [almost 10 years ago] hahaha) but once you got in the caves, your senses changed and it was almost a bizarro world, of sorts...
Went to Laurel Caverns (east of Uniontown Pa.) with my wife yesterday. We were heading for "Cooper's Rock" in West Virginia, saw a sign for "Laurel Caverns" and headed there instead.Turned out to be pretty awesome. The biggest cave in Pa. I've been in caves before but never a mile in. They have more than 3 miles of cave open for exploration. One reason for this post is because of something I have a little trouble understanding. Supposedly in caves you don't have complete control of our senses. An incline may not seem as steep as it is or a hole may be deeper than it appears and so on. At one point we were climbing an incline upwards and came to a hand rail about 8 ft. in length. From the lower point, the handrail looked lower at the upper point and higher at the lowest point. Our guide placed a golf ball at the top (lowest point) and the balled appeared to roll upward to the bottom point. He told us that it was just an illusion and that the rail actually went downward but only appears to go upward. I still don't get it. Had a great day none the less. Anyone?

Wow... Wow... Wow... Long time, no talk... I don't know where to start.. haha
Recently moved to Texas in July with my (now) 10 month old son and my fiance. "Middle of no-where", Texas, that is. Trying to get everything situated out there, still... Then realized I haven't been on here in ages! But then I noticed how little activity has actually happened on the noticeboard as of late, as well.. I blame Facebook, Twitter, etc. etc. etc.
I'll try to post more on here, but don't hold your breath to long... I work some funky ass hours....

Anyone else see this!? ::
Queensryche Part Ways With Geoff Tate, Name Todd La Torre New Singer
After recent rumblings of tension and rumored incidents, veteran rockers Queensryche have parted ways with singer Geoff Tate. They’ve announced that Crimson Glory’s Todd La Torre is their new singer and have put their current tour dates on hold while they work on revised routing.
Queensryche drummer and band founder Scott Rockenfield explains the split. “Over the past few months, there have been growing creative differences within Queensryche. We want our fans to know that we hoped to find a common resolution, but in the end parting ways with Geoff was the best way for everyone to move forward in a positive direction. We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors. We can’t wait to bring Queensryche to our fans with Todd behind the microphon
The new lineup already played two shows in Seattle under the name Rising West before Tate’s exit was official. The now former lead singer had to play as a solo artist when opening for the Scorpions last week in Utah after the rest of the band withdrew from the show. He already had solo acoustic shows planned for the summer along with a new solo album.
Replacing any vocalist is a big risk, especially when it is somebody as iconic as Tate, who had been in Queensryche since 1982 and was the voice behind all their hits. However, perhaps it’s one of those situations where both the band and Tate will end up better off in the long run.
So Ripper Owens is playing in Wellington this Friday and on Monday my friend texts me saying I have a job that you might be very interested in. I rang him up and he is friends with the promoter of the show and he needs someone to drive Ripper and his band around while they are here. Said I was interested and the promoter got in touch with me today with the itinerary. So at lunch time on Friday I'm picking Ripper Owens and his band up at the airport and driving them around for 24 hours. Pretty sweet deal, free tix to the show, hang with the band. Can't wait.

Hellrider, I used to like you. About half a year ago, you were still OK in my book. So, your posts were in all Caps, but at least you had something sensible to say for most of the time. But now your posts are mostly what I consider spam because you repeat them over and over again: "KK BACK THREE AXE ATTACK BEFORE THE NEW ALBUM IS RECORDED WITHOUT HIM FOREVER", "BUY SINGLE CUTS BUY COMPLETE ALBUMS COLLECTION SUPPORT THE PRIEST BUY EVERYTHING YOU CAN ALREADY HAVE IT BUY ANOTHER", "PRIEST LOSE SO MUCH MONEY BECAUSE OF METAL BETRAYER ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS". Oh, and my favorite: "DEMAND KK BACK CLICK THE WIDGET NEW ALBUM WILL BE ONLY PARTIAL WITHOUT HIM". Basically, those few phrases in different forms are the only things you've said over the last few months.
And when you're criticized, even in the most friendly ways, you say that you're "PREACHING AND KEEPING THE METAL ALIVE SHOWING TRUE METAL SPIRIT" and call the ones who criticize you to be "aliens" or "metal hijackers". Alright, so I understand that you want to preach and spread the word of metal, and still believe that there's a slight chance that KK would return (which I don't beleive myself, but let's not go there). But let's get the facts straight. Others have estimated that there's about 100 members that are actually active and read the forums at least once a week or so. And of that 100 probably only one quarter post there regularly. Those who read these forums already have most, if not every Priest item they can buy.
So, instead of trying to tell us to buy more Priest records etc., why don't you go on some other forum or out in the public to tell people who aren't familiar with Priest how great the band is? That would be a far more effective way to increase Judas Priest's popularity and record sales than preaching the same things over and over again on a forum where people are already well familiar with the band.

