HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ALIVEEEEEEEE.....!! To all; so sorry for my extended absence. Just very busy and still somewhat disillusioned. (Some of you know what I mean).
I have very little time for idle chatter these days. The Princess is a bit worse and I am not much better. The extra activity has been cause for great pain in my world. I do what I can to get by, you know? I do miss you all very much. I think of you often and I wish you all the very best. Other than that, all is "well". It seems to be rather quiet here, although I have not been around enough to really know that. I do hope it is so.

Where, where the hell is Freeze?
Where, where the hell is Freeze?
Well, maybe he went to get an Air Force Parka
Maybe he went to get a Vespa scooter
Maybe he went to get a British flag
Maybe he went to go Mod Ska dancing...

Good day everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend! The football game was fun to go to on Saturday and I won a $100 Visa gift card through my bank's promotion during a timeout of the game. I had been doing that since they first started the promotion years ago! Finally some extra money to throw around! Yay!

So, read the earlier work before the prequel, huh? It does make sense now that I think about it. An author would most likely only do a prequel if one of his books becomes a hit among his readers and pieces missing in it need to be filled or things need to be explained. Plus, it wouldn't make sense to do a prequel if it doesn't have an established base to begin with.
Well, back to the bookstore I go. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

Read the one the Author wrote first. It's probably the most interesting of the two. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Sunday, September 12, 2010 7:36:33 AM)

Good morning, ladies and gents of the Noticeboard! Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. It has been an interesting past 9 years, hasn't it?
Anyway, right now I have a tiny dilemna on my hands: three months ago I bought a book written by an author that was recommended to me by a TA at school. Just recently I decided to wiki the author to find out more about him and his works. Turns out the book I bought is a prequel to another book he wrote years earlier.
So...what should I read first? The prequel or its predecessor (heh)? Any ideas?

Guido, I think your advice is actually better... Oh my bruised ego! lol. No seriously though, you make a whole lot of sense right there. Go with Guido's vote Vail! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Sunday, September 12, 2010 1:01:35 PM)

I say the FIRST book if you haven't yet read the prequel. Sounds really more like Silence of the Lambs than Star Wars. They made subsequent movies to the first then the prequel "Hannibal" showing what the young lad went through to bring him to his loony state in Silence. I own it but haven't seen it yet. No real desire either.
Reading a later novel before the first will distort how you view the second in the temporal order in which it was composed. So there is MY vote...read the first he wrote.

I'd go with the prequel but that's just me... Then again.. Star Wars.. Feck, I hate having to make decisions like this... Ok how about you put both books in front of you mix them around with your eyes closed and then just point to one, when you open your eyes you read whichever one you ended up pointing to.. no cheating allowed!
