I'll throw in something very solid to the argument. I just had bloodwork done which came up perfect. Still, my regular physician preemptively sent me to a gastro. +$40 copay + three hours of my time. Both his nurse, him and me were scratching our heads about why I was sent to a gastro specialist with normal bloodwork. Still 3 hours waiting + $40. Odd thing was that night I went for a 7 mile run. Felt great until AFTER the run. Sparing the details, it got me back to the gastro again as I was really feeling ill (caught something in his office is my guess!). +$40 today plus $175 Rx as they weren't covered on my Rx plan. Doc only poked my stomach asking where it hurt and prescribed a general antibiotic! $40 for THAT?! WTF!!

I could only imagine what he REALLY made on both visits. Even better? I get a monthly phonecall today from some idiot who has the unfortunate task of asking about my health. THEY call but put me on hold for 20 minutes to only ask if I have any questions about my health. Only one I could think of was "why are you calling me...it raises my blood pressure." Bureaucracy at its finest. US healthcare system (aka Obamacare) SUCKS!!!
[Becks] Thursday, November 08, 2012 8:29:49 PM
Well I was over simplifying things - taxes everyone pays go towards paying for our public health system.

the government didnt pay, you did.

I am torn on this, I live in a country with socialized health care, and we were shipping pregnant women 5 hours away to montana to give birth.  honestly, I know as a man I will be killed for this, but on the overall medical spectrum, a normal birth is fairly simple.  C section, sure thats more involved, other complications, but a basic birth, we should be able to handle.  need knee surgery, sure no problem, see your DR, from that first visit to surgery, 2 years.  go to the USA, drop some cash, the same surgery you needed in 2 weeks.

I dont like the idea of people going bankrupt, or dying because they couldnt afford health care, but

and the idea our goverment proposes that we have the same service for everyone is crap.  a pro hocky player (thats on ice to you down under folk) tears up his knee, he could have surgery in 24 hours.  get hurt at work, 2 weeks.  know the prime minister, similar.  same guy who would have been 2 weeks if he got hurt at work gets hurt at home, could be 2 years.  bogus.

Not saying this to get in an argument by the way, just pointing out that big bad socialism isn't always a bad thing. In certain aspects. Capitalism certainly hasn't been going that well to be honest.

The US is far from socialist, and as far as I can see (from all the way down here) isn't actually heading in that direction. Speaking from a country that basically has socialised health care, which while it has it's problems, is pretty bloody fantastic. Example, all my maternity care, pre and post natal, and my c-section as well as my hospital stay, etc etc, cost me nothing.  Paid for by our government.

Bud
The world may as well end, though that was only an injection of humor! I hate O`drama, he has destroyed the US as we knew it, and the fact that he was re-elected is amazing after the first four years. How the hell can it get any better when he forces socialism down our throats and breaks any damned law he so chooses to to force this on us. We need a business man to run the country, not a lawyer that is a loop hole specialist. Our economy is big business, that is why we need a businessman to run the place. Checks and balances brother , not check after check after check!

Oh man wish I had seen it on Fox, would have been hilarious! I did think Romneys concession speech was very gracious though.

Man, you're entitled to your opinions just like the rest of us but it is a little funny that you would rather
see the world end then have Obama as president. I was watching a video on youtube and someone posted that they want
him assassinated so we can heal. World ending and killings are what we need? OK.
Working together might help more but with these kind of attitudes...
On another note, it was hilarious watching his acceptance speech on "Fox News". You could see their anchors with a look of
disgust on their faces having to sit through it. I was in heaven. Then Bill O'Reilly, he was almost in tears! Excellent stuff.
What a Day!!!!

Me? Easy answer. I was sitting in my house 30 seconds from my bed. Didn't have to take the "L" to get there either.

BTW, Biden has more hair.

Politicians wont work together because none of them give a crap about the people.  they are ALL just there for themselfs and to take care of their friends.

