Go for it Nupe, another album in 3 years, Rob Ian and Glen will be in there 70s ,possibility of a tour declines . I am waitng to see where it lands, I might bite the bullet and fly to Mexico to see them, this could very well be it for Priest @ Guido, I went and looked at my stub, Painkiller "90" my ticket was $30 canadian all in , "86" fuel for life tour was $20.50 all in Lo

Actually, I just checked hotel prices. Because Hyvinkää is a fairly small town most of the hotels in the city and near it are already fully booked (much of them probably by the artists and their crews). The few rooms that are still available cost 300 euros. For one night. Normal prices are like 70-80 euros for a night!
I really need to figure out some way of making this work. I'd hate to miss the show.

As HB I dont often travel to see shows. Last JP tour I was hoping that I could travel for work to a city they were in, then got hit with a travel ban. So far I went to Edmonton to see Metallica. luckily thats less than 3 hours, but only really did that because my daughter wants to see them. its a 12 to 15 hour drive for me to see JP upcoming. just not sure how I am gonna make this all happen. Yup, I feel for most of us! Same problems. When reading Nupe's post, I was thinking the same. Sure, more disposable income now but I am ALSO looking at that same scenario. Costs, travel, time, hotels. I think back to my Detroit '90 Painkiller ticket stub of, what $10-20 USD? (... and smile....)

Regarding the ticket prices... for the first time I'm actually really having to consider whether or not I'm going to see them. Their only concert in Finland is at the Hyvinkää Rockfest, and one-day tickets cost 89 euros. Add to that travelling to the location and a possible hotel room and I'm looking at a potential 150-170 euro bill at least. On the other hand, two-day tickets cost a "mere" 119 euros, so I could max out the entertainment factor and go see Ozzy Osbourne on Wednesday (none of the other bands in the festival are interesting to me). Although that could mean another expensive night at the hotel...
In comparison: in 2011 I saw them at Sauna Open Air in Tampere, and only went to watch them. A one-day ticket there cost 58 euros, plus train tickets there and back which were 29 euros. That's 87 euros in total, still less than just the ticket to the Hyvinkää festival. Granted, I was a student at the time so I got a 50% discount on train tickets; with normal prices the whole trip would've cost me 106 euros. Meanwhile their indoor concerts at the Helsinki Icehall have always been 50-60 euros, and travel there has been almost free because I've been able to use local public transport.
On the other hand, I have far more disposable income now. During the previous years I've either been a student or unemployed, but now I'm in my first full year of a properly paid job and it looks very likely I'll be continuing for at least much of the next year as well. So the idea of splashing upwards to 200 euros to see two great heavy metal acts, one of whom is definitely retiring and another which might follow suit quite soon as well, is certainly tempting.
-------------
As for the new album, it certainly looks and sounds like another masterpiece! Will definitely preorder it ASAP.

Dude, it is most certainly your venue / area! I paid some $55 to get pit tix at the exact same show. Moment it went live for me? I could have gotten seats for $45 each. I just don't know the place. Plus, who wants seats when I could be standing on the floor?
Thanks vail,HRMG ... I'm just in a shitty mood so I posted it.. shit will get better but still pisses me off about the ticket prices not because I'm currently $crewed financially at the moment....I'll recover it just takes time and then I'd be able to afford high priced tickets Etc.. But it pisses me off that they are that high in this economy the way it is now...it's a fuckin Joke especially cause I "am" in a bind with $ cash at the moment and these fucks at the venues/ticket Master rake in dough. And vail I too don't recall paying $200 bucks for GM either last tour and I was Standing fairly close to Glenn up front. Sorry to hear about your financial situation JD. I hope things get better for you soon and that ticket prices go down before the show so you can snag them with your tax refund money. But if not, we always have our memories of the shows that we have been to and a brand new album to look forward to cranking for years to come!!
I'm actually "not" going to Judas Priest and Saxon here in kent wa. I'm not paying $200 plus $bucks to see a fuckin concert when I'm in terrible extreme financial hardship and it just doesn't make any sense to fuck myself further in debt just to see Judas Priest or anybody for that matter. Couldn't enjoy the show anyways because my mind will be on $$$$ instead of absorbing classic priest in front of me. I did see the redeemer of souls show in the Tacoma dome November 2014 and it was superb....saw Saxon headline in Seattle studio 7 October 2013 so I think I'm good to go on seeing concerts anymore. It would blow your mind if you were in my $ shoes $ my priorities are focused on $$$$ and $$$$ only. Come income tax time mid February I could actually afford tickets if they aren't sold out but again...I'm not shelling out $300 bucks to get a decent seat ....the show at the Tacoma dome 3 years ago was a lot cheaper and the Saxon show 4 years ago was even cheaper.
However .....if $$$cssh was no big deal to me and I didn't have to sweat it financially and could throw around money like playing cards then I'd be there . I will 100% be buying the firepower album the day it's released that's for sure. It's not the bands fault for ticket prices and its not the bands fault I'm fucked financially either,so I will hopefully love the new album my fingers are crossed ...but pretty sure my concert days are over. At least the last 2 concerts I've seen was Saxon 2013 and Judas Priest 2014 so I'm good to go. I do wish the rest of all of you a great time seeing the show ,meet and greets etc....absolutely ....if I were in your shoes I'd be going too. Sorry to hear 'bout that, JD. I'm afraid I'll to face the same decision regarding JP in LA. $200 for GA pit. NOPE! I went to their 2014 concert, and I do NOT recall having to pay so damn much for GA pit. I'll just keep my hopes up and wait for a price dip. But if that doesn't happen? Then...next time, fur sure. Were you watching those numbers? They SPIKED against the Eurythmics overnight and then slowly overtook them. That just wasn't normal. I play with computers far too much to know computer-generated numbers when I see them. Either that or people voted in the 10s of thousands overnight! Oddly enough, I was also asked to suddenly identify objects to "prove I was human" the following days. Seems I wasn't the only one to notice. R&R HOF is legit? My ASS!!
I'm still voting, though. Multiple times a day! ;) lol

