I am well aware who he was addressing and why. Perhaps I am not communicating my sentiments as well as I should? You see, it is really NOT about whom he addressed in particular. This is about Murray needing to say ANYTHING to ANYONE for ANY reason. We can spin it off on one person if we want but we fail to see the larger picture. It is not funny. It is not humorous in any way. It is an embarrassment to us and a disgrace. We are not children. We should not act as though we are or as though there is some kind of morbid entertainment value in demeaning ourselves and our site.
You are all entitled to feel anyway you want. I am not your father. I have NO control over what you say. I have an opinion and that is all. I see this as a complete and utter disgrace to this Board. There are a few low-lifes that continue to come here with the sole intent of committing malfeasence. There is NO honor in them. No deceny. No self respect. No manners.
You can take this for what it is worth. If you disagree, you have that right. If the guys were to see what has transpired here of late, I am certain they would agree with me. No...they likely would shake their heads in disgust and simply not return. Hmm...perhaps they have? LONG ago. Big surprise, huh? |

I agree with Ron here. It didn't sound as though the Webmaster was scolding anyone else but Necro, even though he added a couple of rules in light of recent events. And if I remember correctly, this isn't the first time the Webmaster had to respond to his posts.

I took it as Murray taking issue with Steve publicly taking issue with him instead of doing what most sensible people do and send a PM. I didn't take it as a message to us all but rather a calling out of an individual.
I will admit that I'm a bit embarassed that it was directed towards a long time member who should know better, as I have been around awhile myself and consider this person a friend on the Board.
Either way, it's a good reminder that respect is a key ingredient to the longevity of this site and a good rule of thumb on these social sites.

I have championed manners and decency for years on this site. I have, on occasion, behaved in a manner which is beneath me. I believe that, by and large, I have managed to maintain my self respect regardless of the nonsense that seems to go on around here on a regular basis. People are people and there will always be those that simply cannot control their base, ill-mannered personalities. You learn to live with that in a public arena. I have to say, in all my years on this Board, I have had few moments as embarrassing as today's. The webmaster had to come out into the general forum and tell us to act like decent human beings.....
I have not been around as much as usual and that has proven to be a good thing. My time is being consumed with my music (albeit "crappy") and I am terribly tired by the time I have a moment so I have refrained from getting into my usual conversations. I do miss you..MOST of you. I do NOT miss the idiocy. It is sickening to see how certain individuals seem to have absolutely NO problem degrading themselves with their words and actions. No problem at all. Disgusting.
I offer my personal and VERY public apology to MURRAY FRANCIS. I am truly sorry that you felt the need to come out from the "control room" and remind people that we are still living in a semi-civilized world and, as such, we truly need to remember what is and is NOT proper behavior. I am sorry, Murray.
