Good point Ron. Could it also be possible that the US focuses on the money-making trends instead of longevity.  Remember when MTV and VH1 used to play videos instead of shows.  Now we have VH1 Classic and MTV2 that are playing the videos.  It seems to me that in the states music is treated as disposable these days.