Personally, I feel sad for what you have become - a true spammer. Look at this thread alone and all the comments by those who once (and hope to again) call you a heavy metal "friend." I now imagine you walking around with a tin foil hat on your head to ward off the evil beings from beyond who are trying to sap your metal fervor to power their spaceships.
Sanity, quite obviously, doesn't become you now. Perhaps someday I'll raise a coke in honor of a friend I once knew and liked. Until then, enjoy talking to yourself and Bwian, the troll. For the love of Priest, go to YouTube.

Even without listening to the tracks (I can't because they're blocked in my country), the mention of Colorado and LAM being the newest single likely means that they're from the Denver 1980 soundboard bootleg (which has been sold even at Amazon every now and then, but completely without consent from the band).

1,000,000% fact.
Stop getting your hopes up, I cannot stand listening to anything from Nostradamus. It's collecting dust somewhere.. Almost went out and shelled $$$ for that huge vinyl bundle, made that mistake with GNR's 'Chinese Democracy'...
Futhermore, there's no way it'll be like anything from 'Painkiller'.. More like a mix (IMO) of Hell Bent & British Steel. Not a lot of high notes, but the aggressiveness and definition will prevail.
random fact kk doesnt do metal anymore. if you got him back rob and richie would quit for sure and you would get something that makes nostradamus look HARD!!!!

Thanx. y'all.. Well they checked 3 different times yesterday during the ultrasound and found no heartbeat.. We got pictures from it though, we're gunna frame them, esp. the ones where it has it's hand up, almost like it was waving goodbye to us..
Still, the worst part will be Monday morning, when they'll have her actually deliver it since it's at 22 weeks... We're both trying hard to keep it together, but I know for a fact Christmas this year will be very, very sad.. That, and our 2 year is on the 18th, so that'll be a big blow for us, too... And my grandpa died a few months ago as well to cancer.
I still must Thank all you for the kind words. I keep reminding her that we'll have a baby one day. We were joking around though, since she was ssaying, "Would you leave me for this?" And, naturally, my response was, "If we've been through tornados, heartbreak, terrible fights, loss of our friends, family struggles (like my parents wanting my attention since they were going through a divorce...), and everything in between and farther.. What else is there to do but keep loving you? Nothing else can try to tear us apart."
I just keep believing that one day we'll have our baby to hold.

I hear ya on that one! Everyone around me always saying, "OMG! Did you hear Avenged Sevenfold's song 'BLAHBLAHBLAH' " or any other current Metal act.. (Granted, I did enjoy their last album 'Nightmare, w/ Mike Portnoy!) And I just look at them and shake my head.. I mean, yes, it's good, but c'mon, it's not real Metal.. I'm hearing a lot of better things from an underground level than what these "newer" acts are doing in cross-country tours & internationally. Like how a bunch of my friend's are all Ga-Ga about A Day To Remember, and I just wanna punch them in the face and tell them that their music isn't no where near real Metal...
I haven't heard much of them. Get the impression that they are one of the new breed of metal bands that are more style than substance with designer tatts and $300 haircuts, average musicianship, cliched songs etc. Could be wrong though, but as far as new stuff goes the best of it is coming from the underground scene. Most of these young mainstream metal acts are shit I think. I feel the same about Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me The Horizon, Rise To Remain etc.

I agree.. You can hear it's "missing something" to the sound, and that'd be Glenn. I'm pretty dang sure it's just Richie carrying on to get the intro going. Yes, the bike is and always has been pre-recorded, we've determined this, hahah... But hell, 20 year deja vu? Weird.. Would've been more ironic if it happened in Toronto again.. Set aside that, thankfully he seems just damn fine. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Saturday, September 17, 2011 12:18:25 PM)

