...Since 1976 for me...the first time they played the Steelers in the Superbowl. Every one was rooting for the Steelers so I went for the Cowboys. 
Of course the Cowboys lost and I got ridiculed but I stuck with them. 34 years later and I still root for them. And yeah, Minnesota put it to them!
