The original Star Wars trilogy is classic cinema, the prequels are a waste of time, the only good thing to come out of them was Weird Al Yankovics encapsulation of the entire plot of Phantom Menace into one song, sung to the tune of American Pie, check it out on youtube, it's clever and funny.
I've always thought Star Trek was a good tv show, the movies didn't do much for me at all, can't really remember anything about them apart from Wrath Of Kahn. Ricardo Montalbans portrayal of Kahn is probably the best and most memorable piece of acting ever done by anyone in anything associated with Star Trek, he completely outclasses second raters Shatner and Nimoy and all the other B grade hacks involved in the franchise. The Star Trek movies are to Sci Fi what the Police Academy movies are to comedy, the first few were ok, but after a while it just gets tiresome. Just a bunch of crappy actors flogging a dead horse.
Star Wars ( the originals ) wins it easily for me. |

I enjoyed some star trek movies and TNG show. But still R2-D2s da man.
The mythology and the who freakin story and the expaned universe of star wars is so amazing. I love it.
Hated the prequels-except episode 3 when anakin turns into James Earl Jones.
Ok my Dorkopolis moment is over...though I do have a lightsaber remote control | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Haven't seen Star Trek (sorry, Trekkies), but I love Star Wars!!! There's great aliens, cool space weaponry (like the small moon...er, space station, and the Milennium Falcon, and the giant four-legged robots in "The Empire Strikes Back"), and an awesome storyline.
The prequels are visually great (cool battle scenes, especially in Episode 3), but that one guy who played Anakin Skywalker sucked. I didn't like him at all... ....but he got better when his legs were chopped off. |
