Couldn't agree more - my son is 23 now - has one of those crippling debts u mentioned and cannae get a job anywhere! The chance of him getting housed is zero, mainly due to the amount of immigrants here - but thas another story - so i have this grumpy, unemployed lad with scads of qualifications going to waste...he HAS worked, but like u say - for peanuts...soon as he gets a job the government dock our benefits which we have to ask the boy to make up - is a no-win situation...

Nobody actually 'employs' younger people anymore, they just take them on as interns for peanuts. Apparently in the modern workplace, degrees/qualifications are essentially useless, so, after graduating from uni with little but a crippling student debt, you are expected to continue to live off parental charity until you have gained sufficient work experience to get a real job.
