Yeah, our group will be tough, NZ have already been written off by many, but I think we will cause problems for those teams. Thats a pretty tough group. Slovakia was first in our qualifiyng group. Italy is always a danger, and Paraguay are far from being write offs too. Well, you will have the same advantage that we do, anyway - Italy is usualy a bit to confident for their own good, and that usualy works against them.

Becks & Guido, I will gladly keep you up to date with the WC. Thankfully politically things have sort of been ok. There have been a lot of major striking for higher wages strategically done in a few weeks leading up to the WC but they came to an agreement so that seems to be ok.
I believe there is a more visual presence of police force etc but I think it will be ok. I pray that it will be. The government is calling for everyone to just chill out and 'behave' during the cup. Lets hope they do.

Ah, KEWL, Joe! Do keep us posted as to any pertinent "inside" info on the games. I am one of a handful of Americans who actually enjoys watching the WC. Alas, like ice hockey, they really don't televise much (if any) of the games here. Sometimes I luck out and can see it on the Spanish channels but it is hit-or-miss.

Becks, it is so cool here! The spirit is so cool! We've got everyone with their supporting country flags flying and every friday the whole country is wearing our national team's jersey. The kids are all hyped up and at school they've got a little count-down board in the classroom. Some of the teams are arriving already and it is such a festive feeling.

Friday went very well. Another rockin fun night in Vegas. Crazy people and loads of fun. I swear, its like an entirely different breed of human being is out after midnight. The people are SO very different from the "day" crowd! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Hope you all enjoy the day. For those that are lucky enough to have the holiday "off", enjoy it! Light up the barbeque and spend a little time outdoors! I did that last night (steaks and shrimp) and likely will do it when I get home this afternoon!! The people are SO very different from the "day" crowd! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Hope you all enjoy the day. For those that are lucky enough to have the holiday "off", enjoy it! Light up the barbeque and spend a little time outdoors! I did that last night (steaks and shrimp) and likely will do it when I get home this afternoon!! Morning to all and a VERY Happy Memorial Day. Spent most of yesterday in my usual style; perched in my recliner and barely able to move. Practice today so I must find a way to muster up the strength I will need to get out the door. Anyway, it is nice and WARM here in the desert and THAT means a little less pain for me. Always a good thing.
Friday went very well. Another rockin fun night in Vegas. Crazy people and loads of fun. I swear, its like an entirely different breed of human being is out after midnight.
