[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Thursday, May 07, 2009 11:23:51 AM

Black Sabbath and Judas Priest belong to the Heavy Metal category. The New Wave of British Heavy Metal started in 1979 and includes bands such as Iron Maiden, Saxon, Diamond Head and Grim Reaper. Sabbath and Priest were the pioneers and are not included in the NWOBHM. So you could say that the first wave was simply called Heavy Metal and that is what Priest is in.

[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Thursday, May 07, 2009 10:41:14 AM

I was at a Queensryche concert wearing my Empire tour shirt and my Judas Priest necklace the other night and another Priest fan started talking to us. He told me that I didn't look like a Priest fan and then started "testing" me. I passed his test needless to say and he couldn't believe it and he was just so shocked that I was a Priest fan because I don't look like one. HMMMMM...... So what does a Priest fan look like then???

Ya, the most of them.
Nina Hagen. After two album releases she starts her solo career. Her ex band find the name "Spliff", but the first album was singing in english. It was the famous "The Spliff radio show". Later they have released three albums singing in German. "85555", "Herzlichen Glückwunsch" and "Schwarz auf Weiß".
Extrabreit (sometimes harder stuff just like Hard Rock),
Nena, Münchener Freiheit, Joachim Witt, Fehlfarben and so on.

Nope, never heard of Neue Deutsche Welle, but I have heard of the radio station named Deutsche Welle. Were many of these artists new when this "wave" began?

Do you know the "Neue deutsche Welle" (NDW/New German Wave)?? No, it's not a german radio station. Many German bands and artists starts in the beginning of the 80's to sing in German. Different styles of music. So they called it "Neue deutsche Welle" to give the thing a name.

There's something that's been making me go "Hmmmmm...." for some time now...

I know there's a New Wave of British Heavy Metal, compromising of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and others. If there's a "New Wave", then which bands belong to the "Old Wave". WAS there and Old Wave of British Heavy Metal?

What has been making me go "Hmmmm..." lately are these Somali pirate raids. Everytime I hear news about some other raid made by these pirates, I imagine the characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, in their full pirate gear, invading those giagantic cargo ships. Heheh...

"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me..."

I hate to say it, but I actually try to hide the dates for such bands from my daughter. Nope! Never hear me say, "Honey Jonnas Bros comming to"
Nope, I'll keep my big fat mouth shut till she picks a decent band. Hope she's home when Priest rolls through this summer. Wouldn't mind taking in an Iron Maiden tour too!

Well everyone... I have had the UNfortunate pleasure to actually
see them live at our local fair 2 years ago!  This was me the
whole time!! My girls were 8 and 5 at the time, the little one
couldn't take the volume( of bad music and screaming tweens!). So,
my wife took her out and they listen from outside the venue leaving me
with my 8 yr old (to suffer) the rest of the show. Now I truly know
what HELL might be like!!!

Well, I am fairly certain it is the old "all or nothing" policy. They cannot waste time getting together and deciding what is acceptable and what is not and where to draw that line without risking offending someone and all, so they just ban everything. Saves them time and litigation.

I gotta renew my internet - it is logging me out all the time! Hate it!!!!

Spapad, Your daughter seems to have a great tast (not refering to Jonasbrothers here), the British steel logo is my favourite aswell when it comes to shirtlogos! Why cant kids wear tank tops? Could she be sent home for wearing a BS shirt?? WTF???
Only thing thats not ok to wear i schools over here is stuff like racistic symbols and stuff. That I understan, but a tank top??

I suffer, just thinking about ever taking Flora to see Jonas Brothers! MG~ I would need an I-pod on extra loud to deal! Blasting Priest.

Matchova, she does have a JP Poster or two up and I just ordered a load of the shirts on sale at Bravado for us. They can get bleach spots, dirty whatever, they aren't the real thing so she has been enjoying those! Her favorite is  the British Steel Shirt, I am suprised in this day and age they didn't send her home for dressing offensive, since they won't even let girls wear tank tops at school anymore! Crazy stuff!
