LATEST NEWS ON THE RELEASE OF NEW FAITHFUL DEFENDERS ALBUM!!
The Metal group Faithful Defenders announced today a tentative release date for their long-awaited second album! A press release from sources close to the band informed the Associated Press that the album should be ready for release the first week of May, 2009.  Much anticipation has built around this follow-up album to the hugely successful debut "Raw Steel". Mystery and rumor have surrounded the band since they finished studio work early this year.

"We are pleased to announce that the final drum tracks are in the works and should be completed sometime in April..", the announcement read. "The Defenders want to thank our fans for the tremendous patience that has been displayed during the long delays. It has always been of utmost importance that the music be the very best we can offer. Delays, while never expected, do occur and we are confident that everyone will be pleased with the material once we get it out .."

The band started work on this much anticipated album in 2008 but line-up changes and various internal problems have caused the original release date to be moved on more than one occasion. The announcement comes at a time when interest in the band has been waning somewhat. Fans have been clamoring for news of any kind as to the status of the album.

NEW ALBUM UPDATE:

Well friends, we have some great news. Metallark has found a drummer to complete the last few tracks!! As many of you know, Jim (our drummer) has disappeared and , according to MM, is not responding to any calls. We are just a few tracks away from completing the album. A close friend of Metallark's has agreed to help us out and get this thing done!!!!! I am also talking with a new bassist from over on Acid Planet. This young man has told me it would be an honor to play with the Faithful Defenders. I have heard his work and he is very talented!

Those of you that are musicians and have played in bands will understand that, by and large, musicians are a flighty bunch. I do try to be kind and measure my words, but I have experienced this over the years. Perhaps it is the creative mind? We lost Mick (bassist) right after the release of Raw Steel. He just stopped calling and did not answer messages. I suppose the same thing has happened with Jim. It is a great tribute to our group that there are musicians that have heard of us and want to participate!! We are actually known!! WOW!!

I believe we will finally have this thing completed in a few more weeks. Everything is on stand-by on my end until Metallark and his drummer get me the remaining tracks. The art guy is waiting and ready. I am meeting with the t-shirt place this week. All will continue. Hang in there, gang!!! We are OH so CLOSE!!

Ah!! Very good to see you again, ML. I can truly understand how "life" happens. It is so very easy to get lost in these pages and forget that, outside of this place, we all have lives and responsibilities. But life does go on and , sometimes, it goes on with a sadistic fury. It is so very easy to lose that spark we had on those fateful days of November, oh such a short time ago...It is so very easy to let go.

I have been able to hang onto that spark and I think that has made things remarkably difficult for me. I have tried to remind myself that MM, you and Jim are busy. That you do care. That we will get this done. But the passion and fire that we ignited in November has continued to burn inside me. With each day..each week, each month, I have yearned to see it through. I am sure that I have been MORE than a little irritating to MM.

And so we find ourselves here. So close. I do believe I have found a way to get a full CD. The songs previously mentioned will have to wait until Jim or a capable replacement can see to their completion. I have contacted the art dept. and we are all on the same page. The Princess and I set up a sort of makeshift distribution company during the Raw Steel job so we will utilize that to get the CD packaged and shipped.

Everyone that wishes to receive a CD will get one. Additionally, many of you may remember that we had T-Shirts made when we recorded Raw Steel. There was some minor interest in getting those too but I really did not have enough members order one for it to be feasible. With this in mind, I will ask again;

Do any of you want to purchase a T-Shirt this time around? The Princess has blessed my efforts to produce one and I will do so, IF I have enough orders. The artwork from the new album will be on it. I actually have a "Limited Edition" print on my wall that is incredible!!!!! It would make a wonderful shirt and certainly would be a unique collectors item! So I ask you all, do you want one? Maybe two? I have NO idea what they will cost yet. I will have to cover costs and shipping, as you all know. Let's see if this gets any interest.

You just give them away? It took money to make it did it not? Aspects of business I obviously don't understand and your probably not suprised by the either! HA!

As always, our biggest fan!!! Thanks, 'Rider! Look, I am all for making them but it does not make sense to do so if only a couple people want them. The last time we did this, it was the same thing. There were  very few people that were interested. Now, I am not saying that is bad. If it is not that big of a deal to our membership, that is fine. I do not mind at all. The problem is, in order for it to be "cost effective" for me, I will need to have a substantial group that are interested. If I were able to just print a few and give them away, I would. Believe me!