Although not the best seats.. I'm 99% sure I'm going to the Detroit show.
Just a 12 hour drive from where I am (took a 12 hour drive to Sturgis last year for the Crue...) to see one of my favourite bands in the world, definitely worth it!!
I was reading Metal Meltdown's post in Metal Blah Blah Blah this afternoon, about how tickets for the Toronto show were already on sale even though there was no official posting of the date yet on JP.com. I was so pissed because previously (since the tour was announced) I had been checking various websites just in case this type of thing happened, but hadn't been checking lately. I figured I was pretty much screwed out of any good tickets, and the prices for really good seats (where Rob can see me clearly mouthing "I LOVE YOU FOREVER METAL GOD" LOL) were really high, for me, anyway. So I was pretty much cussing and crying in my soup that my one and only chance to ever see Priest was now most likely NOT going to happen. So my husband (who, incidentally, is not a huge metal fan like myself) gets home from work, I'm pissed and hollering and telling him all this, he turns around and says, "Surprise!!!! - Merry Early Christmas - We got tickets!!!!!" I am not ashamed to admit I actually cried! Apparently he put out the word to any and everyone he knew that "my wife absolutely HAS TO SEE THIS CONCERT" and was being really vigilant about any info coming his way about early ticket sales, and got lucky with TOTALLY AWESOME seats. So many nights he'd come home when I was complaining that there was still no Toronto date, and now this!!!!!! I'M SO FREAKIN HAPPY I COULD BURST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps - mo, 143, i love you and you are the best husband in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Myself, being a hardcore Priest fan, would have been disappointed with there being no "One Shot At Glory" following "Battle Hymn"... Still, the set list does look great. Sentinel, Starbreaker, Never Satisfied, hell, BLOOD RED SKIES! (Like I've said before, Scott could play that entire album flawlessly; he's a f*ckin' drum machine!) Now I really wanna find some tix to see this tour, one way or another... Just gotta save up...
I just saw the first video of the song Rapid Fire with the Battle Hymn intro. I gotta say that is REALLY mean towards the hardcore fans thinkin' they're about to hear One Shot At Glory n' then they hear Rapid Fire. The setlist is quite crazy and fun tho, otherwise.
[Mr. Dave Genocide] Saturday, June 04, 2011 1:35:37 AM
So wait, no one under 21 is allowed at the Horseshoe Casino in Chicago? Well, this puts a road-block into my plans to going to see this tour (1st leg), unless my girl and I just go back down to Texas to see 'em... But money sucks lately (even working 2 jobs like I do) and we wouldn't be able to go to Chicago now cos management isn't all for the fans... Only 21+? Fuck shows like that, include EVERYONE you can to come see the Priest, esp. on this tour! What / Who the hell does management think they are, God? Screw that. MOTLEY concerts are more 'extreme' than a Priest concert, and they let everyone come. This shit-ass Management deal they have is bullshit, esp. for people like me who wants to see them here in Minnesota, just so I can save some f*ckin' money... Not only that, but on the 'Retribution' tour, my dad and I scored 5th row here in MN and 2nd in Moline, IL 5 minutes into tix going on sale, maximum... Now I'm hearing how the first (12) rows are all taken within seconds? Bullshit I tell ya.. Having a fan club would bring in a lot of profit for the Priest, so where management sees that one.. idk.. I'm done.. I need to refill my f*ckin' drink..
[Mr. Dave Genocide] Wednesday, June 01, 2011 12:12:06 PM
I completely agree.. No one would (or could) figure the Priest out if there were 3 guitarists like Maiden, therefore KK wont be returning and Richie's one helluva guitar player, something the Priest has been looking for.. I cannot wait to hear what he can contribute (not just from Living After Midnight & Braking The Law on American Idol) but on this new album.. Look, it's better to have a guitarist who's into their music and play it with thier heart and soul than have a (veteran) stick around and not have the heart, desire, soul for this type of music anymore... Praise to the Mighty Priest for forging on without KK, they'll still do amazing on this tour and I believe the new album will cement Richie as a gloriouis musician. I agree 100%. If you're hearts not into it anymore, then leave. We're gunna have to live with Richie (for now) and face the fact that KK's experimental style isn't what Rob and Glenn are wanting (i.e. Turbo, Ram It Down, Nostradamus...) I wish him the best in the future, and I personally cannot wait for the new / last tour and album.
Hellrider....I really don't want K.K. to come back to Judas Priest because his heart isn't into it anymore and I'm kinda already used to the idea that he is gone,I will always love his spirit and his guitars ect..but this doesn't really phase me anymore,to tell you the truth I'm more excited about Judas Priest now than I have in 3 long years,I had high hopes for Nostradamus and I'm still jealous of those who love the album as I wish I did but the band has been on a downward spiral ever since the end of the Angel Of Retribution tour.
And now 3 long years later I am excited about Judas Priest again and its all because Rob and Glenn decided to keep the band going without K.K. If he came back to Priest right now I would be bummed because then you never know what we would get again....the album would come out watered down because of K.K.'s fascination with experimental ideas and with him being gone Rob and Glenn both jumped to the questions in interviews about how "normal" the new album will be,a classic british metal album.
I just can't see K.K. all of a sudden change his mind and get in the spirit of things all within 10 months of quitting....lets face it,he is gone at least for now and he will most likely not be on the new album so another line will be drawn in the sand come time for the album's release lol!

