Safety experts say the alarming image is designed to teach drivers to always be prepared for the unexpected. The illusion is to be placed on the road outside École Pauline Johnson Elementary School in West Vancouver in Canada and will be accompanied by a sign which reads: ‘You’re probably not expecting kids to run into the road.’ Council bosses in the area say that the illusion will encourage drivers to drive defensively, as though a child could run out into the road at any moment. The image will be removed after a week. Been a massive earthquake in a city on the South Island called Christchurch, I used to live there, and ironically don't remember ever experiencing an earthquake in the 3 years I was there, but heaps of small ones in the nearly two years I've been back on the North Island! Parts of the central city are in ruins, but there have been no deaths thank God, two men have been seriously injured and there have been other minor injuries. Water mains have burst and seweage lines have burst too, hopefully that is all under control by now, or soon.
