Fortunately, the HR person swears as well and basically asked if I was swearing AT HIM and he had to say no. So during my interview with HR, I told them when I swear and what I say and my Union Rep said that he had better not come into her area because they swear all the time and he obviously has thin skin. HAAHAHA! I just love it when these fucking babies try to get us in trouble and end up in trouble themselves I just wish this asshole would have been fired! This got me a private conversation with my boss, who surprisingly was laughing almost uncontrollably about the situation, then went out and fired the two worst offenders to our production!
He did ask me nicely to tone it down some, I responded with a "well shit, I guess" Now if my production numbers were not as good as they are, I wouldn`t be able to enjoy this kind of freedom, but atleast I know this!

And this is one of the reasons i have given up on listenin to Priest!
Sure i liked Nostar and Angel, but now it is 2012 and all we had was 2 albums since Rob returned in July 2003,almost 9 years!
And they don't released old stuff, live stuff from the archives, just more stupid greatest hits!
In 2010 i simply gave up,and then after Idol i took all me Priest cd's and moved them a storage area where cd's that never get played hang out!
Kind of like the island for misfit toys!LOL!
I even stopped wearing my Priest tshirts too after that Idol thing!
I was embarassed and still is!
I have moved onto other styles of metal music that feed my metal hunger!
And Priest have been left behind!
I only come in here time to time to see how u guys are doing etc!
I will not buy a live Eptiaph album,no way!
Not even sure i would buy a new studio album either seein it would just not get played!
They are boring these days in my opinion because they do not have new material. I was ready for new non-experimental material in 2007, 2 years after Angel Of Retribution and the band still haven't delivered anything yet besides an over produced watered down rock opera LP in 2008 that sucks.
And now 4 years later they are touring instead of working on new material. They should of canceled the epitaph tour altogether after K.K.'s departure and did the new album first and then hit the world tour. Because they chose to do this Epitaph tour, this 'new album" will NOT be released this year,we will get a title for the album and all track titles,an album cover and 1 sample but I'll bet the album doesn't come out till January 2013. Sad.
They have misused thier time since Rob has come back. They should have 4 studio albums....2005,2007 which should of been Nostradamus...2009 they should of had a killer album out and 2011 another one,it pisses me off big time!

Bollocks. The band has descended into irrelevance. The only people keen to hear what they come up with next are the core dozen or so people who regularly post on this site. The rest of the audience are just keen to hear the same old set they've been cranking out since 82. They are, I'm sad to say, a nostalgia act now and one that can't fill arenas at that. This is not a band at the top otf their game. Being able to play your set competently doesn't mean your at the top of your game. You would hope after 30 years they could do that with there eyes closed. When a band is at the top they are generating excitement among the fans. This band does not do that any more. They are trying to scrape every last cent out of it before they have to start wheeling the Metal God out there in a wheelchair.

Here is an interview with KK, talking about leaving Priest and that he will never disclose his reasons for leaving the band. This man is a CLASS ACT all the way!!!
In a new interview, former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing says he’ll never completely share the reasons why he decided to retire from the band prior to their ‘farewell’ Epitaph world tour.
"It was a set of circumstances that led me to not go out [on tour with Priest] this year,” Downing tells Valley reporter Grace Bailey at his home at Astbury Hall in Shropshire, England. “I was kind of geared up for it, but there was a multitude of reasons. It pretty much came down to an unsettlement on my part with working relationships.
"It's like anything else,” continues. “If anybody out there is thinking it's hard to live with one woman, they should try to live with four guys and hold it together. [Laughs] It gets to be like that, but obviously, with certain things, I just wasn't completely happy with the way things were, with the way it was, [and I just felt like] it was probably best if I stepped down, and I did."
Richie Faulkner was brought in by the metal gods to fill out their sound, joining Glenn Tipton on guitar.
"I wish things could have been different, so I could have continued,” says K.K. “Obviously, 'cause of the passion [I had for the band]. In the [late] Sixties, I was very instrumental in creating Judas Priest, and it was a hard bullet to bite. But I thought that if this is gonna be the way that it's gonna be, then perhaps it's time to step down.
"It was a massive consideration," says the guitarist. "Obviously, the fans, who I love, and many of them have become very good friends. But I just hoped that they would appreciate that I couldn't continue with the way that I felt inside for reasons which I'll… I mean, certain reasons I will never, ever disclose.
"I have been extremely fortunate to have been able to do so many shows and tours and records, and come out of it healthy and well. But I haven't really spoken to anyone about the inner details [behind my decision], really."
Priest band members have publicly stated that they have no idea why Downing retired, with some reports speculating that his decision was based on K.K.’s need to run his 9- and 18-hole golf courses on his estate, which the guitarist has flatly denied.
Hear what K.K. has to say in the Valley interview…
Priest continue the North American leg of the Epitaph tour this week with shows in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Well said man,i got flamed after my remarks about the American Idol and since that i don't post much here anymore!
I left highschool over 24 years ago and left that kinda shit behind!
All I'm going to say is that there is a core group of people (about 6) that I do everything in
my power not to offend or get into a back and forth with. (I respect them)Three of them left posts
after mine that in my opinion sounded angry. One had F**ing included in the post, another wondered
what planet I'm from and another just seemed to be joining the frenzy so how can I not take
that as angry. There was "these pseudo fans" and "Never Satisfied" comments. I said that 14 out of 17
times they were amazing. That's never satisfied? I've seen them every time they hit this area since 1981
and bought every album they've released but because I thought this show lacked a little I'm a
pseudo fan.
I didn't agree that they were that awesome but I didn't leave a single post referring
to any person who did. If you guys think it's just me I even had a private message telling me
they thought that it was funny that people get angry with me because my opinioned differed
from the others. I learned (thank you Jimmy) to not let myself get out of hand and almost
everything I do on here is tempered or thought out (usually) so as not to do what I did my first
year here. So I'm not going to do anything stupid. As negative as my post may be all I was saying
was that it wasn't what Priest has gotten me accustomed to over the years. I didn't say they sucked.
I didn't suggest anyone not go.

I agree and that is why i have lost interest more and more in Priest in the last 2 years.
Tired of the drama and all that fucking shit!
Oh don't worry about the new Judas Priest album 'Widget" Hellrider,I just read the Glenn Tipton interview and he and Rob are "worried about time" about creating the new album. You fucking know what this means don't you?
Read My Mother Fucking Lips: "No New Studio Album in 2012!!!!!!!" I Absolutely belive now that there definately will not be a new Judas Priest studio album out in 2012,no fuckin' way,not now. I predict it will hit the shelves February 2013.
No way will they have it out by summer, not enough fuckin' "Time" and they will not release an album in November or December said Rob as he believes people would "forget about it" I guess? So they have already stated that they are against releasing studio albums that late in the fuckin year yet Rob released the stupid Winter songs album in like November? 2013 Hellrider....2000 and motherfuckin' 13.
For fuck's sake anyways. We can definately agree on one thing from this band.....there is only "1" studio album left in Judas Priest's tank, since this next album will probably be released in 2013 that means there simply isn't going to be an album after that.....how could there fuckin be? When will that one be fuckin released? 2020? Glenn will be like 75 fuckin years old! This fuckin' "sucks". I "HATE" tours....fuck all tours and just record a fuckin album!!! FUCK!