A little clarification before I get hate posts. I don't hate all Republicans just all Republican politicians.
I am also open minded and if I really believed that the two sides were working together my hate would go away.(Now if only Fox News would.)
I was a little early on my Electoral college comment. When I made it Romney was winning the popular vote but losing the election.
Even though it ended up the other way that system is not fair. Remember Gore (yeah he's a dick) he got more of the popular vote but lost.
I hated him also but it wasn't fair to him just like it wouldn't have been fair to Romney last night. Also I love living in Ohio but there should be more
to an election than just winning this state. (I know that's not technically the case but the news would lead you to believe that.)
I'm glad it's over.
Now work together damn it.
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, November 07, 2012 1:05:44 AM
Ok, Obama just finished. My question? What the hell are all those people doing in the Chicago cold at 1am?! No jobs? Hell, I have to work tomorrow to pay for all those politicos! Who bought all those little flags? I hope they were made out of recycled Detroit Tigers Championship shirts and caps.

(ps. I think Biden has porcelain teeth).
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, November 07, 2012 12:26:50 AM
SAME! I assume that you are speaking of George W.? No matter. Same went for his father! The electronic vote I placed today was a laugh. "I vote for the person who will vote for me" was pretty much what the electronic screen I pressed actually read! I even had helpers to a touch-screen! Amazing! Can't poke a box, I say that you can't vote! Still, I live in a "red" state. Didn't matter a damn what I voted. Not a "key" state like....um...Ohio! Not even ALL Ohio, just where people outnumber the cows. I still argue that Gary Coleman would have fixed the ills of this nation. No matter that he passed on years ago.

Now, more important than Obama's "just made enough electoral college votes" speech that keeps me awake, what about Canada? Much more important! What of the poor mushroom people of Nova Scotia?!? The Royal Pudding might be spilled!

[Budred] Tuesday, November 06, 2012 11:58:41 PM
I put my "Vengeance" vote in today and I must say that I'm quite happy. As wrong as it is I'll say it to the world
or at least you guys, I still hate Republicans because of George Bush and vowed to myself that I would never vote
Republican again. I hate Fox News also and the way they divide this country. "Fair and Balanced" Are you kidding me?
After saying that I also have to say that I agree with Guido about our "Great" system. Even though it would mean I wouldn't
be so happy they must get rid of the electoral college. It just doesn't seem fair and aren't we the only ones using this system.
Why?
Lastly my hope for this Country is that the freakin' politicians actually start working together. "Bi-freakin- partisonship"
can get this country back on track. As bad as I hate Republicans, they hate Democrats the same. This has to change.
It's almost like civil war the way we carry on. I liked this Country better before Bush and Fox News and I've voted both ways over
the last 28 years and in my opinion it was never as bitter between the two as it has been since the two mentioned above.
Let's hope for a better future. Peace!

Publicity is always good I just thought it was a little corny naming a President of Heavy Metal.
To me president sounds unmetal.
Let one of those other guys carry the title so metal fans can look at it and laugh at their expense and not Rob's.
That's why I didn't post about it or vote.

I didnt think anyone would take away his god status.

I also didnt think that he would beat ozzy, but he was ahead.  that gave hope.  Bruce Dickinson went out in the first round I think, its just a popularity contest.

but might have been some good publicity for Rob and Priest.

I'm surprised anyone took this seriously.
Everyone knows him as the "Metal God" so why reduce him to a mere president?
I didn't vote once and quite honestly expected Ozzy to win. (Bigger fan base)

Rob Zombie beating out Lemmy is equally as funny. Another oddity? Having James Hetfield in the running at ALL!

I can not believe the sqauling Ozzy who looses his voice half the time and Rob has filled in for him on many occasion actually won? That's just too stupid.

I see I'm not the only one that thinks something is foul here!! I would vote on my phone and then on the computer and the numbers never changed. Hey, maybe the computers were kicking out the Halford votes, just like in the regular election? Who owns those computer, huh????
