i will definatly keep in in mind my good friend.and thank you again. hey would it be allright if i mixed this proteen egg food with there food all the time since it has the calcium and vitamins. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Well, do as you will but you know my thoughts on the subject.
Calcium to the egg-layer! If not, seizure / death will certainly be in her near future. Good luck. | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | dont have the heart to take out the nest guido.lol.singing green finches favorite spot siting on top of it and the zebra love it inside.they sleep in it every night.i think i will just have to make sure they are getting enough vitamins. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Yes sir. That would work. A non-breeder, keep the calcium high is #1. Don't forget to get that make-shift nest out of there as well. Once you take out the egg, it will only encourage her to lay another if there is still a nest. Each egg will take a great toll on her body. That is why you really need that supplement. Egg binding (it basically gets stuck) could easily kill as could low calcium from a non-breeder.
Keep me posted, bro. | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | |
hey guido hope this is the right stuff.it has calcium in it to .thank you very much for tips my METAL BROTHER. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Just up the protein, then. CALCIUM as well. Just like Kiko, then. She is in a cage all by herself and has now laid three eggs. Never hatched, no nest. That is probably one of the worst things you could do.....make a nest. Laying an egg depeletes them of calcium more than anything else. With a nest, you are encouraging her to lay more once you remove this one or she finds it doesn't hatch.
Lack of calcium from egg laying can cause seizures. Watch it, bro. Easy way to lose her.
| | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | no i am not breeding she just happened to lay an egg.excellent about Kiko.did the other eggs hatch.i have all my birds in one big like parrot size cage is it allright if they get at that eggleyers. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Kiko is about to lay her third egg. Keep proteins high and if you have a petstore near, get eggleyers formula. Toss it in their food dish. They lose a lot of protein dropping an egg fertilized or not.
Good luck, bro, keep me posted.
ps. If you are breeding it is a WHOLE other story. More advice to give on that front. | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | YEAH my zebra finch laid a egg yesterday.i cut up some klenex in small pieces for her to put in the nest witch she did but what do i do now.Guido WHERE ARE YOU MAN DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS. |