Bullshit, the reason the band is fucked up now is because they've never stuck to their guns and because they don't actually like each other and are doing this, not because Priest still have things to prove or say, but because it is a business arrangement that is mutually beneficial to all parties concerned. They can all make more money as "Priest" than they can apart. Seriously, the Halford band is releasing shit and would be lucky to fill medium size clubs were it to tour alone, Glenn Tipton's solo album is abysmal and only sold 11 copies worldwide and Ian Hill hasn't written a song in over 30 years.
J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
lol Jimmy...."K.K." could be the reason the band is fucked up now as his Nostradamus ideas ( and yes K.K. started the Nostradamus project /ideas ) are the reason the band started to degenerate into a farce,if he would of shut his ego mouth and just followed Rob and Glenn into another normal metal album instead of dreaming up Nostradamus the band would of had a british metal album out already,Rob and Glenn realized that ending a career on Nostradamus seemed wrong....unlike "K.K.'' who was absolutely fine with that being the last Judas Priest album.....go figure....just my guess from what I know....
They were forced into a British Steel reunion tour because Ken didn't want to make another album and was still in the band and the management did not want to tour the nostradamus album like K.K. wanted to because it would not sell,so there ya go...but I do agree that the band & management are rehashing these lame compilation albums/live/best of.....it is a joke so I do agree with that. Now go figure....K.K. is out of the band and Rob and Glenn want to do a normal british heavy metal album again.....its sad to say but I believe K.K. was the entire downfall of Judas Priest starting in 2006 when the Retribution tour was over and when he started to create Nostradamus.
How could K.K. let Nostradamus be the last album in a "heavy metal "band's career? It just doesn't make any sense at all.....I'm glad Rob and Glenn are making at least one more album to top Nostradamus from being the last LP,no matter how good or bad it is it will definately be better than the shitty Nostralullaby album.

They turned into a joke on May 25th 2011 when they went on that shit fuck show called American Arsewipe!
Since that,i have not listen to a Judas Priest album and i am even embarrassed to be a Priest fan!
I won't wear a Priest shirt cause i don't want someone say to me,i saw them on American idol,so i stick with me Gorgoroth and Black Sabbath shirts!
Why i even come in here anymore,i don't know.
There are a few people in here that make laugh and that is why i guess!
But anyways, now with all the greatest hits cd's on the go i guess they are trying to cash in on American Idol fans and maybe, just maybe, they are going to be on Glee with Parental Guidance.
If so,well,i would not be shocked now!
On that note, take of yourselves and of each other!
This band is done. It's all descended into a joke. Honestly, the reality is this band are a joke now. Just a bunch of over the hill rip off merchants. I can't believe people on this site bag Maiden and stick up for these guys who haven't done anything decent since 1990. Yeah I'm sure the band have nothing to do with this, it's all management, Yeah right. I reckon KK left because he'd had a gutsful of this kind of shit. I think the real story is that they agreed to do a farewell tour and end it, the others welched and said "We want to do another shitty album and flog this dead horse some more" and he said "In that case I'm leaving because I don't want to see the band I started degenerate into a farce". Which it has.
And despite what everyone on this site seems to think, Rob has lost it. He just sounds screechy and irritating now.

The drums is the only thing that i don't like about that album!
Yes Retribution doesn't have that "clean" sound Painkiller has or whatnot ect...but for myself I have never given a shit about any of this type of production. I've heard "FAR WORSE" productions out there for what was supposed to be a decent production and Retribution isn't "that bad" in my opinion. Maybe its because I grew up listening to Venom in the early 80's and black/death metal where the production means very little as long as the sound is alright.
People keep saying if Allom produced Retribution it may have turned out cleaner, yet to me I think Retribution has a better production than Defenders Of The Faith does. I think the drums on Defenders sounds like a drum machine and to this day I belive that Dave Holland never played drums on the album at all but rather played during the Defender's tour instead, they just sound so fake to me.
Scotts drums on Retribution smoke the Defenders album by far,yet I rate Defenders at #5 all time and Retribution at #6. If they would of written a track like Demonizer in place of Lochness then I would of switched the two in my rankings. Just my look on it but I get what your saying.
icecreamman wrote:
HA! I thought he would! The only thing that prevents AOR from being higher up on the list is Roy Z's flat production. If it was an Allom produced album, well who knows. Hell Bent for Leather is so low becuase of the filler and becuase it has a great drop off of quality from its predecessor.

I wish I could say the same about Judas Priest so I envy you. I have 12 Priest studio albums,I don't own Turbo,Jugulator,Demolition or Nostradamus. Those 4 albums bother me.Jugulator is the best out of all 4 but I hate Ripper Owens's voice so it ruins it for me. Priest has been my #1 favorite band since 1981 so yeah I envy you. Interesting list, however Painkiller under Retribution I think Hellrider could bust a spring lose if he sees it ha!

Really my list changes from day to day. I do not believe any of the Priest albums suck, and I do not hate any of them. Honestly any of the top 11 could have had the #1 spot. Judas Priest have an awesome catalouge of music.

I love acoustic music,i play 3 types of acoustic instruments, guitar, mandolin and bouzouki!
I also play in a folk band,BUT,Judas Priest unplugged, nah,i never was into those unplugged albums in the early 90's!
I am hoping the next Priest album is really fucking heavy and the best one to date!
We never know!
Priest unplugged would be as bad as them on American Idol!
UUUUGGGGHHHHHHH,still can't get over that,or Turbo for that fact!
There’s no reason why there shouldn’t be an unplugged.
I WILL GIVE A REASON WHY NOT

AMALAD is good, but AOR is far better. final frontier and nost are both best used as a coaster
You Don't Know What It's Like! wrote:
I think Maiden got the upper hand on Priest round about 1986 when they released the "Somewhere In Time" album, which (IMO) was the superior guitar synth experiment to "Turbo".
Maiden then consolidated this with the very successful concept album which was "Seventh Son", while Priest tried to regain lost ground with "Ram It Down".
By 1990 Priest had managed to regain the upper hand (& how) with the phenomenal "Painkiller" album, while Maiden seemed to be running out of ideas with "No Prayer For The Dying" (the first album without Adrian Smith on guitar).
Then tragedy strikes Priest with Rob leaving, but all is not lost as Bruce then decides to leave Maiden - so things are equal again.
Both bands release inferior works during this mid to late 1990's period, but the real difference is when Rob & Bruce decide to return.
Maiden get a good running start with "Brave New World" coming out in 2000, a good five years before Priest's "Angel Of Retribution" (which itself comes out two years after Rob's return, and also Maiden's 2nd reunion album "Dance Of Death").
Then again in 2006 Maiden release one of their most successful albums ever in "A Matter Of Life & Death", while two years after that Priest put out the luke warm recieved concept "Nostradamus" and don't even tour it properly.
Priest now seem to be losing fans, while Maiden are playing to around 25% more fans with each tour.
2010 comes & Maiden release "The Final Frontier", while Priest announce that their next "Epitaph" tour (with no album in support) will be their last (world tour), and to make matters even worse in 2011 annouce that this will be without K.K. Downing as well.
Priest ruled the 70's. Shared the 80's. Got lost in the 90's & have been left standing ever since.

LOL!
Yeah i remember going home and playing the cassette tape and wondering like u did!
And after that it never got played much!
The only thing that saved my metal hunger that year was Metallica's "Master Of Puppets",that album brings back great memories of 86-87 that is for sure!
Unlike Turbo!
Damn it,i am still on this thread!
I have to admit that it does bring back both good and bad memories. I try only to think of the good, but I remember running to the store the day it was released and throwing it on the turntable the second I got home. I was extremely disappointed with it. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing. How the hell can you go from DOTF to THAT? But..... it did have the energy and feel of the times back then and for me those were good times. Turbo was the first Priest show that I ever went to, so that probably helps me not hate it as much as I would. Again, Out In The Cold is really the only song that I ever listen to and still love on that album. It is one of the few Priest albums that I never play and is at the end of my list as well, right next to Jugulator and Demolition.

