I hope they win too HRMG! And yep, that is one of the songs from ToE live that is a downloadable song for Rockband 2, along with Prophecy and Eat Me Alive and I think maybe one other, I can't remember at the moment LOL! Cool stuff! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS from Thursday, December 03, 2009 3:17:50 PM) | | HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS wrote: | | AWESOME news Becks!! Not to mention, this song goes way back to their roots and if they win it will hopefully put Priest in the mindset to give us a RIP OUR FACES OFF MEEEETAAAAAAL MASTERPIECE next time around!! | | Becks wrote: | | Ok peoples! True, Freeze. The metal category is good this year, no Metallica for one LOL! (although they've been nominated in the hard rock category, for a song released on an album that was nominated last year? How the heck does that work?! lol) I suppose I just cringe when I see the likes of Lady GaGa getting nominated for song or artist of the year - what's happened to music that means something! But I am sure the Priest boys would be well chuffed to win, and are happy they got nominared. The ToE Live version of Dissident Aggressor kicks ass too, I think it should win I'm not biast hehe. It is quite natural for us, as fans of Priest, to dismiss these "awards" as inconsequential but they are VERY meaningful in the music industry and actually quite coveted by artists. They are a vehicle through which an act can skyrocket sales. They are an acknowledgement of achievement. They are prestigious. There is a lot to be said for an act that can put "Grammy Award Winning" in front of their name.
I think that we, as Metal fans especially, tend to look upon the Grammys in a different way simply because our genre rarely receives the recognition we feel it deserves. And , when it does, we remember the debacle that was "Jethro Tull". Our music just does not generate the kind of respect we feel it should. Nonetheless, when a member of Rage Against the Machine gets SO upset that he stops the show by climbing onto the stage and refusing to leave, we must take note and understand that our 'heroes" think quite highly of these things. They do mean something. |

It might be Priest. It might not be. Good morning fellow Priest fans

Well, well, well!!!!! So our favorite band has another Grammy Nomination under their collective belt. I had not heard that Becks, thanks for sharing!!
We all know how this story ends, but I must say that it makes me very happy to know that Judas Priest, almost 40 years young, are still relevant and recognized in the now!! Let's see if the likes of Coldplay and such can make the same claim 40 years from now!!!!!!
No matter the outcome, I am a very happy Priest fan!!!!!!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Becks from Thursday, December 03, 2009 12:09:59 AM) | | Becks wrote: | | Ok peoples! Come on over. I'll make up a batch. Don't think I could send them. As Vail described, they are usually filled with meat. Bring some of that Marmite stuff with you. HAAA! | | Becks wrote: | | What's a tamale Vail? LOL I have heard of them but don't know what they are. | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Whew!! Back from L.A. Oh yeah!! Also brought back some dozen or so tamales from the family Thanksgiving feast (well, there's ten now since I just ate two). Mmmmmm...tamales. |

Here's another pic. You can see the bread and the stuffing inside. Oh! And when you eat it, you take off the corn husk and eat the bread and the meat inside.
