I have always had a problem with the whole if you dont beleive in god & the bible u go to hell, even if your a good person and live your life as well as you can. i mean come on just because i dont live my whole life in a way that a book that reads like a book u find in the  fiction section says to. Im going to HELL to burn FORVEVER.
[Before The Rage] Tuesday, May 19, 2009 11:17:09 AM
I've been afraid of dying since I was little.  I think it will be the same way it was before we were born-- we just won't remember it because we won't be around to... if that makes sense :P

Its hard to tell .. the faces are a bit blurry...  But if he had a pre-existing condition,  that was undected,, you never know.

That haooens to alot of really young people too..  after , or during a basketball game, they drop dead.. kids in their teens.  its from a underlying heart condition that can go undetected for ones whole life..  Scary,,

Death is not a subject I really fancy. I just want to live and be happy, before the clock runs out.

Hmmmmmmm.......

I have an interesting comment on the subject.

They just released the man's name who died in the Nashville Music Marathon on Saturday. Apparently a 25 year old Special Ops soldier. As they videotaped the ending, I just took a look at his finish to see if he looked distressed when he finished.

Type "Levi Pigman" when promped by the following link. When the clock hits 2:41:58, he crosses the line and dies moments later.

Well now. Another discussion on this topic? Always good for a stirring debate, to be sure!  At least we are not boring around here....HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dying. Death. Dead. Always good for a theory or ten. I guess it is just our nature to be fearful and/or fascinated by the unknown.  Mankind has always had a morbid fascination with death.  I really think it is about not knowing what awaits. That is kind of a natural reaction. I mean, by nature we want to live. We have gone so far as to create invisible men in the sky that will "save" us from death! HA!!!!!!!! People just don't want it to end, man.

I suppose you're right in that we cannot go ask someone what it is like. Dead people tend to be rather "tight-lipped" about that kind of thing! I lean more towards a belief that there is FAR more in the universe that we do not understand than we as humans even realize.  Now, I do not subscribe to the notion that another man (invisible or otherwise) is going to be able to change my fate but energy and physical laws are much more complicated than we even know!  I cannot sit here today and say that death is absolutely the end but I cannot refute it, either! Part of my agnostic side, I suppose. All things we simply cannot know.

I guess the greater question would be, does it frighten you? Clearly, it does a vast majority of people. Strange, but I have always taken a more practical approach to death. We all know it is coming. We can do nothing to change it. Certainly believing in deities or all-powerful beings gives comfort to those that do fear. In the end though, we ALL get to find out just who is right!  HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On your question,  I look at it from a scientific point,  not religious...  When you die.. you die!!!  thats it end of story.. I dont believe in heaven and dont believe in Hell... I do believe that we all go to where we are peaceful, where ever that image in your mind may be...

the flashing lights people came to see and tunnel and light.. well thats what happens when your brain shuts down.
No Oxygen is getting any organs.. almost like passing out or fainting.. its natural effect that happens to your body.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by icecreamman from Monday, April 27, 2009 12:40:57 PM)

Ummm.  Just curious????  are interested in a job within the subject??? Coroner perhaps???

Forensic is a very interesting field.. Complicated at times..  But I used to work with the ST. Paul Minneapolis police dept, when I lived in Minnasota and was a certified death investigator, for Anoka/wright county.  So I have seen lots of death .. more than I wanted too.. But I look at from the scientific point.. not Oh Iam looking at a dead body .. Its a species, that no longer lives...  You have to be able to seperate yourself from the human emotion, but yet always remember you still have it.. Its easy to lose empathy very quickly..  Ialso worked part time in a Emergen,  room.  at Coon Rapids medical center. I picked the night shift for a reason... More to see and do..  Am I Morbid.... no..

Just curious as to why things happen to people and what makes people tick.. inside,  to do the things they do,

The most interesting thing I ever sat through was actuall interigation of a murder suspect.. I got to sit and watch them interview this person, through camera of course.   And listen to the guy explaine what he did to another human being. And why????   Wasnt pretty,  either.. But it was very interesting to say the least.

The answer to your question about "death" and what it might feel like is quite simple. Read Matthew - John & Revelations in the new testament of the bible and you'll know exactly what's going to happen.  If you have a personal relationship with Jesus then you'll be with him in heaven, if not, you'll be in burning hell awaiting judgement.  Whether you believe in God or not will not change the fact that ALL of us will stand before him and give an account for our lives!

The bible is very clear. Those who believe in Jesus and follow him will be saved on that day(day of judgement) . Those who do not will be cast in to hell and will feel unimaginable pain and torture forever and ever.

Your soul is the most important thing you have. Take care of it.

Thanks for asking the question.

I am a morbid person at times, and you guys might find this strange but I wonder what it would be like to die. Its not something you can go and ask someone with experiance.