You are not alone JD,you are not alone!
I still remember that year and man was that a terrible year for metal.
As soon as Jan 1 1986 came metal as we knew it was all over and done with!
After an awesome asskicking album like Defenders they put out Turbo!
Ram it Down was ok and i liked Painkiller alot at first but the more i listened to it the more i felt like what Headbanger said!
They seemed more like an American Thrash band!
Turbo and playing on American Idol are the 2 biggest dissappointments i ever experienced being a fan of this band!
Actaully,25 years later and i still can't listen to Turbo, makes a great coaster tho!
LOL!
The Defenders tour and album is the best, the music and the image and stage was awesome!
All the leather and studs!Awesome!
Well,my opinion isn't the right one I just wish it was ha! Well, while everybody my age was partying, whooping it up and enjoying the Turbo album in 1986 I was NOT. I was so damn pissed off at Judas Priest for doing this to the fans,it was black leather, studs & black cloths with killer metal albums to worship and comming off an album titled Defenders Of The Faith I just couldn't belive what was happening.
It was such a low point for myself in the realm of heavy metal. Priest did Turbo,Maiden did Somewhere In Shit and Sabbath was dismembered,Ozzy did the shitty Ultimate Sin album and even underground heavy metal bands like Exciter put out crappy LPs in 1986.
I spit on Priest for 2 years untill I got the Ram It Down album which still didn't make me 100% happy but I was starting to get there, then by 1990 we finally got another real british heavy metal album. The memories I personally have of Turbo and the era in 1986 were all shit, horrible year for heavy metal with only a handfull of exceptions.
Thats why i hate the album so much and even 25 years later in 2011 I still hate it just the same,I wish they would of never done it. Probably K.K.'s idea haha!

They have more scooters to move around the deathly obese than carts / trollys, so it seems.
As for France in particular, the typical American couldn't even fit in the shower. In Mont St. Michel, it would have been impossible for many to even fit in the small openings that were the passages to the hotels. I imagine that they must keep a large supply of butter up in the lodges for those who stupidly try and get stuck.

I know, I would rather hear the original but that is not what is presently going on and I fall really easy into whining about shit I can't change so I'm looking at this in a way trying to make the best of reality and all the other Priest members are giving their best on stage.
Some live heavy metal music will get me into the spirit. I'm going to listen to some Vader. I haven't heard them in ages.
And I have to tell you one thing: No, Richie doesn't look at all like KK, because KK is very handsome and has an elegant demeanor while Richie in comparison looks butch.
In terms of playing, KK has had 40+ years of practice, while Richie has had what? 20, if he started at 10 or 11 yo.

Sorry guys my mistake!

It makes me cringe when i hear it,i like the intro cause it sounds like The Hellion and rob's vocals are awesome, then, when the bass and drums cuts in,gotta stop it!
That's where i cringe and i got to turn it off!
Sorry guys,hope u won't dislike me or sumthing!LOL,just joking.
I know u won't because we are all heavy metal brothers and sisters and respect each others opinions!
We all have our favs and dislikes and it doesn't mean what i think is good is right or vice versa!
To be honest after Defenders, from Turbo to Demolition i don't really care for!
Then from 2005,AOR til now i do and i am glad we will get one more album from them!
On that note folks,u all have a lovely evening and remember:

It's too bad how all this is happenin when it was first advertise as one more for the fans!
And really, how many true fans will be in those seats?
Pseudo fans that seen them on American Idol and the future Glee!
I know,i know, going on about Glee, but, the way things are going lately i will not be surprised if they end up on that show!
They might as well now,as far as i am concerned they cannot do anymore damage by going on that!
Glee and American Idol are on the same level of the pole for me and that is in the shit zone no brainer TV shit shows!
I sooner poke hot rusty nails in my eyes than ever watch crap like that and for Judas Priest to go on that, well, after 25+ years as a fan i am very dissappointed and sad!
And i don't think i can ever get over it,i don't!
My first big dissappointment was April 1986 when i bought the "Turbo" tape went home and played it on the tape deck!
I almost had a seizure, but, this American Idol thing is way worst than that!Way worst.
Anyways!
But on the bright side at least i got some hard core metal to make me happy!
Ummm, yes that was an Abba song - how did you know THAT?! I unfortunately was a big Abba fan when I was 5 and those lyrics will never leave my brain, no matter how hard I try! DAMN IT!!
But I fear you are absolutely right, it's all about money and doing as little for it as possible. Screw the fans? Whatever, as long as the management makes money. I blame the band as well, because management works FOR THEM! If they don't say, hey, we want this to be a great fan experience and we want to do this, then management does what little they need to do to make the most cash. Makes me fucking sick.

Yup, and it's TOTAL BULLSHIT and something the Priest management SHOULD HAVE controlled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The tickets should go to FANS! PERIOD! Iron Maiden blocks off something like 10 rows. You get a password if you are in the fanclub. Only people with the fanclub password can buy those seats. Then, to keep scalpers from buying them, you have to pick up the tickets at WILL CALL and present a photo ID matching the person that bought the tickets in the first place. NOT FUCKING HARD TO DO!!! You would think that Priest and their management would want hardcore fans in the front rows, singing and screaming their heads off. Now they will have what they always have, lame people that have money to blow on triple priced tickets so they can say they were there.....

I agree with you. Scalpers. I'm afraid since this is the last world tour they are going to do this at most shows.

I am so PISSED OFF right now!! I think it is complete and utter BULLSHIT that the entire first 12 rows to the Joe Louis show in Detroit was sold to a bunch of scalpers within SECONDS of the tickets going on sale. We were on-line IMMEDIATELY and the best we could get within seconds was row 14???? Tickets in the first rows are already on sale on the web for 2X and 3X the ticket price.

Exactly, that is why it should be on Glee!
I think having that song on Glee would be the ultimate, now that they got their foot in the American TV,why not go all the way!
More exposure, sell tons of tix and Turbo would sell more now than it ever did!
All the teenie boppers will be able to sing along at the concerts and everyone would be happy!
I am hoping Jayne sees these posts and gets in contact with the show!
Maybe i should post it on "Mesages For The Band"!
I am actually finding all this so amusing now,at first i was shocked but now,it is very fucking funny! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by velvet_liselle from Sunday, May 29, 2011 4:37:02 PM)

And now back to my present day love of metal! I have been buying and getting into lots of new bands! Stopping drinking helped me to expand beyond the safe metal like Priest,Maiden and Sabbath etc! And plus i needed something new,was getting tire of the same ol same!
For the last few months i was beginning to wonder who my favorite metal band was due to my new discoveries. And as usual i decided it was Judas Priest with Gorgoroth right behind, now, after this Wednesday May 25th 2011 Gorgoroth now knocks them out of number 1! After over 25+ years as my number one metal band they are now gone way down on the metal pole! There are way too many Black Metal and Death Metal bands that come before them! It's a sign of the times and Judas Priest have become a Victim of Changes for me,can't speak for anyone else, just me!

Judas Priest "Turbo" album!
Yeah,u read it,Turbo, after the big disappointment in Priest this week i am taking a trip back to the very first major disappointment this band was to me! Turbo,1986,and then exactly 25 yrs later,American Idol! Oh well, actually i am finding it more funny now than the last few days! it's startin to be joke to me!
I guess there was a reason why i looked for extreme metal bands the last year and half,i must of knew something like this was going to happen!
It's the end of Judas Priest as we know and i feel fine!!LOFL!
That preacher guy was wrong about the end of the world last Saturday,it was the end of Judas Priest i think he must of meant and he was off by 4 days!
LOL!
"We don't need no,no,no,no,parental guidance here! "
If that ends up on Glee i will definitely watch it!
Anyways,2 days have passed and the shock is gone! And i talked to a good bud of mine on this board and this american idol thing doesn't bother me anymore! 2 be honest,at of the end of the day i have far better things to worry about than a music group, sports team,or any other shit like that!
But i really do think they should get "Parental Guidance" on Glee! I don't watch it or that much tv for that matter, but i know of the show!
On that note folks, rock hard ride free and remember, take care of yourselves and each other!

