So, who was calling for Music Marathon pictures? While I didn't run with a camera, I DID take this wonderful shot of my feet after 13.1 miles! Notice the lovely burn marks up to the socks. Nice white prunes thanks to all the sweat / water I was dumping on myself. Like running with an extra 5 lbs of water in your shoes! HAAAA!
Whatta ya mean "crazy runners" HB?

Back from the marathon and all went well. Pulled off a 2 hour time for the half. Not bad as it was close to 90 degrees today and the course (first time for me) is just loaded with killer hills.
Such killers, in fact, that someone died. Sadly, I saw him. Came in on a stretcher right behind me. It was seriously hot. 30,000 started and thousands dropped out.

BLEGH too hot for me, I hate the heat, especially when running. I've had heat exhaustion/heat stroke (whichever it was) once and that is more than enough. I don't remember much, except suddenly lying on the ground when a moment before I had been playing a game of touch rugby, lol. And feeling very hot and ill.

MG, I really don't know. Weather said it would be low 80s but it was higher. 86, easy. Very little to no shade on the course and bright sun. Dangerous mix, as you saw.

Thanks, I am sunburned on just about every exposed part and am positive that I'll feel it tomorrow but I'm pretty happy with my time. Not a personal best but I didn't want to push things today. I was really glad to see how well this race was organized. People lining the streets spraying you down with their garden hoses and watering / sports drinks / med at every mile marker. Could have EASILY been like Chicago last year. It was HOT!
