I don't think I've actually answered the question about Priests most underrated album. In some respects I think Point of Entry is underrated, people think that album is full of Don't Go type songs (incidentally I like that song, it makes me laugh hehe) but it has some great songs on it, Heading out to the Highway, Solar Angels, Desert Plains etc. So in a way it is terribly underrated.

All the references to cruising, hand holding, stealing hearts and getting high aside that's basically what it's about. Whether or not you agree I'm glad that comment sparked some debate.
As for the album cover I'm surprised that the dark figure hasn't fallen over leaning on that angle and I love how the female figure at the front appears to be naked apart from her high heels. |

She is the unknown, a flicker of light. The maker is there, she will get her wish, and she will be a sinner when all is said and done. My opinion of a very classic artwork. Only the artist could tell us why he chose to portray the album in such a matter.

Not to mention the fact that Rob is really into Science Fiction. That's what I get from the song too, it's science fiction about a "savior" that will take us to paradise (or looking at it now, I suppose it could be about drugs?). And I agree completely Becks, just because Rob is gay doesn't mean every song he writes has homosexual undertones..... I'm really sick of fans thinking every song is gay now that Rob came out. Before no one ever thought they were, but now some people see it in every song. And even if it is, WHO CARES???

Bear in mind I am a very literal person, I don't read undertones very well, but in saying that I find it very hard on reading the lyrics to pick up any gay undertone. Just cos Rob is gay doesn't mean every crazy Priest song is about gay stuff LOL.

| | guidogodoy wrote: | | Since you bring it up with a picture...I say that the female with her head lowered in shame must be the sinner tempted by the figure in black!
Ok, so the lyrics don't really back me up on this one. She can be the Starbreaker, then. lol

I always thought Starbreaker was a Sci-Fi idea too, like a mystical being character or something of the sort....that shadow-shape-person on the left of the album I always thought was either the Starbreaker or the Sinner when I was 11 years old in 1981 when I bought the LP ha!
| | spapad wrote: | | It's about fate interceding told in a grand way in my opinion. I love the lyrics, and no doubt they did feel like it only comes once a lifetime.
| | Becks wrote: | | I completely forgot he is such a big sci fi fan, and the band making it to the top thing is something that never crossed my mind lol. I knew it was about a sci fi character, as Rob tends to write about often. No homosexual undertones or anything there lol.
| | spapad wrote: | | I thought it was evident. Just makes sense from the place in time he wrote it from.
| | Becks wrote: | | That makes sense Spa!
| | spapad wrote: | | I actually saw Starbreaker as a cross between science fiction and also the bullshit bands have to go thorough to hope to be the "chosen few" .

To me it's a typical Priest made up character song, some dude called Starbreaker taking people away to space or something 'star voyage to a new world, lightyear miles away' etc.
Bear in mind I am a very literal person, I don't read undertones very well, but in saying that I find it very hard on reading the lyrics to pick up any gay undertone. Just cos Rob is gay doesn't mean every crazy Priest song is about gay stuff LOL.

I never made that connection to be honest. And reading the lyrics again, I still don't LOL

I'd say that's the most overrated. Apart from Sinner and Dissident Aggressor the rest is pretty average.
