Very interesting, I believed on a new hard album, but for me are the changes in their music styles very good! I wrote, if every album like the other albums, it would be boring, but they experimented much, this is what I love on Judas Priest. But, I still love the album Nostradamus and I believe on the implementing on stage one day,  the style of this album isn´t death, the album after the hard new album, will be in another style again! The band composes what the fans want to hear, they give feedback, there are also many Nostradamus fans! I love everything about Priest, so I can buy it, without to hear it, the new album will be a surprise for everyone who loves Priest!

Anyway, I think after the production of the new album, all the Judas Priest fans will be satisfied and happy again!

Sounds like their trying to get that "Painkiller Swagger" back.... it's about time. Richie Faulkner bringing some fresh young writing blood and guitar playing to the table. Everything is set up for a killer album. Just what I was talking about over a year ago.

Hey Hellrider, looks like we're getting what we wanted.

ROB HALFORD: Next JUDAS PRIEST Album Will Be 'A Real Hard And Heavy And Tough Record' - May 16, 2013
Justin Tedaldi of Examiner.com recently conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford and guitarist Richie Faulkner. An excerpt from the chat follows below.

Examiner.com: For the next project, I know you're all working on a new studio album. How's that coming along?

Halford: Fantastic. Really, really good. We've been saying that it's very important for PRIEST to kind of reinforce again a lot of the elements of what we do and what we're about to follow up from [the band's previous album] "Nostradamus". As much as that was a great moment for the band in the concept world, we want to get back to the roots of what we've been about for so many decades and just make one more great heavy metal album, meaning one of many. What we're trying to say is the next one is going to be a real hard and heavy and tough record.

Examiner.com: Are there any completed songs at this point?

Halford: Yeah. We have four tracks that we've got in the can. We're kind of looking at them again to see what else we can do, and the main reason we're saying that is because now we have Richie on board. And Richie's brought this great life, you know, this extra dimension of energy that has really been kind of infectious. We've all grown to love Richie as a player and as a songwriter, so he's added something new, and that's just kind of reenergized some areas that we're about. We've been writing a ton of material; we've got so much stuff in the can. We're tracking at the moment; we're just taking our time. It'll be ready when it's ready as we've been telling everybody, but it's a good message and a good signal to tell all the PRIEST fans that there's a new PRIEST record on the way.

Examiner.com: Will Richie be part of the writing process for the new PRIEST album?

Faulkner: Yeah. I take a recording rig out wherever I go; you never know where inspiration's going to hit you. When we were out on tour I took a little recording rig… sometimes when you're onstage playing, you get a little flash of inspiration when you [need] to scream into your phone or whatever. And the guys would be walking past, they'd hear it, and say, "Aww, that's a great riff, you've got to record that." So when we all got together — we got together for a couple of months last year in 2012, me, Glenn [Tipton] and Rob, and we threw all the ideas that we had in the hat, and we went from there, really. They've been great — you know, they could have just said, "This is the record we want you to play on," but they [said], "You're in the band and we want you to contribute," and they welcomed most of the ideas. It's just been a great creative team from the get-go, really. I've been a part of it and couldn't ask for anything more.

Yeah, I've been reading everything I can about it. Like the epiphany he had while snorting coke while driving down the road and decided to switch to alcohol.
He certainly had some sort of pre-existing liver condition but I am still looking at something that gives concrete info about the spider bite.

The neurotoxin in the venom of some of them can be quite nasty. Letting one go for a matter of hours (much less days) can do major damage. Here, as I said, the Brown Recluse and Black Widow are the most common (with the BR EATING the BW). I've known people who have gone blind in an eye just because of shit luck. One crawling on the ceiling and dropped onto his face in the middle of the night. Yeah, REAL shit luck there.

Sure, Jeff had a pre-existing condition and letting a venomous spider bite go untreated for even hours just screwed him. Very sad no matter how you slice it.

Guido, actually Jeff Hennemans spider bite contributed to his liver failure he had...the combo was too much.

WOW! <==a proper interjection, DF. That is just too sad. Creepy at the same time. Died from a spider bite?! My house is full of brown recluse and I am well-aware of what damage they can do having both read and seen it in person. Not feeling the bite is typical as is necrosis of the surrounding tissue. DEATH, however, is not.

Very sad. RIP Jeff.

Here's a proper review I just wrote lol:

Just got home from a weekend away at the first Black Sabbath concert in New Zealand since 1973.
The opening act was a local band named Shihad who I wasn't too fussed on seen as I have seen them live many times. They played a super short set of half an hour. They left the stage at 8pm and we were all settling in for a wait of maybe 45 minutes before BS came on. However a mere 20 minutes later the house lights dimmed and the sirens started up, and the band started to play their opening song, War Pigs, and the curtain that draped the front of the stage lifted. The people milling about buying merch and drinks etc suddenly came rushing in, I don't think anyone expected them on stage so soon! The whole crowd went mad and started to sing along. Ozzy had plenty of energy (for Ozzy) but we couldn't understand much of what he said LOL! The words I made out were 'fuckin' 'love ya' and 'are you having fun?'. While I really wish Bill Ward had been there, the drummer in his stead - Tommy Clufetos - was INSANELY talented and drummed like a monkey on speed. Tony Iommi was excellent as always, and Geezer Butler was great too.
The setlist was great and included two new songs, God is Dead? and End of the Beginning. Highlights for me were Fairies Wear Boots and Children of the Grave. There wasn't much stuffing about, the music came thick and fast and they played for just under two hours. Setlist:

War Pigs
Into The Void
Under The Sun
Snowblind
Electric Funeral
Black Sabbath
Behind The Wall of Sleep
N.I.B.
End of the Beginning
Fairies Wears Boots
Symptom of the Universe
Drum solo
Iron Man
God Is Dead?
Dirty Women
Children of the Grave

Encore: Paranoid

Been away for a few days cos we headed up to Auckland to watch Black Sabbath! It was their first concert in New Zealand in 40 years, and it was great! Played for just under 2 hours. Opened with War Pigs and the crowd went nuts and sang along. Couldn't understand any of what Ozzy was saying other than 'fuckin' and 'love ya' and 'are you having fun?' LOL! Highlights for me were Faeries Wear Boots and Children of the Grave. They also played two new songs, God is Dead? and another which name escapes me at the mo. The drummer they have on tour, Tommy Clufetos, is insanely talented. Would have preferred Bill Ward but that's bye the bye now. Overall a great gig!
