I saw the same picture and have a pretty good idea as to where he lives. I read an article yesterday that say he lived in Paradise Valley, which is beautiful. Funny because it was the first place I drove through my first visit into Phoenix and thought, 'Wow! Phoenix is beautiful', I didn't realize I was in the one place it actually is nice. HA! Your exactly right though, I would respect his privacy, it would be nice to attempt to bumb into him, it wouldn't be difficult, what would be difficult is to know when he would be here. He has several homes all over the world, so it would take some stalking to get info and don't need to end up in jail. Good luck on finding Rob's house. Don't know where it is but he complained about it having been posted online (address, that is) in the recent JP Rockline interview. I have also seen him do an interview from a house in AZ. Not sure it was the same house where he currently resides but there was a shot or two looking out onto the city from his pool area. Someone who knew the area well might be able to put 2 + 2 together.
Personally, I'd respect his privacy but wouldn't it be cool to bump into him in at one of those places us "commoners" frequent? "Why Mr. Halford, I had no idea that you shopped at Walmart too! Did you hear about the sale at J.C. Penny's?" HAAAAAAA!!!!!! | | Hard as Iron wrote: | | It has been ages since I've last posted. I wanted to let you all know, those who advised me about a year ago to just pick up and go with my heart, I will tell you it worked and thank you so much. My wife and three kids came out to Phoenix, AZ, no job lined up and our lives packed up in a Honda minivan and Corolla. We stayed with my parents until we could got situated. I also have my wife to thank because she was the driving force behind it all.
My status now is that I've had a job for two months and we are all settled in living in Mesa, AZ, so if anyone lives in the area, holla at me. Along with this new chapter in my life, also came this superb album that I can relate to in so many ways. Not only has the music been able to ground me and help me through some stressful moments, it has also allowed me to connect with songs like, Exile, Alone, Peace, Sands of time etc..
CROSS OVER THE MOUNTAINS
AND VALLEYS SO WIDE
I WALK AS I WONDER
WITH HOPE BY MY SIDE
ALL MY FRIENDS ARE FAR AWAY
HOW I MISS MY HOME
WHERE DO I FIND PEACE OF MIND
GUIDE ME AS I ROAM
I CRY FOR YOU
These lyrics say it all. Now that I am here, hopefully I can find out where Rob hangs out, since he lives somewhere in the valley.
If anyone has any info on how their performance was and the set list, please let me know, I would appreciate it. Keep the Faith!

Well, I know that they HAD one (look at old LPs and you'll find the address) but I really couldn't say if they ever updated it. Best line of communication that I have seen in recent times is KK's site. Receives and responds. I know of folks who have managed to get things to the band by way of Jayne but I have no direct confirmation of such a thing. Surely, others on the site here do. "Comparisons to Carla and KatrinaIke is larger than Katrina was, both in its radius of tropical storm force winds--275 miles--and in it radius of hurricane force winds--115 miles. For comparison, Katrina's tropical storm and hurricane force winds extended out 230 and 105 miles, respectively. Ike's surge will probably rival the massive storm surge of Hurricane Carla of 1961. Carla was a Category 4 hurricane with 145 mph winds at landfall, and drove a 10 foot or higher storm surge to a 180-mile stretch of Texas coast. A maximum storm surge of 22 feet was recorded at Port Lavaca, Texas. Despite the fact that the center of Carla hit over 120 miles southwest of Houston, the hurricane drove a 15-foot storm surge into the bays along the south side of the city. Ike's maximum surge is not likely to reach the extreme values above 20 feet seen in Hurricane Carla, though."

GAAAAA!!!!! Damn good info to know! I am in TN in massive storm country where electrical codes are mere suggestions. Lost power today, in fact. Clear, windless day. Just happens all the time. The "grounding" in this house is just a joke.
Thanks a BUNCH for that little tidbit, Healer. Something to ask the ol' invisible fence guy when he shows up for more training tomorrow. Wire surrounds both my big wooden house and pool. Let's hope he knew what he was doing...keep ya' posted or, if you never hear from me again, you'll know what happened! JD - YOU SAID IT BEST, WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. YOU CAN'T GO BACK AND CHANGE IT. LEARN FROM IT FOR YOUR FUTURE. DON'T CARRY IT WITH YOU. THE ONLY ONES WHO WILL GET HURT ARE YOU AND THE ONES AROUND YOU. YOU HAVE MANY YEARS IN FRONT OF YOU. DON'T RUIN THEM BY LOOKING BACK. TIME WILL MOVE TOO QUICKLY. YOU COULDN'T CONTROL WHAT THEY DECIDED TO DO. IT'S SAD, BUT THERE SHOULD BE NO GUILT ON YOU PART. Thanks HB, Loripip, Guido, Healer, Vail;
Everything you all said made sense and today I'm trying to put things into perspective. I feel a little less guilty about mourning and I guess I just need some time to process this all.
Healer, maybe it is also a case of unfinished busines as you said, I would have liked to have made my peace with him but what's done is done.
Thank you all for being an ear, it makes situations like these just that tiny bit more bareable.
xxxx
Love you all

I feel lost all over again. I'm in a happy marriage with the best husband and kids so why am I feeling such a loss over this guy again?
To confuse things more, I'm overjoyed that my friend and I made up but I feel I'm betraying her and my husband by feeling so lost over this guys death? |

Hey Joe--am so sorry to hear about your troubles.
It's perfectly normal & natural to feel what you're feeling & think what you're thinking.
They were such a huge part of your past & even though it ended on a mad/sad note, you had the courage to pick yourself up, dust yourself off & start all over again.
And you're not betraying anyone so don't even think that.
It was a chapter of your life & now a piece of it's missing so keep in touch with your friend & hold your husband & kids
It will get better !!
Sending Kleenex's your way !!
MUCH METAL LOVE TO YOU, MY FRIEND

Hey Joe, I'm really sorry about your loss. You shouldn't feel quilty at all. I know I would be very upset if I found out my ex-boyfriend(in my case, 1st love) passed away suddenly. When someone has been such a huge part of your life, good and bad it's normal to feel such strong emotions. Could be a feeling of unfunished business or something. I think your emotions are natural and hooking up with your past friend I think will help you move on and forgive. Good Luck with everything and just remember, "Keep the Faith!" That is a really sad tale, Joe. Personally, I don't think that it is wrong to feel such emotions. Perfectly natural, in fact. I recently learned that a guy I barely knew past high school died recently and I still feel upset about it. Heck, I couldn't even really call him a "friend" but he was still someone I knew and feel the loss just the same. I can only imagine what you must be feeling.
Much metal love, my friend. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by joedraper from Wednesday, September 10, 2008 3:54:52 PM) | | joedraper wrote: | | Hello Metal Family,

IMO a great cover song needs to be recognizable as a cover, but not the same. listened to some Iron maiden cover today (forget who, doing Rime...) and it sucked. sounded like they were trying to sound exactly the same. if they succed in sounding the same, then whats the point, if they fail, then they fail.
never heard fleetwood mac's Green manalishi, but, priest hit it well with Diamonds, and jonny be goode. changed, but similar, yet their own.
any thoughts? |
