That is such a tragic story. A stupid decision but I think that the loss of his children will haunt and hurt him forever. As Dr Phil always says 'you can't take back stupid'. I feel that yes, he was very negligant to not have made appropriate plans but I don't think that this man purposefully set out to send his children to his death. The ultimate victims here are the children. We learn from our lessons in life, sadly, for some those lessons come too late.