That's just the problem, when people hear the name "Judas Preist", they don't think of Nostradamus, they think of Screaming, Defenders, Painkiller, British Steel, Stained Class, etc... And I agree, management would never want to go out on a limb and risk losing everything, especially money, on a Nostradamus tour.. The costs would be through the roof... And to throw this in there: Even though I only have listened to the record one time all the way through, I'd still go see it. 100% love to the band I grew up with... Anyways, this whole management thig is bullsh!t and I wish KK the best for his future. Getting away from the source of your problems is much better than traveling millions of miles and dealing with their bullsh!t... But still, this finale wont be the same without him... Let's just be glad he stayed around for all these years, through every record, every tour, (every cab that hit him in the fanny!)... KK, you have my respects.. I'm just concentrating on June 24th here in MN for the Motley concert... Is it a bad thing when GnR has released US dates before Judas Priest? In my book, yes.. Disgraceful... (I can't stand Axl..) But that's for a different topic// Please Priest - Release US tour dates!!!

I MYSELF WAS THINKING THE SAME THING ABOUT STARBREAKER! Scott could do an amazing solo along with the song, we all know he has it in him! And I've also been thinking about the songs I haven't heard live (in person)... I've seen them everytime here in MN since '04/'05 ('04 was actually at Rock Fest in Wisconsin..) But none-the-less, I would love LOVE to hear some of the old material and see an old-style stage setup (Where's the thousand Marshall stacks at!?) The outfits... BRING 'EM BACK! I skipped it, too! And I did so by working the thing that's as bad as a halftime performance: FAST FOOD! Yet I must thank the SB for happening cos I only worked 3 hours (Got home right after the Haltime show ended) but work was slow as hell.
Look, I'll say it here like I said it to the local classic rock station here in Minnesota: FORGET THE HALFTIME SHOW DURING THE SUPER BOWL FROM NOW ON! Apparently, no matter who plays, everyone has something to complain about! No act is ever good enough. The only good acts to ever happen is if we went back in time and took the Rock / Metal scene from the '70s and '80s and let them perform now-adays... Since everyone likes to complain how bad they are all these years later... But hey, the classic rock station here suggested AC/DC.
I've wanted to see the Priest play, but I hope they don't degrate themselves by accepting the offer... The halftime show is a joke... [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guitardude from Monday, February 07, 2011 6:46:24 PM)

Saw Ozzy Osbourne Live for the first time here in Minneapolis on Wednesday.. Won Suite tix off the radio. Oh yeah, remember me telling you this before? Yeah, funny story... Slash pulled an Axl and didn't show up, so no Halford, no Slash, NO OPENER... Ozzy did 2 hours of material (ok, he left a few songs off the list that he performed in other cities) but the fucking critics wont get off his back because "he couldn't hit the same notes time after time..." He's fucking 62 and still can kick fucking ass, cos like he said, "Vampires are pussies! I'm the Prince of Fucking Darkness!" Fucking hate hate HATE critics! Sure, the fucking turnout was only 6000 people (yet they said it was sold out, and I saw many sections enpy)... and that pissed me off, but it was still loud as fukkk and I loved every second of the show! The Oz man lives!

Have you tried YouTube? There are concerts from the 'Defenders' tour and (at one point) there was the full Painkiller show from Detroit on there as well.. VERY VERY rare to find material from the Ram It Down tour... There are some vids on there you can check out. There's some other bootleg sites you can check also..

Can I say I've honestly only listened to Nostradamus once all the way through? I've tried time and time again in the past, but always get bored during the FIRST disc... It's just not Priest material.. I'd probably prefer it over Parental Guidance though... More like British Steel - Vengeance - Defenders - Painkiller - Retribution kind of material I'm wanting - NEEDING - to hear from these guys, and a lot of people feel the same way! Please, oh please, at least one more album for us Priest fans!

Geeze, no one's posting here..
I'll take a step to the plate and tell ya something... Living in Minnesota, we got roughly 14" - 17" here outside Minneapolis yesterday, so left and right, all over the news, it's all about the Metrodome collapsing and having 3 holes in the roof... Happened before in '82 'er '83 I believe also, but this is the worst one.. So I'm here, just to say, everyone, SHUT UP ABOUT IT. Vikings will always suck, so what does it matter? Favre's lucky he wasn't on the field with his walker or else he'd be sacked as always... I'm done ranting.