Oh well, whatever,at least i got me Defenders album i can listen to and tons of underground black metal!
Actually, that is not the way I see it. There was a HUGE amount of stars on Idol tonight, which I never watch, but I understand why JP played.
First off NO Idol contestant has ever chose a Metal song until this year! They (JP) got the TOP billing on the show. Priest just got world wide coverage. Richie played his first solo. I think it's good they got this exposure prior to their tour.
Call it what you like, but I think this coverage was a good call. Would have been foolish not to take it.

I am actually listenin to Judas Priest "Nostradamus" album!
I love this album cause of all the different elements in it,sure it is no Defenders etc! I like this more than Painkiller, shoot me if u like, but this is my opinion! Anways,it also brings back memories of my trip to Europe in Sept/Oct 2008 and i listened to this alot on me MP3 player while i was there!
U know at first i was bummed out by KK leaving!
But,after they posted the new pic and stuff last night i kinda got excited!
Maybe this is what Priest needs and maybe this new guy will bring a spark to them.
So like JD and a few others are saying, maybe the new album will be killer!Who knows,we will all find out!
Change is good and i think Priest was in need of somekind of change,be it a new member, or management.
Well,we got a new member and i am looking forward to this new chapter in Priest, maybe,it will spark my interest in them again.
Well on that note folks!
ROCK HARD RIDE FREE HEAVY DUTY METAL GODS AND GODDESS!
Guido I agree. I know this could of been handled better and that could of been handled better but the overall point is "it is what it is". So what if they held out the information on K.K. leaving so they could get more ticket sales, maybe they did maybe they didn't but if they did,so what.
The management sucks thats obvious but if it bothered me that much as some of these people then why keep posting here? Its not like Rob or Glenn are going to read a few people's comments and change thier mind and retire the band cause some poeple think they should?
If these people are "butt hurt" over it,then they should wash thier hands of the band and quit thinking about it and focus on something more serious in thier lives. I am looking forwards to seeing Riche Faulkner in the band, and Judas Priest moving forwards and I really think this next album is going to silence a lot of these people who think they should of retired once K.K. left.

Why don't you leave this forum and never come back. If the band makes you want to barf all over your laptop, then why not leave? I've been into Judas Priest as my all time favorite band since 1981 and I fully support the band going forwards without K.K. Downing, just because he chose to leave the band doesn't mean Rob, Glenn and Ian aren't "Judas Priest" anymore, thats bullshit.
K.K. left...so what...if it bothers you this much then don't come here anymore I mean whats the point? You posting here for the next 2 years whining about K.K. not being here isn't going to bring him back, hes gone, kaput, goodbye. I love Mr. Downing and he is the spirit of Priest, but he is not 100% Judas Priest,Rob,Glenn and Ian are "Judas Priest" too.
Not trying to compare Saxon to K.K. Downing, but when Graham Oliver left Saxon in 1995 Saxon fans thought the sound would be destroyed, but they got Doug Scaratt and in my opinion Doug fits in Saxon better than Oliver did,but I don't think Faulkner fits "better" than K.K. I'm not saying that, but the "sound" and albums may be better with Faulkner than the Nostradamus album "with K.K.".
K.K. leaving the band in my opinion is a blessing in disguise because had he stayed the band would be ruined and we would never get another studio album. Wait untill the next LP is released, you may be eating your words.

Hey Budred!
This stuff is not for everyone i will agree with u that is for sure!!
I too a couple of years ago felt the same as u,and then, last summer, got bored of the same ol Priest,Maiden,Sabbath etc etc stuff over and over for 25+ years.I needed a change.
Then i bought 2 Immortal albums cause i remember JD's post from a few years back, and that was that!
Glad u gave it a listen tho, most people right from the get go call it shit without trying it!
U are an honest person and at least open to give it a try!
I have no idea why this appeals to me,i think it is cause my brain is always going a 1000 miles an hour and this balances it out and relaxes me,believe it or not!
LOL!
I was reading your post about how bad Priest is and how you love Black Metal and how great it is.
I'm not going to say anything negative about you or your opinions but I listened to this because of you.
My personal opinion (only matters to me) is that everything on here sounds the same. There is no
originality. I got through the first four bands and couldn't tell the difference between any of them.
A thousand miles per hour guitars, same with the drums and high pitched, gutteral, and indecipherable
sounding vocalists. But hey, to each his own.
[The Metallian] Thursday, April 21, 2011 9:16:38 PM
And that is the peak of Judas Priest right there,1984!
Best Judas Priest album ever and their image was awesome!
Somehow, after that tour,it all changed forever!
They tried to capture the magic of that year, but, never could get it near it,never, and never will!
I think it was a change in management that was the reason for the fall!
At least i got me Defenders of the Faith album to satisfy my Priest needs when the desire to hear Priest strikes!
[The Metallian] Wednesday, April 20, 2011 8:54:38 PM
It is sad news but there is fuck all to do about it! Really i haven't listened to a Priest album in ages, except Defenders maybe a year ago and a bootleg of Long Beach 84 in feb! I love Priest and they introduced me to metal, but i have moved onto other metal(Black Metal) and get my metal hunger feed there and feed very well!
After 25 + years listenin to Priest they don't really do anything for me anymore! To be honest Priest have been lying in "Palliative Care" since 2006 after the AOR tour on life support! For a while to me anyways, things just seemed fucked!
December was the big news of farewell tour, still, had a gut feelin, and now today KK retiring! Like i said,i haven't listen much to Priest in over a year or more!I think i jsut got tired of the games too, just play some fuckin music!
I bought the 30th anniversary British Steel cd/dvd,watched one or 2 songs, turned it off cause it was like watchin an old dog trying to hop on the couch all full of arthritis! Sad,very sad!
Anyways, now that KK is gone,my fav guitarist and the person responsible for me playing guitar,i won't be bothered with seein them on this tour!
So,i guess me discovering black metal last summer was my ESP in my brain pointing me into a new metal direction cause the end was near for the Priest! The end of an era,it has been a great ride but,all things must come to and end!

Losing an animal does suck bigtime!
And i feel for u JD and my thoughts are with u!
Funny thing is,majority people think metalheads are unkind, insensitive, unitelligent people, but,i think that it is the opposite!
Just because we love aggressive music does not mean we are aggressive and heartless!
Hey, HRMG,Guido and Spa....thanks alot guys. Yeah it freaking "SUCKS" to lose an animal. I'm so glad I put him down today,as I mentioned today was the very first sign of him starting to suffer, after today he wouldn't of had any quality of life and for me to hang onto him for another 3 weeks would of been selfish as he would of been suffering. The hard part is missing an animal you've had for 14 years. Truley lame.
As with all my animals in the past I was holding him when he passed and it was peaceful. I buried him in my back yard next to my other animal I had to put down in December. It was hard digging another hole. "SIGH".
But life must go on. Its funny that a little animal holds so much importance to your life ect... the irony of it all is that we are getting our puppie Friday or Saturday as we had planned for a long time, but we couldn't take him home because he was too young but now will be 10 or 11 weeks old. Yeah losing an animal really freaking sucks man. Thanks again for your kind words my friends.

