Nah, I wouldn't be so cruel. In a nutshell, sweeping can change both the speed and "curl" of the stone. Look at a shot after an opponent "takes out" a rock. A sweeper often will start sweeping the other's rock to get them out of the "house" or target.Speeds it up, iow.
As for strategy, you'll often see what I am watching now: throwing "guards" that will be in front of the target / house. They can try to "curl" around them or hit them head-on to take them out. When I refer to the yelling, it is usually the person / "skip" who threw the rock and is watching the line or trajectory of the shot rock and is shouting at the sweepers to do one thing or another. Sweep with more pressure, less, not at all, etc.
So, when are we going to play?

When I refer to the yelling, it is usually the person / "skip" who threw the rock and is watching the line or trajectory of the shot rock and is shouting at the sweepers to do one thing or another. Sweep with more pressure, less, not at all, etc.
So, when are we going to play?

Nah, I wouldn't be so cruel. In a nutshell, sweeping can change both the speed and "curl" of the stone. Look at a shot after an opponent "takes out" a rock. A sweeper often will start sweeping the other's rock to get them out of the "house" or target.Speeds it up, iow.
As for strategy, you'll often see what I am watching now: throwing "guards" that will be in front of the target / house. They can try to "curl" around them or hit them head-on to take them out. Believe it or not, I watched the Sweden/Canada match yesterday. STILL don't get it but it appears to be shuffleboard on ice...