I'd much rather have Halford, but Slash ain't bad (At least it's not AXL!). Can't stand Nickleback, either... Anyways.. Idk.. VIP Suite tix, won 'em off the radio.. Wednesday night, we'll see... Being from Minnesota... Vikes can't afford to go on with Jackson, no one here can stand him. (And Childress as coach is a big No-No also...) All of us here are still waiting for the typical Favre to actually come out and say he's done, and not his agent... Other than the Vikes, they weren't the Top NFC team this year, apparenlty it's the Cowboys (!?!?!?!?!) which I cannot see happening.. And other sources say the Pack will win the NFC, we'll just have to see... Drew Brees "Madden Curse" to happen this year? Who knows... Remember, Favre wants vengeance on Brees . . . Painkiller is thought of as "overdone" because Turbo & Ram It Down were so weak for the Priest, and once that came out, Yes, the bar was put there and everyone expected the Priest to keep putting out albums like it. But IMO, I FUCKING LOVE PAINKILLER!
As to new Priest albums: Anything like Angel Of Retribution would kick ass. (Which a lot believe would have been the next album, or come along sooner than '05, IF Rob never left in '92...) I'm not expecting them to put out another Painkiller album, due to their heightening ages... But if it's like AOR, I'll be first in line for the album!!!

I've thought the same thing... Defenders flows with no hesitation and keeps chuggin' on heavier and heavier. Screaming started strong and ended strong, but the middle was kind of missing something, the something that Defenders kept and should have been bigger than Screaming. I agree. Turbo and Ram It Down were very disappointing, esp. Ram It Down. The one thing that sent it into a nosedive was the use of a drum machine. It was OK, but not what I had come to expect.
ron h wrote:
Budred, don't get me wrong by my expressed disappointment as I do consider DOTF to be a good release. The songs Rock Hard Ride Free, The Sentinel, Love Bites and Eat Me Alive are good songs that I really enjoy, it's the rest of them that leave me wanting. That, coupled with the album cover along with following such a great album in SFV, I expected something completely mind blowing. Unfortunately for me, just the opposite happend. Many of Priests' fans got hooked on them with the DOTF release, and I can certainly understand why. I had been a fan of theirs for a number of years by that time and just felt let down (a lot like I was with Point of Entry).

I'm sure I'll get slammed for this but I was sort of disappointed with DOF. The cover looked like Lego's (so UNmetal) and the music didn't evolve to a higher level from SFV and the lyrics took a step back from my age group. It was at that point that I started to realize that the band wasn't going to mature with me (later verified by the Turbo release).
Not that I don't like DOF, but to me it was the first step towards a decline that they didn't really recover from until Painkiller.

The video is good in a Farscape-esque way, but the music, well, I just felt it wasn't very exciting. I just hope they haven't done a Metallica and produced an album's worth of unmemorable tripe on the basis that everyone will buy it anyway.

Mmmhm, Painkiller sadly got beaten out my Metallica (OVERRATED, IMO, anyone else agree?). This definitely is a very long and overdue Grammy award for the Priest! I also agree, I myself do enjoy Megadeth, but it's just something Dave Mustaine threw together. Sadly, the Megadeth - Slayer tour got cancelled (Tom Araya needed back surgery) so I can't see them in 2 days here in Minnesota! (T'was a birthday present for me, since I turn 19 tomorrow!) Hahaha, ya got me there. Parental Guidance is by far their worst song ever writen. And yes, Turbo was a very weak album for them in the '80s, where they were high atop the Metal kingdom at the time. Why release an album like Turbo when you're that successful, who knows. And then to try and go back to speed with Dave Holland when he's starting to faulter is beyond me, so THANK YOU SCOTT TRAVIS for coming to Priest in '89 and subsequently putting the PAIN in Painkiller and putting Priest back on top! But seriously, no more mentioning Parental Guidance, please! I can't take it!
(For some reason, everytime I try to put a video from YouTube on here it doesn't wanna show up!)

Then along came Painkiller and that album is my absolute favourite album. I believe that one album really pinpoints the reaf fire and emotion inside Judas Priest (besides Stained Class and Screaming For Vengeance). 13 years later, 20 concerts later (from 2004 - present), I'll never forget the mighty Metal Gods!
To say my least favourite album, excluding the Ripper era, definitely has to be Ram It Down. I'm sorry, the drum machine kills it. Myself, being a drummer, I can cover every single track on that album! (Then again, Scott is my main drumming influence and he could nail those songs as well!) It was sad that the drum machines were brought in, but it was known (as you view videos from the '88 tour) that Dave didn't have all the energy the rest of the band had, which in turn brought in the "Machine Man" himself Scott Travis and Painkiller was born, along with Angel Of Retribution and Nostradamus.

