@Headbanger. I agree. That's why I'm not too concerned about what's going on. Maybe (even though logic defy's it) the two sides will actually work together to figure this shit out. I'm so distrusting of our government that I don't even know who's side to take. Both sides lie out the ass and the GOP is waging such a fear campaign against "anything" Obama that it's impossible to make judgemet or decisions as to what's right. I hate our goverrnment right now. I hated republicans after G.W. but now it's just goverment period. I never thought highly of our government but right now it's just hatred and distrust.

will they all sing the same song, yes, but never at the same time

Willl they sing "Green Eggs and Ham?" Yes, they'll sing it, Sam I am. Will they sing it in a box? Will they sing it with a fox?

in all seriousness, your government, just like mine is so fucked up that frankly a total shutdown might improve things

HA! And the bonus track would be a song called "The Filibuster of Ted Cruz", lasting 21 hours.

But, yeah. A concept album about goverment budgeting would a bit...strange.

Who cares about any of that now. Our government has shutdown!!!

How will this affect the new Priest album?!
[Brian_Evans] Monday, September 30, 2013 8:48:40 PM
I remember you and jimmyjames talking about that. I don't care how many times they rehash stuff because I won't buy it anyway. lol

I will buy the new cd if there ever is one.

[Budred] Monday, September 30, 2013 1:52:53 PM

… I see companies that are repackaging and rehashing and that started happening to us and that was not a pretty thing to be a part of. It’s kind of duping the fans a bit because there are fans around the world that have got to have everything to complete their collection so even if there are only a few thousand of them if you put out a box collection it might be $100, which is a lot of dollars, and so for me that is something that I didn’t get into music for.”

...one of my biggest complaints about Priest. I've bitched about it a few times here. Now to hear one of them say it proves I wasn't bitching for nothing.

Baxtergate is OVER!! Priest obviously paid off Baxter, but there were no details of the settlement disclosed. But at least this bullshit is OVER and Rob can finally kick that POS to the curb where he belongs!!!

Hmmmm...

I think that you can truly call yourself a non-computer-geek when you look at the word/acronym "WOPR" and think to yourself,"Mmmm...Burger King." That or a shameless 'murican.

A perfect comment for the Blah, indeed.

Peace, Love and Mac n Cheese.

Perfect comment for the Blah:

I think that you can truly call yourself a computer geek when you and your coworker have an actual discussion about the WOPR in Wargames and how fast it would be to figure out an alphanumeric 10-length launch code if, as the WOPR, you only had to use a brute force attack and could find every single number/letter individually. Why, just cycle through every single number and uppercase/lowercase letter! If it had to figure out all 10 simultaneously, now THAT would take some time.

Moral of the story? Make strong passwords and always choose Chess over Global Thermonuclear War.

Oh yeah...and don't give geeks too much free time to think about these sorts of things.

[Budred] Monday, September 23, 2013 12:30:21 PM

Glad to hear HRMG got to enjoy Saxon in Michigan. I left for the Cleveland show but I didn't make it. Ended up driving an hour for no reason. Stopped in Boardman and had dinner with the wife. Listened to Saxon all the way home which did nothing for my depression (lol). I still can't believe I haven't seen them yet. I'm not their biggest fan, I never thought alot about Biff's vocals but some of their music is heavy as hell and I can see why some like them so much. I did like their first three albums alot and from HRMG's brief description it sounds like they may have done a bit of the older stuff. If there's ever a next time maybe then. I decided to skip the Otep show next month and at least one of the MRH shows. I joke about it alot but I really do need to cut back a little.

Thanks for the info, HRMG!

Welp, looks like the Dollar Tree is trying to bring Sweetest Day to the West Coast. Don't think it'll work, though. Halloween is just too much fun! A bunch of cards with hearts on them this late in the year isn't going to sell very well. Plus, just like with Valentines Day, any day is good day to let those you care about know how much you appreciate them.

In fact, I'll do it right now.

...

You guys and gals are the best. Thank you for being my friends (and, at times, for being my captive audience to the occasional nonsense that I spew). Here's a gift, from me to you. Enjoy!

Huh. I just read that Wiki. Didn't realize that the "holiday" was so localized. We had a Saunders candy store next to the high school and all around Detroit. Used to make a mad dash to that store at lunch as it was an open hour.

Man, what I wouldn't give for some "buttons" now. Not the ones I see prepackaged but the originals. Bought 'em by the foot!

Wow....how things have changed. Even looking for an image only generates THIS prepackaged garbage! www.amazon.com/BUTTONS-Necco-twenty-2-strip-strips/dp/B000FNB7UO

Hey, I never questioned it.

It was started by candy makers originally to remember the sick, elderly, orphaned but also your friends, family, co-workers, etc. as a thank you for their helpfulness. I've never celebrated it even though apparently it is celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes since the Detroit and Cleveland candy makers promoted it. Now of course, Hallmark has turned it into another Valentine's Day. I always thought of it as non-romantic, which reading it's history, that's what it originally was. Leave it to Hallmark to turn it into another Hallmark holiday!

Evenin', ladies and gents!

Today I went to the Dollar Tree to buy a birthday card. Right next to the birthday cards was a section filled with "Sweetest Day" cards. Is this "Sweetest Day" a new holiday or something? 'Cause I've never heard of it. And judging from the red and pink that's all over these cards, it looks like another Valentines Day. Can anyone confirm?
