I watched UFC once.....Two sweaty guys all over each other, half the time they're in missionary position?!?!  Give me a boxing match anyday!

Glad there's no appologies for liking this medievil sport...I think 'it's' in our nature to go at it from time to time...but there's a difference between cracking a que stick on someones back versus a battle with sportsmanship (the gore is a bonus for some!!)...I have not faught with pugil sticks since my Marine days, that was and still is an art taught in boot camp...in a controlled environment, man vs. man, what more could you ask for??...

Well, to me, beauty is subjective. So much so that I cannot see the point in the contests. Miss America, Miss World, et al. Far too ambiguous for me to accept a "winner". From what I have seen, they are all pretty good looking. Tough for me to say who is the "best". I mean, I have my preferences, just as anyone else. Same thing with porn...what turns me on may not be the same for others. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always enjoy pugilism. Growing up in a family with three brothers, we practiced it more than most folks do...HA!!!!!!!!!!!! Fought all the time. I do enjoy a good boxing match but the UFC is something all together different. This is mayhem. When it first began years ago, there were not many "rules" and it was almost like watching gladiators! It was WAY too brutal. As it is now, they have made it more about the martial arts which is interesting but there is that element of brutality that simply cannot be ignored. It is very violent. It is also very intricate and very exciting. The "bigger" man does not always win. Techique means something.

Perhpas it is the carnal nature of man to enjoy this kind of thing? I don't know. I am not a violent person by nature. I do not start fights although I have been in a few in my day. I have been beat up pretty good, too! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In my younger days, I considered myself a rather "tough" individual but those days are LONG gone.  In any event, I am not ashamed to admit that I like the UFC. On occasion, I pay for a fight.  It may not be a dignified part of me, but it is the truth!

my 12 year old daughter watched it all, the 4-5 hours of crap earlier where they designed dresses and such.  she was chering for miss indiana.  I watched the swimsuit contest with her then left it.  the whole thing is too much pagentry, its all show, no substance.  none of the girls end up looking real.
porn stars look more human.

Plus, you can catch a tooth if you are lucky.

Hmmm....suppose the same is true in the Miss America competition. Runway accidents do happen...

Yes, it is very brutal. I like it because it has not been ruined like boxing by the promoters that "fix" fights. These guys are the real deal. I mean, it is very hard to "fake" the blood and carnage all over the mat!

I remember seeing in one of my friend's house a dvd that was compilation of videos of UFC and wrestling, but it was all about the worst injuries during those fights, I had to stop seeing it, fractures and things like that.... it hurt only by seeing it   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Sunday, January 25, 2009 2:03:43 PM)

So very true...Miss Indiana (where I'm from), she is not indicative of what I encounter on a daily basis, and although appearances CAN be decieving, she is not what I would consider to be the norm...did she wish for world peace??...that would be new...ahem...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!  Yes, I suppose you could put it that way. She actually watched it with me. Good stuff! If I want to watch T&A, I should think I could do better than a Miss America contest! All too proper for me!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep! You're right, guido! It was held right here in my town! I watched the big UFC fight, however. Big, sweaty men beating the living hell out of one another is far more entertaining than watching beautiful women in swimsuits........................
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even funnier when you consider that the contest isn't held in Atlantic City anymore. It is in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hello Adrian, Sorry to hear you are under the weather.

I never watch beauty pageants. I feel they are a complete waste of time and in recent years they tear the poor saps to death for anything "wrong" in their past. Nothing could be more boring really.
