I like the speed skating they're showing now cos it's short and fast, lol. The stuff they had on the other day was longer and I lost interest after a few laps. Interesting. So this event has "military" roots, then? I suppose it makes sense. I should think they would need to start shooting at each other, though... HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

In the early days before biathlon became a sport discipline they all carried the full backs n shoot with large caliber weapons like the .308 Winchester caliber. Since the 70th they're shooting with small bore (.22 lfb).

I was also thinking the EXACT same thing about the "ski and shoot" event yesterday. Now running on SNOWSHOES and shooting, THERE would be a sport! Watching them trip over tennis racquets tied to their feet, guns going off by accident shooting the guy running in front of you.... |
