True, Freeze. The metal category is good this year, no Metallica for one LOL! (although they've been nominated in the hard rock category, for a song released on an album that was nominated last year? How the heck does that work?! lol) I suppose I just cringe when I see the likes of Lady GaGa getting nominated for song or artist of the year - what's happened to music that means something! But I am sure the Priest boys would be well chuffed to win, and are happy they got nominared. The ToE Live version of Dissident Aggressor kicks ass too, I think it should win I'm not biast hehe. It is quite natural for us, as fans of Priest, to dismiss these "awards" as inconsequential but they are VERY meaningful in the music industry and actually quite coveted by artists. They are a vehicle through which an act can skyrocket sales. They are an acknowledgement of achievement. They are prestigious. There is a lot to be said for an act that can put "Grammy Award Winning" in front of their name.
I think that we, as Metal fans especially, tend to look upon the Grammys in a different way simply because our genre rarely receives the recognition we feel it deserves. And , when it does, we remember the debacle that was "Jethro Tull". Our music just does not generate the kind of respect we feel it should. Nonetheless, when a member of Rage Against the Machine gets SO upset that he stops the show by climbing onto the stage and refusing to leave, we must take note and understand that our 'heroes" think quite highly of these things. They do mean something. |

Good morning fellow Priest fans

Well, well, well!!!!! So our favorite band has another Grammy Nomination under their collective belt. I had not heard that Becks, thanks for sharing!!
We all know how this story ends, but I must say that it makes me very happy to know that Judas Priest, almost 40 years young, are still relevant and recognized in the now!! Let's see if the likes of Coldplay and such can make the same claim 40 years from now!!!!!!
No matter the outcome, I am a very happy Priest fan!!!!!!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Becks from Thursday, December 03, 2009 12:09:59 AM) | | Becks wrote: | | Ok peoples! End of a long day. Went to get my daughter today. Drove half way to Charlotte, and the traffic was awful. On the way back it went from awful, to parking lot. Two hours to cover 48 miles on the interstate, really kinda sucks. Thank god I finally got to an exit I knew a back road around the rest of the mess, or it would have been 3 hours to go 48 miles. Good night everyone, and let's all try to not take Monday so hard. Ok, that's not going to happen. I hate Mondays. Night! |

Good morning fellow Headbangers

Am running a little slow this morning after celebrating a close friends 40th birthday last night...talk about the years flying by!!!!
Chicken on pizza??? And I thought taco or Hawiian pizza was gross...ugh!!! Some things just weren't meant to be!! |

I'm with you on the chicken topic!!! Definitely should be banned from pizza! Unfortunately I'm far to dependant on tabasco on pretty much anything. When I was pregnant with Zakk I used to carry my very own little bottle around in my bag and I'd put it on everything.. I remember having it on cake and dropping a few drops in my coffee.. I'm thankful that that stage is over lol.
I shall return later! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Sunday, November 29, 2009 8:59:00 AM) | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | TABASCO????!??!?!?!?!??!!!!!???!?!!??? My sincere thanks to all of you that wished me well yesterday. Again, I truly appreciate it. And so begins another day here in Priestville. I hope for the best and I brace for the worst. I have to say, Ron's comments in Free Speak were well written and well taken. I like to think of myself as a rather "smart" guy but I am at a loss as to these fine folks that continue to come here and look to be troublemakers. Just makes no sense. Especially if they are who some say they are. Why degrade yourself that way?? Baffling.
Ah well, there is no poop in MY pudding today so I shant worry myself about it. Nothing I can do anyway. To quote one of the songs we wrote; "Why don't we just enjoy the night...?" HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I know we are in deeeeeeep "doo doo" but this game is like no other on the schedule! Anything can happen. My Bruins are on a winning streak and 'SC is faltering. Ripe for the picking, I think! Anyway, I won't know until 7 this evening. Oy! What a day this is going to be!!