Along the lines of Studio Albums, I'd love to have "RAM IT DOWN" re-issued with Scott on drums (I believe it'd be a completely better album, myself, I dislike the drum machine . . ) The rest of the album, with Rob - Glenn - KK - Ian, is phenominal, I'd just love to hear what'd it sound like with Scott on drum duty. Anyone agree with that?

The recent rise in death tolls this year is amazing... Esp. that in less than 2 weeks, 2 of my friends died, both with me in the Class of '09, who've just graduated this year!
The first death is (manslaughter) brought onto the mom for giving her daughter (my friend) anti-anxiety pills that weren't for her... And now my friend since Elementary school had heart problems and died the other day . . .
I'M SO SICK OF ALL THIS DEATH BULLSHIT!

I'll still say this, Priest absolutely electrified (July 3rd) the night when I saw them live! And fireworks after the show? Amazing. Can't wait to see 'em again!
[Mr. Dave Genocide] Friday, July 03, 2009 11:24:48 PM
Set list was still the same tonight in Minnesota... What a fuckin' concert, I lost my voice in the process! Rob's vocals were in the stratosphere, he's def. still does have it. The Priest never let's down, and this was one helluva concert. I've never heard british Steel performed so beautifully (The crowd behind me was going ape-shit when Painkiller was never played... I tried to tell 'em the set-list, but they wanted it, BAD!) I have some video of "The Rage", "Diamonds & Rust", and Rob's crowd warm-up & YGATC. Hope to get 'em up, great view from where I was. Priest played from 8:30 PM - 10:03 PM, then we all watched the fireworks explode overhead. Nothin' better than a concert on an island.

A very good show last night. I though both Priest and Whitesnake were in good form. Priest played the same set as the show in Indy but thought I would post it anyway if nothing else to add the Whitesnake set.

3. Love Ain't No Stranger
4. Slow & Easy
5. Lay Down Your Love

8. Is This Love
9. Give Me All Your Love
10. Here I Go Again

Yes! It is tonight, and they're meeting me here in Minnesota, and I cannot wait any longer!
It'll be etraordinary, with this being my 18th Priest concert since Rob returned in 2004 (Myself, being 18 as well...) [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Rebel 06 from Friday, July 03, 2009 11:25:27 AM)

YES! I cannot wait. Anything like AOR would be awesome... IMO, I'd love for the album to start with a brilliant scream from Rob, and for the album to end much like SAS, on a high. Thanx. for this article.
<<Ludwig - Paiste - Vic Firth; style among brilliance>>
Well...it looks like us fans' wishes have been granted. Rob said it himself in an interview that "it'll be a real strong heavy metal record." That sounds promising enough. They said that with Angel Of Retribution and it turned out awesome. They didn't lie about Nostradamus being different either. So I'll take their word when they say this about the next album.
LOL! Dude...thats gross. This kind of thing doesn't "turn me on"....and most importantly,it doesn't "impress me".......... Its a haven for stds'. To each his own.

I wish I could figure out how to attach a picture of Savannah for you. I scanned one in and saved it but it wont let me attach it in these emails. It will in my regular?? I don't know, I am no good at that stuff.
If anyone has some tips, I would appreciate it.
My boss is about to get here so I may be out of touch for a while

Lol, damn. I'm gonna say that I LOVE the stuff, I just enjoy it. It's the first [alcoholic] beverage I ever had so there ya go... I don't really enjoy beer, and my experience with 151 Everclear was horrible (Friend gave me a bottle, telling me to drink some more Peppermint Schnapps, and by this time I was wasted with a bunch of friends, just partyin', and it wasn't 'til I realized that after 5 seconds of chugging it that the Schnapps was infront of me and I was chugging the Everclear!) I held it down... But seriously, when they mean "TAKE WITH CHASER", please, TAKE WITH A CHASER!

Bleah! If someone were to wave a bottle of that stuff under my nose to this day, I'd hurl! Was a bartender for a many years and I could never bring that bottle near my face. LOL

