I would also like to welcome you Niki. I think we, or at least I, have been remiss in our responsibilities as "regulars" to make sure that newcomers know they are very welcome here and encouraged to stay and contribute.

While no system is "perfect" or "fool proof", I believe Murray (webmaster) has done what he can to at least slow-up those that would come here strictly to cause trouble. And there are many. Conversely, there are many very good people here. Friends. If there is anything I can encourage you as a newbie to do, it would be to make friends. That is what is most important, in my mind. That is why most of the regulars are here and why we have stayed over the years regardless of the idiots that seek to breakdown what they cannot ever really have.  Friends.

You will find that there are some great people here and you may even be lucky enough, some day, to actually meet a few of us..maybe even attend a Priest show together, as so many of us have done these past couple years. Heck, you may even make some Priest music together. We have done that as well!!!!

Hi Nicky007, welcome to the board! Click on the information tab and then the link that says All new members read this first. It explains the respect points. You are restricted to the new members topics for the first month and then you will be allowed to post in all topics after that. It's a way to keep the bad apples away (or at least slow them down). I hope you enjoy your time here!

You need at least 50 Respect Points, and you just need to post, make friends, and stay out of trouble. It's supposed to help hinder any potential troublemakers. Don't worry, man. Before you know it, you'll be able to post anywhere.

And while not the biggest fan of Lost Love, I do enjoy giving all of Nostra a spin before going to bed every once in a while. It's like watching a late-night movie.

OK, so we have to collect "respect points" before we can talk with the big guys. I'm wondering how much, and maybe even what, one has to post before getting there. But iac here's a beginning.

I listen to Nostradamus every day. Lost Love is my fave these days. The melody is sooo catchy, and Rob sings sooo shatteringly on that one. I simply can't get enuff of that song, and I can't get enuff of Nostradamus, I'm addicted to it. When I'm not playing it, I'm humming the melodies for myself.

Else Jeff Loomis' Zero Order Phase and Dream Theaters's Black Clouds are spun a lot here, fabulous albums too.

Nicky.

I listened to Nostradamus today, the whole thing right through. That first cd is so boring. The second one is way better.

Beyond The Realms Of Death - Priest.

BWAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If that is how it strikes you, I am fine with it! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I discovered sometime ago that trying to explain the "meaning" of a song is an exercise in futility, not to mention somewhat overbearing. I mean, we all understand that songs mean something different to each listener. And you are right, JJ! There is "Metal" or any kind of music, in all things around us. Songs are written about some very odd subjects and yet, when someone hears it, they interpret it far differently than the writer.

Drive Home can be about anything you want it to be, as long as it touches you in some way. Same with Walk Alone and I Rise. I would never presume to try to define the meaning of the songs for others, even though I wrote them. Everyone interprets them their own way.

And Joe, you are (as always) too kind and so very supportive. Apparently , you are raising some fine children as well.....HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you , my dear!

So it's a song about what you do every day when you finish work? Metal is awesome, you can find metal in even the most mundane of activities.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Brandon. I appreciate all the enthusiasm. No,there is no "other" vocalist. The vocalist on everything you heard is me. The song "Heading Out to the Highway" was recorded on an older, reel to reel system. The song "Drive Home" was done on more modern recording equipment by a different producer. The "band" that did the Priest stuff is Faithful Defenders. We are all (or were all) members of this site that got together a few years ago and recorded a CD.

My new band is not planning any tours. I am FAR too old for that (and of marginal talent at best) !!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really do appreciate your excitement and all, though. It is very nice of you. You are more than welcome to listen anytime. If you care to find out more about the Priest project we did, go over to the General Discussion section of this site and look for The DF/MM/MP Project.  There you will be able to read our "history", as it were. All you need to know can be found in that Thread!

Again, welcome to the board. Hope you stay and become a regular member!

Thought I would take a moment to ONCE AGAIN say "thank you" to those of you that went over and listened to that collaboration song (Drive Home) I did with the guy from Acid Planet. It has spent SIX straight days at number ONE in Metal and went as high as number FOUR on the ENTIRE site !! (Out of almost 3000 songs, ALL genres!)   Some very, very nice comments have been left for us there as well. All in all a very cool endeavor and incredibly gratifying. Thanks, gang!!!
