Been said before but my "hair raising" came today in the drive home from the "spa" ahhh...

Calm before the storm going into Nostradamus. The kick into Nostra. So good, I replayed it three times in the car and have it in my ears now as I type. Gold, Pony Boy.

The first CD in itself is a constant hair-raising moment. Each song has a certain brilliance about it; everything from Prophecy all the way to Persecution is amazing.  The pounding rhythms in Prophecy, the chorus in Revelations, the vocal melodies in Four Horsemen, the final verse of War, the vocal layers in Peace, the opening of Conquest, you name it. That's not to say the second CD is bad, but after all that it's gonna be hard to top it.

Here's a hair-raising moment from the Nostradamus album: that decievingly peaceful music that follows Rob's prophecy in The Four Horsemen...it carries that mood of uncertainty even though it sounds relaxing. So good, it's scary!!

To add...starts by sucking you (me) in with Zamfir on the pan flute! LOL!! Damn, I love this song.

My jaw dropped when they did THIS on Jimmy Kimmel (tool) Live.

I also love the bit just before it when he says "Come torment, come sadness"...that's another hair raising moment.

The solo and chorus to Lost Love
Everything in Persecution
Everything in Exiled
The Chorus to Alone
"Shadows in the Flame"
Chorus to "Visions" and the part: "Only time will prove..." until "...All alone I fantasize"

"Give me the joy of madness...", I think it's WOW!! I only wished the speed of the album got faster and faster from there. But it's perfect as it is.

I love towards the end of Nostradamus when Halfords voice gets deep and bassy

They never broke my will
'cause my heart was strong
They would justify
I will survive

First cd never fails to raise the hair in the back of my neck, it's really good! And the brilliant parts (which abound) in the second cd do the same. Another hair raising moment about Nostradamus was that JP managed to pull it off: an album about a really tough subject.

I agree with all of Angry-Rocker's hair raising moments, but I want to include the psycho demented screams in Death. "And I will be your last regreeeeeeet!" "Tearing - every soul apaaaart" "Welcome to my rituaaaaaal". Gives me the shivvies just thinking about it! Yes definitely the italian parts "nella tentazione, cercando la gloria..." I also love the organ part in Persecution just prior to (and including) the super fast "They will not eradicate me, break my will or suffocate me. I will subjugate the hate that they breed". When I listen to it, I picture Glenn playing a crazy old organ up on a pedestal, and rocking it back & forth, a la Deep Purple. (I think that's who I saw rocking a keyboard during a song...Maybe I dreamed it..) Then Rob breaks into his rapid fire lyrics. How can you not love this band?? I'm really quite bananas about them. There is no comparison. So much talent and the balls to go where they want to musically, despite virtually no airplay on the radio & little promotion. Gee, who's in it for the fans and the music. Thanks Rob, Glenn, Ian, Ken & Scott! From the bottom and the top of my heart. XO.

One of my favorite moments is in the beginning of Persecution, where the evil voices are whispering "We're watching you...", "Nowhere to hide...", etc. Makes me think, "Run, Nostra, run!!!".

I'm slightly surprised nobody has yet created a thread outlining some hair raising moments on Nostradamus album.. I'll list some that I know of and feel, if anybody has anymore list them.

01. The aggressive intro just before Prophecy breaks into drums.
02. The guitar solo in Prophecy.
03. End of Revelations when Scott is hammering away in double bass with Rob's vocals preaching "I take this possession for my life etc...", very powerful and moving.
04. The last verse in War (You must hold this threat, from such panic yet....)
05. Chorus in Pestilence And Plague in Italian
06. Beginning of Death, with the haunting voices and the bell
07. The evil sounding symphony at the end of every verse in Persecution.
08. The beginning of Exiled with drums and the haunting voices...makes you feel like you're in hell.
09. Everything during the chorus of Alone
10. Chorus in Visions
11.  Double bass in Nostradamus along with Rob's scream
12. The synpony in the middle of Nostradamus
13. Scott's drums in Nostradamus from 5:30 - 5:37
