HB, I don't know where you're from, but in Indiana here, we've had days like you've described. It hasn't happend in awhile, but you never forget 'em either. I live near the Windy City, so I can relate to wind chill. Sometimes we have to leave the faucets slightly on so the pipes don't freeze. Stay warm my friend and I hope this isn't what your entire winter is like!! It's 19F, the warmest at this hour all week with 4 inches of fresh snow waiting to be shoveled!!
1 week 'til Christmas and I still have a lot of shopping to do. Nothing puts me in the spirit faster than wrapping gifts!!
Also, who here has played 'Rock Band' or 'Guitar Hero'?? Yep, 42 yrs. old and I played 'Rock Band' the other night. Yes, I was not in my usual state when this happened, and I totally sucked (played drums). My lowest score was the first song w/68% and a high of 88%, and that was on easy. We did try Painkiller on easy and I scored a 77%. My 2 friends and I had fun though.
ps...DF, I couldn't find a 'game' thread, so I posted this here lol Edited at: Wednesday, December 17, 2008 6:59:45 AM |

If you notice in the field there are no trees, whereas your yard has plenty. Even below freezing temps, ice and snow will melt if unobstructed. That is why yours hasn't melted and the field has.

You know, I am now thinking trees. The field has none. As you can see, my yard is filled with trees. Leaves perhaps? Ice wouldn't hit the hotter ground.
Fields are usually mushy as well. You can see that I am up on a hill running down into that lower field. <===city slicker grasping at straws! Not that it bothers me much (NW Tennessee is at a standstill, though), but why is my house covered with ice while that field across the street has none?
Can you tell I am a DEEEtroit city-boy? I say it must have something to do with compost / fertilizer generating heat. Come on farmers, who can answer this one?