Here is the setlist, and Diamonds And Rust was performed heavy electric, not acoustic.
1. Rapid Fire
2. Metal Gods
3. Breaking The Law
4. Grinder
5. United
6. You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise
7. Living After Midnight
8. The Rage
9. Steeler
10. The Ripper
11. Prophecy
12. Rock Hard Ride Free
13. Victim Of Changes
encores
14. Freewheel Burning
15. Diamonds And Rust
16. You've Got Another Thing Comin'
I was front row dead center, and there was no barrier so we were right up against the stage. I love British Steel and was so excited that I thought my head would expolde when Rapid Fire started. The band sounded fantastic and Rob's voice was amazing, even hitting the high notes in Victim Of Changes. Rob was intense as always and was moving all around. He would come right up to the end of the stage and even grabbed my hand several times. Glenn was smiling and looking at the audience alot. KK was energetic and he and Ian were always in motion so it was hard getting clear pictures of them. Scott was solid as usual and I could see him clearly being so close. While my favorites were Rapid Fire, Steeler, Victim Of Changes, and Freewheel Burning, there was no low point of the show. At the end, Ian handed me a bass pick and Scott gave me a drum stick.
Sitting next to me was Victor who drove 4 hours from north of Chicago. His first Priest concert was 1980 and mine was 1982, but we were banging our heads and pumping our fists like teenagers. My voice is still sore from screaming. It was an awesome night and I won't be able to get the smile off my face for a long time.
I will also be front row center for the Cleveland show on July 14. I hope my head and neck will have recovered, so I can do it all over again.
Let me know if you have any questions about the show, and I'll try to answer them.

Hello there, poppin' in for a quick early mornin' visit..
Haven't been on here for a while 'cos I've been takin' care of my ex, who has mono... She's feelin' better now, and I'm tryin' to get her to come to the Priest concert on July 3rd.
Also tryin' to get a job (yes, still)... 'Cos it's hard to create your dream Heavy Metal drum kit if you don't have money (Roughly $8000 'er so).
I'll try to be back on this site before the concert this Friday, but if I don't make it back, you'll feel the ground shake, and you'll know it's me on my double kicks!

YESS! YEES! That is what everyone is saying here!!
The Vikes can't just rely on Peterson, and we defininetly need a quarterback, which is ultimately the one thing holding them back from a good season..
And on the other side, they have announced that Childress and his coaching staff will be back next season.. So they have some time to get that offense together. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Darth_Painkiller_0870 from Monday, January 05, 2009 5:29:39 AM)

Stop Adrian Peterson and you will stop the Vikings offense. Note to Vikes coach Brad Childress: Step 1 - Get a QB who can make plays! Step 2 - Get another offensive weapon so that defenses can't just key on Adrian Peterson!

I'm never on here anymore...
Probably cos I'm partyin' with my friends every night.. Haha
And having band practice every Friday.
And I convinced my guitarist to learn The Hellion / Electric Eye.
But we still need a bassist and vocalist (since out bassist tragically died last summer...)
Anyways, much love to all you Heavy Metal maniacs out there. \m/

Turbo is an amazing song, and one of my Top 3 favourites off the album..
It is quite underrated, and it still kicks ass when played live during Priest concerts!

I'm sitting here, listening to the brand new AC/DC album Black Ice, and I can say I'm likin' it.
It's a damn good album. (of course, the idiots at Wal*Mart forgot to put out the display case for the album!)
But I ended up getting the Limited Edition (WHITE Labled) version.
If you haven't picked it up, you should.
Great All-Around album.
I saw on the Intro thread: Tour 2008 a guy had mentioned he saw Priest in Seattle recently and they included Grinder. Any confirmations on this to the setlist? Anyone?

Sounds awesome! I will be seeing them Next Sat. in NJ Front Row! Can't wait!

I was at the store yesturday . . Actually, it was more around 1 in the Morning!
But anyways, I came across the new Hit Parader, and it was on the best Hard Rock bands of all time, ya know.
They had Judas Priest in there, and we should all agree on the first thing that was mentioned..
It pretty much mentioned that Judas Priest hasn't gotten the respect it deserves, for they are the Gods of Heavy Metal!
And we know they aren't as "radio-friendly" as a lot of other bands *coughmetallicacough*
Because of this failure to notice a great golden band, they most likely won't get an opportunity to get their own "movie".
Foreign editions (German, Bulgarian and Polish) of the unauthorized JUDAS PRIEST biography "Defenders of the Faith: The Story of Judas Priest" by UK-based author Neil Daniels will be available in late 2008/early 2009, with an English paperback edition due out before Christmas.
"Defenders of the Faith: The Story of Judas Priest" was released in September 2007 via Omnibus Press. According to the book's official description, the "first definitive biography of the metal Gods . . reveals how a group of poor, working-class lads followed in their heroes footsteps. JUDAS PRIEST's entire history is explored from their deprived beginnings in 1960s West Bromwich as an entirely different band. This title includes over 50 interviews with prominent musicians, producers, record company personnel, journalists, childhood friends and ex-members. From their earliest obscure demos to their controversial contract with Gull Records and breakthrough success with CBS, every album and tour is examined. This is the story of constant lineup changes; sell-out tours, battles with American Conservative Fundamentalists, the complete breakdown of the band, and their re-ignition with a new singer in 1996. Finally, their hugely successful reunion in 2003 with Rob Halford — the self-proclaimed Metal God — brought the band back to the attention of the world's greatest stages."
Back in February 2007, JUDAS PRIEST management representative Jayne Andrews posted a message on the group's official web site, stating that "we would like to make it clear to everyone that a book which is due out soon, entitled 'Defenders of the Faith - The True Story of Judas Priest' by Neil Daniels, is not an official book and is not approved by the band. We had absolutely no involvement with this book at all and therefore it is most definitely not the true story of JUDAS PRIEST!!"

