For the kids? Personally, I think the whole family should be involved in taking care of a dog. If it's just for the kids, then the dog won't stay with them for too long. The less the dog gets to know the adults, the more likely it'll distance itself from them or react in a negative manner if they come too close. Having a pet, especially a dog or cat, is a big responsibility. Sorry to hear about that, Kiamat. Did you guys bring your own sound equipment? If not, then have a pre-planned setup for the mics. Before your group performs, count the number of "steps" between mic stands or have a rope that is the same length as the space between them. That way when the time comes to adjust them for any specific song, you'll all know where everything goes. That was how we did it when I was in choir in high school.
Oh yeah! And have someone in your group be familiar with the workings of the sound system in case you guys have to use someone else's equipment. Always good to have an expert in those kinds of situations. Ouch. That really sucks. I can't imagine getting booed off stage in anything really. I remember being in choir in high school my freshman year and there were times we sucked and we got some polite applause and some indifference early on. We got better as the year went on but we all got an earfull from our music teacher for our "emotionless" performance. But to get booed off stage because of overexpectation? WTF. That is messed up. Hope you have a good rest of the weekend. Just continue to rock hard and ride free!! Ick, if only it had been a happy friday. Just done the most embarrassing choral concert ever- 'carols at the shopping centre', sounds like a nice small gig, but nope, we get put on a massive stage in front of a zillion chavs who are waiting to see some TV talent show stars turn the Chistmas lights on- we got booed off the stage, I'm not kidding (or we would have left, but we had a half- hour slot to fill, and we weren't giving anyone the satisfaction). Not to mention the techs there couldn't be bothered to set up the mics properly- we couldn't hear ourselves, I can't imagine anyone could hear us.
Humiliating, but never mind, many many apologies for this rant.... hope all you Priestites had a great day and have a fine, relaxing (or whatever) weekend! But can you record a Captain's log with it?
Yep Kirk, we think you're awesome too! More so than Pickhead, anyway. (My parents brought me up on original Star Trek only. All else is false imitation! Though they liked the new film)
And a happy friday to all! Trekies can have their very own Captian's Chair from the original series! complete with operational buttons and built in sayings! Not that I would want or could afford this chair, but I would love just 10 minutes in it to press all the buttons and bark out commands like Kirk! Scottty...........Shields are down, ............I need more power! But Captain I'm givin her all I got!
"Scotty.............I know you can do it!............Fire Proton Torpedos!...........Shields at full power!!!!