But I like the 8 songs on it,but not nowhere near as much as I love the first 5 studio albums from the 80's. But me liking AMOLAD doesn't "save" Maiden from claming they are stale and boring, the albums before it suck dating back to Seventh Son being the last decent LP and obviously the Final Frontier sucks balls(I wish it didn't).
Its sad when I look at thier discography and from 1988 to 2011 there is only 1 album I like and its "ok". Can you imagine if they never sucked all these years? And put out an album like The Number Of The Beast in 2011? That would be killer, but its a fantasy. Steve Harris ruined his own band and has no idea whats wrong.
Not turning this into a Maiden discussion,I'm just wishing they were better. You know if Iron Maiden did what they did a few years back on the Ozzfest tour and played songs only from thier first 4 albums...Iron Maiden,Killers,The Number Of The Beast and Piece Of Mind and opened up for Motorhead and Judas Priest ( which they wouldn't as the only exception was opening up for Ozzy on Ozzfest and that even turned into a fight because they didn't headline ) it may be ok to have them on tour, but if not playing the first 4 or 5 albums only,no way.
And Budred,I "can" belive you've never seen Saxon because they don't play in the U.S.A. but only 3 shows once every 5 or so years ect...very scarce. The band "sucks" at "achieving a proper manager". But they don't think they are "that wanted" here in the U.S.,yes they are aware that there are many fans here but they are lazy at getting thier butts over here, but lets face it....
They are not "Iron maiden" and Maiden packs in sold out shows even if every body there doesn't like thier new albums, they are there to see the old albums live and rightfully so,I'm giving Maiden credit for thier old albums yes. It doesn't matter if Saxon put out an album that could beat Painkiller they will never have a huge following.
But Biff said the band doesn't really care about trying to outsell Maiden, they like being "cult" meaning "hidden" and they love the fans they have already. That being said I am not suprised you've never seen Saxon. I'll never see them live, unless I get some money and fly to England.

Nah that line up for me would kick major ass too JD! Saxon, Motorhead and Priest, wow that'd be awesome! J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
Well first off Iron Maiden wouldn't open up for Priest or Sabbath as they think they are above opening up for somebody and with the dull material they write these days its a wonder how they can keep up that kind of attitude without backing it up musically? And Ozzy and Tony (not Tommy) do not get along these days, there is no other vocalist that could front Sabbath except maybe Rob Halford himself.
Ian Gillian I'd hate to hear in Sabbath again, but I'm the only one who hates the born Again album. I'm not saying Ozzy can't sing anymore and I'm not saying he couldn't pull it off but I just hate Ozzy these days,I'm so tired of him just like his song "so tired". But thats just an opinion,I'm sure thousands of fans would love to see it happen. The magic from the 70's they had together is obviously gone, but those albums they left behind still rule Sabbath's discography for me.
The big 3 for me would be Saxon opening up for Motorhead and then Judas Priest headlining. But I'm sure your post is accurate, the majority of fans would like a Maiden Priest and Sabbath tour, just not me.

God I sure as hell hope not! As much as Dio was awsome in Sabbath,Ozzy's time in black Sabbath in the 70's with his 8 studio albums are the best Black Sabbath material and unbaetable in my opinion but that was in the 70's.
Even in 96' when I saw Sabbath they were ok but nowadays Ozzy is just a fucking dumb uninspireing buffoon and I would hate to see him front Black Sabbath again and now that Dio has passed there isn't anybody that would do Sabbath justice. And Iron Maiden is so "dull" with Bruce being such an arrogant dick these days I'd hate to see Maiden on a Priest tour.
Very bad idea for me so I'm hoping that it never happens. If it did happen with somebody singing for Sabbath I'd skip both Sabbath and obviously Maiden and just show up for Priest.

Tommy iomi might not have mentioned this but Dio died. so the vocal choices are Ozzy, Gillian who did one disc about a million years ago that I think only about three people including me liked or Tony Martin, who has about three fans. without Ozzy sabath is relagated to playing average sized bars mid week.
Brian_Evans wrote:
I wouldn't blame Iron Maiden if they didn't want to open up for someone else because Maiden are so huge. Just goes with the territory. Now if this big 3 event did happen it should go like this...
Black Sabbath would be on first because they created metal. (not sure who would be the vocalist though) I guess if it has to be Ozzy then it has to be. lol
Judas Priest second because they had their big influence on metal also after Sabbath.
Iron Maiden third (headliner) because they are the biggest band of the three and also had a huge influence on metal.
Now this is just my opinion and no disrespect in the order. And if you want to throw Saxon and Motorhead (alhough their not metal according to some) in there as some kind of mini pre show thing to warm up the crowd then ok. lol

I agree,i remember being saddened by the release of Somewhere in Time too!
After that blow to us metalheads with Turbo ( I bought it April 3rd 1986),i kept thinking, maybe there is hope with the Maiden release, well, i thought wrong!
1986 was the end of metal as we knew it back then!
It was the big hair and glitter shit, man ol man, what a depressin time that was!
Metallica was the only thing in 86 that feed my metal hunger, but,i could feel there was a turn for the worst comin, and it did!
By the early 90's all my favorite Metal bands went to shit, then came Grunge!UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!FUCK!
Most people got all excited about Painkiller, well,i liked it at first, better than No Prayer by Maiden that is for sure!
But now,i don't really care for Painkiller anymore!
No Prayer, well, that is downstairs in the box of reject cd's,just like the island for reject toys on that christmas show!!
LOFL!
Cheers everybody!

Ya know, J.D., while I hate posting anything in this troll's fucking thread, the IM discussion points you raise here are pretty darn accurate. Just coming in from the afternoon run and seeing your comment about "Somewhere in Time" prompted me to pull out the LP itself (shame not to have the art of an LP!). I distinctly remember how sad I was when it came out. While I still think "Caught Somewhere in Time", "Wasted Years" and even "Deja-Vu" are absolute GEMS and, for that reason alone (plus the art...WAY cool to try and find all the hidden messages) the album is priceless, I also temper that comment with how lame and - even worse - PREDICTABLE the rest of the songs were IMO. Worst? The absolutely lame, long and drawn-out "Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner!!" I was bopping around Chicago when this album came out. The three songs I mentioned above really caught my attention but the rest were pretty blah. "Try again," I think, so went for a nice long walk with the cassette in my ears. GAWD, I almost whipped that tape into Lake Michigan just because of that one song! LOL! While I absolutely loved Maiden before it, I really felt like a "Stranger in a Strange Land" (booooring) and far from "Alexander the Great" (pffff...so memorable, I can't even remember the basic chorus).
Funny how I can remember that rainy day back in 1986 when I almost chucked that tape as far as I could even thinking "running must be damn boring!" LOL!
Still think the album is worth it for the three songs I mentioned above, though. Oh yeah, did I mention the great artwork? HAAAAA!
J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
Yes Brian (you fucking dummy .....) Even I admit the first 5 Iron Maiden albums are totally excellent and yes some of them, not all but some of them are better than Saxon's albums. But the point is....Iron Maiden nowadays will never catch Saxon. Saxon is writting thier best material and Maiden are writting thier worst and that is a fact from an overwhelming %percentage of fan's opinions(like probably 95%) you'll have to live with.
Thats why Saxon is up 15 to 4 here. They are voting for the current Saxon, not the sillyish Saxon from the 80's. Its mother fucking "SAD" that a band like Maiden can sell out arenas that Saxon can't yet when asked about comparing albums in quality the same Maiden fans that bought the tickets vote for Saxon? Its sad man.
Iron Maiden are living off thier first 5 studio albums( JUST LIKE SHITALLICA) while Saxon are living off thier current albums which are better than Iron Maiden's last 10 studio albums......"10" albums man....... not 1,2,3,4,5.......10!!!!!
All these people who voted for Saxon are voting for them because of Saxon's last 8 studio LPs dating back 16 years to Dogs Of War. So this shows the last 16 years and counting Saxon totally blows Iron Maiden out of the water.
Now if the thread were Saxon and Iron Maiden showdown just from the 1980's alone I would vote for Iron Maiden hands down, all Iron Maiden albums from the 1980's blows all Saxon albums from the 1980's away. But thats what is sad, this again shows how much better Saxon is now-a-days from a percentage of people's votes.
These people that go to Maiden's concerts that sell out 60,000 thousand fans just to see Maiden on a whopping percentage are not buying the tickets to hear El Dorado or any Maiden album after Seventh Son,they are buying the tickets to hear songs from 1980 debut "Iron maiden" ,Killers,The Number Of The Beast,Piece Of Mind,Powerslave,Somewhere In Time (yuk but fans like it better than thier nu stuff) and Seventh Son albums.
People are tired of getting watered down material from Iron Maiden, even Bruce's last 3 solo albums "Accident Of Birth,The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny Of Souls" blows all modern day Maiden albums out of the water, but its Bruce not Steve Harris.
And these people who voted here are not being "biased they are giving credit to Saxon for out-writting Iron Maiden in song quality. They are not just voting for Saxon to piss you off, they are sick of Steve Harris and thats what it boils down to. Steve Harris has ruined Iron Maiden and has since 1990.
The Number Of The Beast,Killers and Piece Of mind....these 3 albums are classics and even I will admit that even the best Saxon album Lionheart to me can't top it,thats how cool this band used to be. I was an Iron Maiden fan before you were born as I started liking them in 1982 when I bought The number Of The Beast and have been nothing but disappointed from 1990 till now...thats 21 years.
I do think the debut album "Iron Maiden" and "Powerslave" are excellent but they to me are just barely not as good as Lionheart and The Inner Sanctum, but its close.
However I still do like A Matter Of life And Death. Maybe you should of titled the thread "1980's Iron Maiden or 1980's Saxon"...instead,then Maiden woiuld be up 20 to 0!