There probally are a rare few in the world who have any footage of the BTM: Judas Priest.
I've searched eBay before, and I got no results.
And there aren't any clips on YouTube...
It's hard to find.. (Since it was pulled after Halford came back . . . )
I can say that I haven't come across any footage.
VH1 / VH1 CLASSIC have a breif background about it on their website(s).. But that's about it.
[Mr. Dave Genocide] Sunday, June 22, 2008 4:05:07 PM
Yeah.. Blabbermouth posted ANOTHER thing with Atkins.. This time an interview with STALKER.
Fuck.. I didn't feel like posting it.. And you'll see why if/when you go there.
It's embarrassing at one point, when he says "I've never heard their cover . . . ", and then a minute later says "Their cover was brilliant.."
According to Hits Daily Double (the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS), JUDAS PRIEST's new double-disc concept album, "Nostradamus", is poised to sell around 50,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release for a likely Top 10 debut on The Billboard 200 chart. If "Nostradamus" does in fact crack the Top 10, it will give the band its highest-ever career chart position in the U.S.
JUDAS PRIEST's last CD, "Angel of Retribution", opened with 58,000 copies back in March 2005 to debut at No. 13.
The following are the peak U.S. chart positions for the PRIEST catalog:
#13 - "Angel of Retribution" (2005)
#165 - "Demolition" (2001)
#82 - "Jugulator" (1997)
#155 - "Metalworks" (1993)
#26 - "Painkiller" (1990)
#31 - "Ram It Down" (1988)
#38 - "Priest Live" (1987)
#17 - "Turbo" (1986)
#18 - "Defenders of the Faith" (1984)
#17 - "Screaming for Vengeance" (1982)
#39 - "Point of Entry" (1981)
#34 - "British Steel" (1980)
#70 - "Unleashed in the East" (1979)
#128 - "Hell Bent for Leather" (1978)
#178 - "Stained Class" (1978)
JUDAS PRIEST's most successful album to date is 1982's "Screaming For Vengeance", which spent 53 weeks on the Billboard charts, receiving gold RIAA sales certification on October 29, 1982, platinum on April 18, 1983 and double platinum October 16, 2001. The album included the band's only U.S. top 100 hit single, "You've Got Another Thing Comin'".
Other million-seller RIAA certifications for JUDAS PRIEST are "Priest Live" (October 29, 2001), "Turbo" (July 24, 1989), "Defenders of the Faith" (September 26, 1988), "British Steel" (August 9, 1989) and "Unleashed in the East" (November 10, 1989).
JUDAS PRIEST also has gold albums certifications (500,000 sales) for "Stained Class" (November 10, 1989), "Hell Bent For Leather" (November 10, 1989), "Point of Entry" (November 10, 1989), "Ram It Down" (July 18, 1988) and "Painkiller" (January 2, 1991).
In the band's home country of the U.K., 1980's "British Steel" remains their most successful outing, peaking at No. 4 in the charts and launching three hit singles: "Living After Midnight", which peaked at No. 12; "Breaking The Law" No. 12 and "United" No. 26.

Here's a "joke"...
Idk, I just came up with it off the top of my head. But honestly, folks, he doesn't deserve an Autobio...
Anywho.. Here it is.. It's a spoof...
Al: "I'm writing an autobiography..."
"What the hell have you done in life?"
Al: "Well, I was in Judas Priest before they went big.."
" . . . O..k... Uhm, and you think that Single-Event in your life deserves to be told in an Autobiography?"
The album is incredible
The musicianship throughout this production is beyond anything I could have imagined. I know the "thrash/deathmetal" lovers of Priest are not going to like this but I think the majority of us will all agree this is amazing! Throughout every song I could imagine the theatrical production! It will be amazing! I really hope they go through with their plans to do the entire album in a theatrical production. To me this album is a blend of Sad Wings, Defenders and Painkiller with today's modern symphonic sound to it. This is completely different yet still Priest. I LOVE THESE GUYS!
