When you think about it, if you really wanted to kill someone you could just take them on a cruise, get them drunk and shove them over the rail. If the impact on the water didn't kill them they would surely drown before help came. The man is probably suffering to some degree.  Think he's more pissed he'll be in jail then anything. I know this kind of grief and horror, though.  I remember coming topside on our boat a couple of New Years Eves ago to discover my son wasn't on the pier.  Except for lights sparkling on the water, pitch black was the surface and smooth as glass.  Then the god awful stillness was broken by splashes beneath the peir.  Seconds later he surfaced near the boat next to us, clawing for the pier and gasping for air.  We were lucky!  But it's a memory that I'm sure will take a while to fade.

My daughter is 11 years old and I wouldn't EVER think about telling her to walk 10 miles on her own when it was a nice sunny day let alone freezing with a foot of snow on the ground. Sorry, but this guy is just plain stupid to say the least. What the hell was he thinking of.  The poor kid. The pain she must have gone through before she died...poor mite. The dad deserves all he gets!!