Since I'm the one who created this thread just thought I might comment on the situation here. I'm not shocked at the results so far because of biased opinions but I am a little suprised at the low support for Maiden, although it's still too early to declare the winner based on so few votes. I respect all the opinions here ...well almost all the opinions ...lol. Even if some don't like Maidens recent cd's Jimmyjames made an excellent point that Maidens early cd's alone set the bar so high that their basically out of Saxons reach and thats a total slam dunk in my opinion....Ka chunk!! And that "up the saxons" comment is pretty lame and cheesy sounding ...lol! ...but give some credit where credit is due to Saxon for playing classic metal and putting up a decent fight so far even though it's still early.

Metallian, thanks alot man I'm glad I was of help to spark your interest in the realm of black metal, and its cool to be able to discuss black metal with somebody here your the only one that is here on a regular basis that understands black metal, and its refreshing to see that so I thank you! "Some" black metal is garbage as you know but there is alot of it that is pure magic thanks to Cronos!
I first got into black metal in 1983 listening to Venom,Mercyful Fate,Hellhammer,Bathory,Celtic Frost and Slayer's first album Show No Mercy and Possessed "Seven Churches album as these were black metal bands as you know back then,I discovered norwegian black metal in 1993 when I heard about the death of Euronymous and in 95' I ordered Darkthrone and Emperor from a metal edge magazine and was gambling on if it were any good, the rest is history.
And I still love the genre now but as you know it is swapped with unworthy bands but still some great ones shine through it all. Thanks again Metallian, also I'd like to PM you soon to get an update of your collection...there are some bands that you know about that I'd like your opinion about for myself so I can check them out too....you rock Metallian!

Hey man!
Don;t have that but i am going to see if i can find it!
I like it,love this raw black metal stuff!
I have no idea why i find it so appealing.
I like this stuff way more than traditional metal these days!
I think i love the raw kinda like jammin feel to the music!
It is so real and also,i don;t hear it on a radio!
Thanks man!
That Cult Of Daath cd is on it's way in the mail and i also ordered Octagon "Death Fetish" yesterday!
Metallian,do you like Mortuary Drape? I'm not a huge fan of thier later work but this EP released in 91' was written and performed live in 1988 in Italy, these guys are corpse painted black metal veterans,Euronymous used to worship these guys and sold them at his record shop in Norway back in the early 90's.
Into The Drape is excellent and a must have for you if you don'talready have this one.

Good luck to u JD!
In late Dec 2009 i went on alcohol sabbatical.I had to give it up,24 years of drinking and i just could not do it anymore!
The first few months were very hard but now all is well!
I could not believe how much i drank and the money i spent!
That is why now i can buy so many cd's.
I called it alcohol sabatical cause if i had of said i quit and had a drink people get all stupid and say "Thought u quit"!
So this way i can have drinks on St Paddy's Day when we play our annual Paddy"s Day bash this week!
I play many folk instruments and play in a folk band here in Regina!
But that aside,i do feel 1000 times better and glad i did it at 40,it was the right time!I feel like i got a new least on life and i am more openminded and see things clearer than before!
Yes u are right, lungs are not designed to inhale smoke of any kind!
My job is to search and diagnose cancer and i see lots of lung cancer, but some pot smokers will argue with us that only cigs cause it!
Well i wish u luck and u are a strong person and i know u can do it!
Addictions are hard things to break and i know all about!
Yeah I know it Becks,it sucks and I've done it all to myself. I've NEVER smoked "cigaretts" in my entire life...well I've smoked a puff or 2 on a ciggarette 2 or 3 times in my entire life but never smoked a full one but have smoked pot for 25 years now,its not "good" for you reguardless of what people tell you....your lungs are not designed to inhale smoke period, but pot seems to be better than cigaretts in the eyes of the experts but still. I love smoking weed but because of stress I've been smoking too much lately and need to stop and yes the anxiety fucking "sucks"...shortness of breath only because of panic/anxiets at times, can't sleep that much......its lame,I'm full blown "addicted" and have been for years and not sure if I can stop!
Becks wrote:
Wow sounds awful JD, I hope the withdrawals pass soon. I know what anxiety problems are like, having had them in the past myself (not drug related but anxiety none the less) so I understand how awful they are. I hope it all passes soon, and that you can quit if you want to.
J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
Yeah...Marijuana detox/withdrawls.....I have plenty of weed but am refusing to smoke it to save money and the levels of anxiety is crazy, panic attacks and the shitty thing is if I smoke now after not smoking for almost a week I'll get an even higher dose of anxiety...I'm screwed let along bitchy.....fuck i wish I could quit this shit I'd save so much more $cash....".... I quit drinking 3 and a half years ago but can't kick pot.......sweating,insomnia,anxiety,irritable...I'm no better than a freaking heroin addict .....arrghhh FUCK'!!

I try not to think of it! It was the end of a great era of Priest! I still remember waiting for a follow up to the mighty Defenders and then i bought this on tape in April 1986. At first i thought it was the wrong tape! But,it was not and the disappointment that followed continued for years til 2005's AOR was released! I am probably the only person on the planet that don't care for Painkiller. It just doesn't do anything for me,it was Priest trying to fit in when they use to lead the pack! So,yeah,i try not to think of Turbo or 1986,bad year for metal! Except,Master Of Puppets was the album that kept my metal faith that year! Something Priest preached about 2 years before but went back on their word word with Turbo! That April was a sad depressing time upon hearing that album for the first time! Shockin it was and still is! It was the very beginning of that awful hairspray metal period, uugggghhhh! Poison,Winger,Bon Jovi,Warrant and all that shit fuck music!