I believe that the top 5 in the fan vote get one vote each in the actual vote. so 5th is as good as 4th. But... out of 500 votes it probably makes little difference. thinking though the album and tour anouncement help the fan vote. Fingers crossed. What about the $7-10 Ticketmaster "convenience" fee. Like there was any way around it? Hell, it would be more convenient for me not to pay it!
As for merch? Dayum. We gonna throw THAT into the mix, we are talking bank loan here!

Guido,Head Banger,Val,acolytee55,paorcamp,spapad,Becks,HRMG and all our other friends(no I haven't forgotten you guys that don't post often) it's time to get pumped up about another Judas Priest album!!! !!! !!! !!!
It's right around the corner... end of January,February? You'd think it'd be that soon beings they have it recorded and mixed... Just working on album art work and song arrangements... trying to figure out which track should be first ect... Tom Allom & Andy Sneap plus Mike E. all 3 making sure the sound kicks ass. I have a feeling this new material is going to kick buttocks.
I'm very stoked. We are so damn lucky to still have this band cranking out our traditional British heavy metal we crave so badly... even if it could be the last one it's still mind blowing to realize the Priest is still here for us. Awesome!!!! Edited at: Saturday, October 21, 2017 2:06:51 AM

HA! probably. Yeah the nominated members are wierd. Rob, Glen, KK, Ian, all good. Scott. makes sense, with them the longest of any drumber. Dave most successful time, but he should be dropped for his history, and Les binks, who is good but was there for how long?
HAAAA! Dave, eh? Missed that one! Hey, maybe ol' Al will come up with another new album too! "Judas Priest When I Was in the Band...The Pre Nomination Time!"

My 2 cents on the nomination is they should tell them to go fuck themselves. The RRHOF should be called the Music Hall of Fame as most of the inductees are not rock n roll. Priest has had a big influence on a ton of bands that are already inducted WTF, talk about putting the cart before the horse. The people running the Hall are assholes ! I don't need confirmation from them that Priest has historical significance. Just saying

Acolyte posting- I voted as well and I am happy for them, but part of me wishes they tell the Hall to get stuffed as some of the bands they have put in before they were even nominated, blabbermouth.net has an interview with Rob, and he is open to playing with KK if they are inducted, cheers all, countdown to new album!

Yup, I work in order to leave! Heh. Funny you should mention the huracán. It is just about ready to blow down here on its way across the States. It certainly isn't Houston so we'll see what tomorrow brings!
You should get off the plane from time to time! I guess you can't stop traveling. I hope you enjoyed Brazil even knowing you always find a way to amuse yourself around places. I hope everything is going well in the north with the hurricane and stuff. It's been looking pretty bad on TV.

Yeah, I would have rather seen Volbeat open. The new album seems to have a few decent songs. Of course I got a disk with the tickets and have not listened to the whole thing yet. should work on that I guess. Headliner was good. All that matters. I had a chance to go but St. Louis was the closest and that long a drive to see a band I had seen a bunch of times in their heyday before they got all "cool" to see and mainstream (BORING, from the Black Album on, IMO) just didn't make me really consider it. Especially, as you mentioned, with Gorija. Megadeth with SCORPIONS (NOT the other way around) would be the better ticket, IMO. Again, not coming close to me.
Good deal, though! Glad to know someone with your good tastes thought they still put on a rockin' show!

Was quite a good show. next time I go to this venue I will spring for better seats, was a bit high up, never been there before. Gojira was sort of Meh, A7x did a good job, not nessesarily my cup of tea. Metallica mixed the set up well, good pyro, good energy. well done
good system for getting to the show also. no parking anywhere in the area, they set up some special bus routes, and have these random parking lots in the middle of nowhere. you hop a bus from there, come out of the show, hop a bus back and no traffic. worked real well.
came back and worked this afternoon. need a nap now

Since they separated this forum from the main site I thought that they just wanted to forget about this site...probably that's why you cannot create a new user now...maybe it was just disabled completely
it seems to be pretty much abandoned anyway except for the few of you who are posting regularly

Good info but how long ago did that happen? Are we talking last month or years ago?
Might as well post this in public to save others the effort but I tried for an account for Acolyte yesterday with a new email addy. No deals. Hit the same "no email confirmation" subroutine server-side here. Registers the email but no confirmation is ever sent. I'll try to send an email to see if anything comes of it. Here's hoping for that birthday present, Acolyte.
I once change my e-mail, I could'nt log on after that either. But I mailed Murray Francis and explained my problem to him, then he set it right for me again.
