@Guido, thanks. I'll check the theatres you mentioned for a Nov. 3 show. The riverwalk may be a good idea. We walk every Sunday(5miles) anyway so that would be cool. I'll read your post again and look into some of your suggestions.

Greektown! If you are into Greek food, it is a must-stop. Depends on when you go, as well. Look to see who is at the Fox Theater, Greektown (not to be confused with the area) has a casino (called the Greektown Casino...what a surprise), I'd see who was playing at Joe Louis Arena (last place we saw Priest), you might catch a hockey game or even football as all are in that area. No major parks but you can jump on the People Mover and get a good tour of the city as it runs in a big circle. Go to the top of the Renaissance Center if you REALLY want a view. You can go for drinks or food. It sits at the top and both spin so you can see beautiful views of the city and Windsor on a good day or night. Belle Isle is a park / Island that isn't much but good for a car tour. Great parks are further north. Did you see the pix of Harpos I posted for you? Vacation thread. While it would be great to catch a show there, you do NOT want to hang out there at night. No problem at all in the venue itself and I even park on the street but don't get lost in that area. If in doubt? Head south into Grosse Pointe. Drive too far south and you'll hit the lake! Drive Lakeshore to be sure. Beautiful houses and all of Grosse Pointe runs along the lake.

I'd say "RiverWalk" and the Atwater Brewing Company (both along the Detroit River) but November is COLD! Fishbones for good music (all downtown) and food and even St. Andrews Hall is worth a look to see who is playing. Tons of museums (Motown is worth it, DIA - Detroit Institute of Arts, etc. if you are into such things. Urban sprawl, though. You won't find much by way of "natural areas" unless you head north. Clarification, by north I mean hours to the north!

Good start with what I mention above. Hell, you could spend a DAY in the Ren Cen alone! Park there and take the People Mover around. Only parking cheaper is at the casino and getting a free stamp at the cage. THEN take the People Mover around!

@Guido. What would one do in Detroit in November to have fun. May go to Harpo's and would like to find something to do the next day. Pittsburgh has "Station Square" and Cleveland has "The Flats". Entertainment districts with restaraunts, bars, nightclubs, etc. Does Detroit have such an area. Any suggestions. Open to other things also. Nice State parks, etc. Just looking for ideas.

...i was watching "Pawn Stars" a couple of weeks ago and one of the owners was given tickets to this camp as a birthday gift and he got to sing with Roger Daltry of The Who.(his idol). This was the first time that I've heard of it. I told my wife it would be pretty wild if Priest would do it and about two days later I saw Demonizer's post. Very cool!!!

The show is on VH1. I don't know if this particular camp will be aired on VH1, but with Priest and all the other rock stars that will be there, I'm betting it will be. The show is called Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. I've watched both seasons. Pretty cool show!

I have never written a song in my life either...but, it is for ALL levels...beginner to expert. I have written poems before...aren't many songs just poems put to music?
I don't know what s most exciting about the thing...Deep Freeze got to be in a band for a bit and loved it...I always wanted to do that, but never had the chops or time or, dare I say it, the balls, to do it. This camp is giving me that opportunity to do that and much more. I am super excited to be able to meet the guys, but I think even more excited about the opportunity to LEARN from them and all the others.

They say in the brochure that they will give us a link to share with our friends and family so they can stream the performance live. I will post it here for all of you so you can watch. Hopefully I will do you all proud!!

AWESOME! I'm hoping to win lotto so I can come too haha! Not that I can really play an instrument proficiently enough, or sing for that matter.

I can't wait to see you on TV when they air it!! My hubby wanted to sign me up to sing, but I've never written a song in my life, so I said no. I'll live vicariously through you! Definitely come back and give us all the details. You are going to have the time of your life

You are too modest, Demonizer. Also a victim of the 2008 "roll-forward" when Murray switched the servers and made many 2005 (or slightly prior) members pushed up to a join date of 2008.

Your "modesty" is saying that you started what is arguably the most popular thread on this board "a few years ago" and you even go on to explain to a spec on a flea why you use your colors and how you (and others) chose names.

One drastic change in the site since last you appeared? When you put a spammer on ignore, you no longer see any sign of them. Sadly, many of us are now forced to use it, lest we be inundated with nonsensical crap 24/7.

Days of yore, my friend. Hail to those who still consider Zork to be a milestone in computer gaming. Myself? Oregon Trail: "BANG!!"

When I started this thread a few years ago, we decided to all give ourselves a JP nickname, and I chose to have the green text cause it looks cool on the black background and distinguishes me from others. Kinda reminds me of my old Epson Computer and playing Zork! (That's how old I am!)
[Tania2194AD] Saturday, August 31, 2013 2:40:41 PM
nice conversation
so much colours here: red, green,yellow...just like a traffic light

why are you writing green text DEMONIZER?
do you like green, plains?
like a caterpillar
what , kicked out from Greenpeace?
when you turn into butterfly, you may go to Vegas (JP concert).lol

as i remember one guy here wrote red text
well we have the last one - yellow
interesting who will take it, maybe you hamburger

hey Mister Hamburger  last time you look so quite,
silent
you can make a good business
if before that when your retire , create 150 000 JP crosses right here, then you may go
but each cross should be different, in different colours
don't haste, you have a time and you had already made 10 signs, then you have 149 990
c'mon man, you do it good, do it right
then everybody and i believe that you are really true fan of JP!

and one moment Mr. hamburger why were you writing so little message (greetings to ROB HALFORD). What can't make your message more better? don't have a power?
it's disrespectful to MG.
like from pipette, SHAME TO YOU FAN