1. Powerslave,Piece Of Mind and The Number Of The Beast 2. Brave New Word 3. Dance Of Death 4. Killers 5. Iron Maiden 6. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son 7. Fear Of The Dark 8. A Matter Of Life And Death 9. Somewhere In Time 10. The Final Frontier 11. No Prayer For The Dying(Great coaster for me cup of tea)
Virtual Eleven & The X Factor Ive only heard a couple tunes from and never bought so I cannot rate them!
For me Powerslave,Piece Of Mind and The Number Of The Beast are tied cause they are the 3 albums growing up that were staples in my metal playlist! And to me,that is the definition of Iron Maiden and 2 of the 3 would be sad if they werent number 1! I cant have them mad at each other either! U all know what I mean!
Phil is an asshole. He brought Pantera down. I saw those guys 9 times and the majority of them he was so fucked up
on heroin or whatever he was taking that they're performances were lacking because of it. The last time I saw Phil was
in Superjoint Ritual. He sounded fucked up and was a total ass to the crowd. He would stop songs to bitch at the crowd.
He was telling them how lame they were, how he wasn't going to continue unless people started getting into it more.
He said this was the worst crowd, used swear words, and said he would never come back. The funny part was that the
crowd was into him. People were slam dancing and generally getting off and he was a total dick. I've never paid attention
to him since. I have that "Down" album and another and I don't think they're that good. to each his own though.

Well,u might as well steer clear of what i suggested!
Thought i'd try, but, this stuff is not for everyone!I understand that!
Me,i love it,i got so tired of listening to the same ol stuff over and over for the last 20+ yrs that i needed something different and exciting!
I wish i was more openminded a few years back and got into it sooner, but, better late than never!
So i remembered a few years back J.D. posting stuff about those bands!
Gave them a try and,at first the vocals were harsh, but the music,it blew me away!
So as of now, that is all i listen too,i love stuff that most people cannot stand!

Absolutely Metallian!!!!!!! Many great bands,my favorites are the 1980's black metal bands with obviously "Venom" Mercyful Fate (Yes they were black metal!! lol!) Hellhammer,Bathory and Celtic Frost's first 2 albums,Possessed first album Seven Churches,Sarcafago's first album (1987) and Mortuary Drape too these are the black metal bands of the 1980's. Whats funny is that on Mercyful Fate's forum there are people arguing if MF were black metal or not?
And it cracks me up because in the early 1980's around 1984 the tearm "black metal" was alive and well, the media in the underground metal magazines used the tearm "black metal" for bands that were overtly satanic as they got it from Cronos of Venom as he said Venom were black metal, death metal, thrash metal, speed metal ect...he made up all these tearms around 1980 and it just stuck with the metal media when other bands started to emerge in the scene and Mercyful Fate were one of them.
They played more "heavy metal" than anything musically but with King being a real life "Laveyian Satanist" and belonged to the church of Satan back in the early 80's this was "shocking" and now today we are desensitized to all of these kinds of things, but back then it was "dark" and serious,King didn't goof around like he does in the King Diamond band.
And he didn't do many interviews so it made it very "cult" and very dark, especially with his upsidedown cross on his forehead with all his serious satanic lyrics too it was total "black metal" but today these kids think black metal is about corpse paint and blast beats from Norway, when in fact the Norwegians with Euronymous were inspired from these 80's bands and Mercyful Fate were one of them.
Whats also funny is that on lots of Norwegian black metal albums they even say "true Norwegian black metal" as they weren't claiming thier sound to be like Venom or Mercyful Fate, they had thier own brand of black metal. Yet these kids still think black metal has to sound like the Norwegian style.
The early second wave of Black Metal I also like with Mayhem but only with Euronymous, any Mayhem after his death I can't stand. Early Darkthrone, early Immortal, early Emperor,Gorgoroth,Carpathian Forest and Satyricon's first album Dark Medieval Times are cool.
Abigor (from Austria) first 3 albums are absolutely a "MUST HAVE" in your collection if you don't already have them,do anything you can to get them,Verwestung(Invoke The Dark Age)1994 Orkblut(The Retalliation) 1995 and Nachthymnen(From The Twilight Kingdom)1995 these are totally underrated black metal albums and were released at a time when black metal was hidden and very rare these albums capture this. I would go as far as saying that these 3 Abigor albums are just as good as any black metal albums from Norway in the early 90's.
Also check out 3 of Mutiilation 's (from France) albums Hail Sathanas We Are The Black Legions 1993 "Black Melenium" 2000 and "Majestus Leprosus" 2003 these 3 albums I have on CD but they are sought after items and very hard to find but it is true black metal as Willy Rousel started Mutiilation in 1992.
2 of U.S. veteran "Akhenaton" aka "Judas Iscariot" albums to check out are 1998 "Heaven In Flames" and 2001 "To Embrace The Corpses Bleeding" those 2 albums are also a must have, Iscariot started in 1993,first album in 1995 but it wasn't as good. Get both of his other project "Weltmacht" both albums are cool "The Call To Battle"(1999) and ...To Every Beast His Prey" (2001) those albums are cool too.
And somehow if you can get Mortuary Drape's first EP "Into The Drape"(1992 but the album was written in 1987) they are from Italy and were out in 1987 and were one of the first bands to wear corpse paint along with Sarcafago back in the 80's.
There are others but I'd grab those first! I have them all!!

They lost it in 1986 with Turbo. After having Defenders i remember waiting and thinking we were going to get an awesome album,no,Turbo.I still remember how shocked alot of us were in 86.
After that,that was it.
1990 bought Painkiller but for me i can't get into that album that much!
Defenders is where my favorite Priest era is,they were flying high back then!
Retribution i like alot and i don't mind Nostradamus!
But,it all changed after the Defenders tour in 84,everyone was going big hair and silly stage clothes.Very sad!
So nowadays i buy European Black and Death metal, very heavy and it is my cup of tea!
Cheers everyone!
I too was hoping for at least one more album!

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to tell them that if they would of made a Painkiller album for thier last album and tour it wouldn't come close to having a Muhammad Ali syndrome because of the heaviness of the album and songs ....."duh". ROB HALFORD On JUDAS PRIEST's Farewell Tour: We Want To Leave On Respectable Terms - Dec. 16, 2010
George Varga of SignOnSanDiego.com recently conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST/HALFORD frontman Rob Halford. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
SignOnSanDiego.com: Does it feel like the start of a new chapter with the second decade of the HALFORD band starting, and the looming end of an old chapter, with JUDAS PRIEST having recently announced its farewell tour in 2011?
Halford: I suppose the way I perceive my life as a musician is that I'll just continue doing what I've always done. Of course, the bulk of my metal life has been with JUDAS PRIEST, and, yes, we are making this farewell tour next year and probably into 2012. But we do have a few more things we want to say. What we'd rather do, for the time being, is let this information settle, because its very big news for a lot of fans. So, we want to let the firestorm settle down. For all intents and purposes, it is the farewell tour.
SignOnSanDiego.com: Why?
Halford: I don't know, really. It really is for a lot of reasons. I suppose retirement or slowing down, if you want to call it that, I don't know. I think you have to face mortality, that's for sure. Some bands keep going and going, some bands ease off a bit, and some bands stop altogether. It happens to all bands, eventually, and now this is something we're facing in JUDAS PRIEST. So, what we want to do is leave on what we feel are respectable terms, musically.
SignOnSanDiego.com: But JUDAS PRIEST is still playing well and sounding good and continues to be popular around much of the world. Why quit now?
Halford: It's what I call the "Muhammad Ali syndrome." If you get in the ring too much, the whole thing can become really sad to look at and listen to. And you have to ensure that doesn't happen as a musician, especially in the extreme world of heavy metal, because it's very demanding to carry these old bodies all over the place. You try to do the things you could easily do 30 years ago and it's not so easy. What we would like our fans to do is consider that this something to celebrate and not feel sad or depressed about. It won't be all over in a flash.
SignOnSanDiego.com: Does this mean you'll be cutting back from performing with the HALFORD band, too?
Halford: I don't really know. Again, in regards to the comment I made regarding making sure you can go into it and give the kind of performance you do, without letting the fans down — I'm having a great time. Vocally, I'm very strong; I have a lot of energy and I'm doing all the things that are important. So, it's only right to treat both bands respectfully and differently. So, my intention, no matter where I go and what I do, is to keep making metal on personal level.

