Hey Ron...do you know what update you installed? You would be wise to boot the PC into Safe Mode (hit F8 repeatedly before the stupid Windows loading screen comes up and choose Safe Mode using the arrow keys on your keyboard). Once you log into Windows, go into the Control Panel, and choose Add or Remove Programs, click the show updates box at the top and find that update. If you don't know what update you installed, you can also try Last Known Good Configuration from the DOS window that shows up when you hit F8. Let me know what happens. This is the last week of work for me 'til Jan. 5th. An early Christmas present from Ford Motor Company...thank's guys!!!
My daughter is graduating High School early, in January. She'll be going to IUN in the Fall and will work and go to Vocational during the Spring. I couldn't be more proud of her than I am right now!!!
All in all, as bad as things get, there's still a hell of a lot to be thankful for.

Yeah every city in Australia has a reputable Irish pub (Some have several), which always overflows on St Patricks day..... Half the people in the pub are Irish... how i love living in Australia... no lack of English/Irish/Scottish around here - and we all love our drink.
My Pub is O'Malleys, it's underground so it has this perpetual gloom, the smell of Beer and of course all the cool Irish nostalgia hanging on the walls.
We also have an Irish club.. it's pretty ritzy - haven't visited it yet, and a pub called Union jacks.. it's got a little bit of everything U.K
Best thing about Irish pubs..... PINTS! and not to mention Irish beer you just can't get at other pubs. HI DC and Vail!!! It's great to be on with you all again!!! Not sure what happened to Lana, it's been a long time (for me, anyway) since I've been able to chat with anyone other than WW. I hope everything is fine with her, poor girl has had a lot go against her this year. I hope next year is better for everyone!!! |

...... Don't you just hate the southern hemisphere this time of year... not sure what the temp get's like in Sth Africa but here... I don't know what's worse, the blazing sun or the humidity.
If you can get your hands on a kiddy pool and a shadecloth or if you have and shade in your yard you can let the kids entertain themselves that way. I'm an adult and i still have fun with the kiddy pool.... It seems to be the thing to do here in Australia... every second house has one. They're cheap and can be packed away when finished with. Throw in a few pool toys, water pistols... etc... the kids will get exercise and it will keep them cool. It's been so hot that I have no idea how to combat this heat. We've had the airconditioners on all day. It's 10:43pm now and they're still running. Zoey has moved back into our bed because our room is cooler than hers. But she takes up the entire bed. As little as she is, she decides who lies where. She spreads out so that she's untra-comfortable and we have to try to fit in around her little behind lol.
Friday is their last day at playschool and it's so hot that I can't let them play outside. I'm not too keen on propping them up infront of a TV all day but we run out of games or activites and then I have no option. I can only let them out after 4pm sometimes only after 5pm.. It's that hot!
Anyone got any ideas for me? |

I can only post using the old 'standard version' as I don't have an up-dated computer and it won't allow me to do anything but 'Post'. I can read PM's, but that's it. To answer your question, my CPU automatically installed a 'Windows Update'. After it downloaded, the CPU went into 'Configuring Updates' mode. After that the CPU shut down to 're-start' , which is normal. However, the CPU failed to 're-start' and started to 'Configure Updates' again. Now it's in an eternal loop of re-configuring, shutting down and then re-configutres again. That's all it does. It won't let me re-boot or anything!!! Now, I've put together this monster of out-dated parts to get me to at least ck e-mails and make simple posts, but that's it...AND I'M GLAD TO HAVE THAT!!! I've missed all my friends here terribly, and 'sorry' Deep Freeze, but I don't have my spell check anymore either!!! (lol) |

Hi, Joe!!
I have an idea!! Buy a puzzle!! You and your kids can spend lots of time together completing the picture on the box!!! Put some music on and it's a party!!! I should know. I used to put 1,000-piece puzzles together while listening to the radio, and eventually to Judas Priest.
Hi, Ron!!! Good to see you again!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by joedraper from Monday, December 08, 2008 2:48:09 PM) | | joedraper wrote: | | Feck! What a day!
