AZ is nice and all but let's talk about ANOTHER home-town win.....MICHIGAN STATE vs. ND!
What a great OT win. Trick play and all. OPA! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Painkiller87 from Monday, September 20, 2010 10:13:01 AM)

Oh my gosh what a weekend! Saturday the University of Arizona was able to beat the University of Iowa 34-27 here at home in a thriller of a game! Being out there was crazy, it was a sold out crowd and quite a few Iowa Fans were there too. Then it was back to relaxing on Sunday watching some PPV Wrestling and doing some gaming. My weekend was great! How was everyone else's weekend? Hope everyone is well and having fun as always around here!

Thank you, one and all! Its always so nice to see I have such wonderful friends here on this Board. Reminds me of days long passed. I do check occasionally but really just have not felt the desire to post. I appreciate all the PMs from you guys. Good friends all...
As mentioned, I am just very busy with the band and caring for the Princess and myself. The band thing really gobbles up my free time. We play a lot and practice constantly. Add to that the time it takes to work on new music and you can clearly see that there is VERY little time left to chat! We did manage to take a short vacation in August to the beach (I believe I posted a pic or two?) but, other than that, we are just SO busy. The Princess' youngest has moved out and we are ONCE AGAIN enjoying the bliss of a "child-free" home. For THAT, I am truly grateful! HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
I think the Princess is going out of town this coming weekend. Her and her sisters are going to the condo down in San Diego for an "All Girl" trip. Read into that what you will... HA!!!!!!! I have a show on Friday so I will be laying VERY low during her absence. Kind of looking forward to it, really. Just me and the cats... Well, you are all up to date, as it were. My love to you. My continued distain to the other...

Heya Freeze, great to see you!
I hope everyone is well, Craig and I are at home at the moment (home being with family in our home province) so he can catch up with family before he goes away. There is currently a big storm sweeping over the country, so heaps of super crappy weather lol. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Friday, September 17, 2010 9:05:46 AM)

I have very little time for idle chatter these days. The Princess is a bit worse and I am not much better. The extra activity has been cause for great pain in my world. I do what I can to get by, you know? I do miss you all very much. I think of you often and I wish you all the very best. Other than that, all is "well". It seems to be rather quiet here, although I have not been around enough to really know that. I do hope it is so.

Ooh, the weekend, I am finally back off to uni (was supposed to be leaving thursday, but, ya know, the weather was good, the river was high and I have a new slalom kayak sooo- no chance of going until I had to).
Hope you get time to take it easy and get better Freeze! It has been very quiet, we have been (mostly) good in your absence .
How have the gigs been? Weren't you guys going on tour or something or has that already happened? I missed a few weeks here in August.
Nice to see ya here, Deep Freezer. Here's hoping you and the Princess get better really soon.
TGIF, ladies and gents. Ready or not, here comes the weekend!

So, read the earlier work before the prequel, huh? It does make sense now that I think about it. An author would most likely only do a prequel if one of his books becomes a hit among his readers and pieces missing in it need to be filled or things need to be explained. Plus, it wouldn't make sense to do a prequel if it doesn't have an established base to begin with.
Well, back to the bookstore I go. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
[spapad] Sunday, September 12, 2010 2:16:24 PM
Read the one the Author wrote first. It's probably the most interesting of the two. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Sunday, September 12, 2010 7:36:33 AM)

Good morning, ladies and gents of the Noticeboard! Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. It has been an interesting past 9 years, hasn't it?
Anyway, right now I have a tiny dilemna on my hands: three months ago I bought a book written by an author that was recommended to me by a TA at school. Just recently I decided to wiki the author to find out more about him and his works. Turns out the book I bought is a prequel to another book he wrote years earlier.
So...what should I read first? The prequel or its predecessor (heh)? Any ideas?

I say the FIRST book if you haven't yet read the prequel. Sounds really more like Silence of the Lambs than Star Wars. They made subsequent movies to the first then the prequel "Hannibal" showing what the young lad went through to bring him to his loony state in Silence. I own it but haven't seen it yet. No real desire either.
Reading a later novel before the first will distort how you view the second in the temporal order in which it was composed. So there is MY vote...read the first he wrote.

I'd go with the prequel but that's just me... Then again.. Star Wars.. Feck, I hate having to make decisions like this... Ok how about you put both books in front of you mix them around with your eyes closed and then just point to one, when you open your eyes you read whichever one you ended up pointing to.. no cheating allowed!