I just can't stomach seeing them live without a new studio album to go with it,I just can't do it at all. So this is it for me. My memories of my favorite band are from 1980-1981 to 2005-2007 the end of The Angel Of Retribution tour, thats it for me. I don't like the band that much at all from 2008 -2011...I just don't. They watered themselves out of "Judas Priest" in my opinion and its too much of a tease to see them live knowing they could of easily released one more killer album. Its not that hard to go into the studio and record another album...oh forget it,its just as best they give up,like Necroticist said the last album by Priest and the last 2 from Halford are crap so just stop the bleeding already.
I was stupid to think that the new Halford was talking about would be news of a new studio album but silly me. I can't get around it,no matter how hard I try .....I just can't stand this band after the year 2005....I'll give it to the end of the Angel Of Retribution tour so after 2007...this band is 100% "shit". I'm gald all of you have good attitudes and will see the band live again, but not me. I'm a studio album fan not a live show fan so for me the buck stops here unfortunately.
Oh well,at least Motorhead and Saxon are still "kick ass" and Motorhead is releasing thier 20th studio LP and Saxon is releasing thier 19th studio album, while Judas Priest will be stuck at 16 albums with Nostradamus being the final curtain? WOW. A classic "heavy metal" band going out on a sour note like nostradamus is "weak" its "sad" and its "pathetic". Judas Priest will always still be my favorite band but not after 2005,thats for sure. "SIGH" yet again.

I will go see them one last time as I want to take Flora along with me and let her enjoy them. Heh, at least she wont have to learn any new songs. I just can't believe this is the way they chose to call it quits. Very UNJUDAS PRIEST OF THEM.
Like you said, maybe we don't know all the reasons for this decision, but for most diehard fans, we are going to feel let down by this.
J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
Well Hellrider,I do thank you (and I speak for all of us here I belive) for lifting our spirits up as much as you could these last 3 years after the release one of the band's crappiest albums, you've givin us hope when the guys in Priest have NOT. For this I hail you as the best Judas Priest supporter I have ever known.
Unfortunately Nostradamus will be Judas Priest's last studio album and I for one am shocked with utter disappointment and will "NOT" see the band live if I was paid to. I don't give a rats ass about live shows anyways,I have always been a fan of studio records and now we will not be fucking getting one from our favorite band of all time.
I for one think its utterly fucking "SAD" that this band with all this talent is giving up and throwing in the towel while I'll bet the "Halford band" will keep recording bullshit. So be it,this year has been one shit year and why not end it with this shit news? "SIGH". Fuck the "Epitaph" tour....what a "tease" to see them on stage with energy just to know they aren't gonna record us a blistering heavy metal album.
I Know that there may be other reasons behind the scenes but going out on Nostradamus is totaly 100% fucked and its bullshit and I will forever be pissed off at this band for doing this crap. This isn't how a "heavy metal" band should go out.
WHY IN THE FUCK DIDN'T THEY JUST RETIRE AFTER ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION???? WHYYYYYY??? I can accept that they are retiring but couldn't these lazy bastards give us one more fucking studio album to go out on? Nooooooo they have to tour again....well fuck that, the last time I saw Judas Priest live it was 1988 Ram It Down tour and that is the last time I'll see them. I ain't going to see some farewell tour without an album to go with it,so count me fucking OUT.
At least I still have Motorhead and Saxon...both are releasing.......fucking drum roll please.............BAM! "STUDIO ALBUMS"!!! Motorhead is releasing "The World Is Yours" in January 26th 2011 and Saxon is releasing a brand new studio album in March 2011 with out a title yet but they are in the studio right now probably scratching thier heads wondering why Judas Priest is retiring.

I love all the other albums too,but i am partial to Defenders cause of where it changed my life!
I always have Defenders nearby to play, always! On my MP3 player(1G) when i change the albums on it,Defenders and Screamin never get deleted!Never, always there! But time to time i removed and add stuff but not those 2 albums!
i am not a religious person but those albums are like my bible i suppose! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by adrianaec_88 from Saturday, January 03, 2009 6:12:53 PM)

My favorites are Painkiller, Defenders Of The Faith, and Screaming For Vengeance, the three of them kick ass.. but is hard to pick the best... like the best JP song thread, there is no way I could pick one, there are too many songs that kick ass, that are awesome..... The album that change my life was Painkiller (I was born in '88), it actually was the first JP album that I have heard

Thanks Metallian. We really appreciate that. Really. It is also VERY cool that you point out that there ARE differences in our music. That is what I think is our "sound". We try very hard to be sure that the music has our "spin" to it and that it is not a note for note copy of Priest. We purposely do the music our way. Like I have mentioned before, we have never wanted to be Priest, we want to pay tribute to them. It is very important to us that we have our own sound. Besides, I am NOT Rob Halford! Not by a LONGSHOT. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, it is very important that those subtle differences are noticable. Thank you.

This is the best Judas Priest album ever!
Defenders is my favorite of all time and that album changed my life. Now that was when i was 15!Here we are in 2008 and Priest has done it once again!I've waited since 1984 for them 2 put another album to kick my ass and they did! This album has all i ever wanted in a musical release, absolutely brilliant!
I cannot stop listenin to it. Edited at: Saturday, June 28, 2008 2:10:20 AM

What a silly thread!
Anyways the downfall of Priest not at all!
This album is awesome and it shows what great musicians Priest are and that they got the balls to do something different!
I remember 1986 when Turbo came out,man talk about a kick in the nuts!We just got Defenders 2 yrs prior to it and then bang!Along came Turbo,it was like a kick in the head with a frozen steel toe boot!
It took a while to get over the shock,i eventually liked it but not like Defenders!I really could not get into the image they had in the Turbo era! At least they are still looking cool on this album!
This album to me is different but they really are showing their talents here and i am glad that they did this instead of another Painkiller or either one of their early releases!
As time goes by people are going to realize what a great piece of work this is.
I remember the bickering when AOR came out cause people complained cause they did another song on a certain topic etc etc etc!
Anyways gotta go and finish listenin to Nostradamus!

Defenders of the faith is my favorite album!Hench the name! I love AOR! I never did care 4 Painkiller even back in 1990 cause they were giving into the thrash scene and all Rob did on that album was scream! On the new album i had no clue to what to hear! Rob actuallly sings and sings well!
And this new cd is awesome.I guess being open to all kinds of music i love this cd!I can see the die hard metal fans not liking this album!I love all kinds of music and being a big classical music fan this is right up my alley! It is totally amazing and being a musican myself and i play 7 different instruments this album rocks!
I love all the moods of this piece of music, this album is way beyond metal and it kicks ass!
It is sad that people limit all their life to one type of music!
I 4 one have a folk group and we sing folk music, but i have been a metal fan for over 30+ yrs!
Music is my religion!
