so true!! Our hospital has changed the food drastically - it's now much more like room service. You call them and order when you want to eat! What an idea - no more food sitting there waiting for you and all cold because you were out of the room for some test or something when they brought it. And I've heard that it's actually pretty tasty as well. Hospitals finally figured out that people have a choice in where they go and food is a major complaint so they are making a change for the better. That only took how long?

that dinner didnt look to bad at all.  its strange when a hospital serves food and you know what it is.

Just saw an update from Phil and he needs bypass surgery, which is being done on Monday. He has to stay in the hospital through the weekend. He took a picture of his dinner though, and I have to say, food in the hospital sure has improved a lot! He seems in pretty good spirits considering. I wish him all the best and a full and speedy recovery!

Hey everyone, some sad news tonight.  Phill (Metal Meltdown) suffered a heart attack today.  however he is currently enjoying the morphine, so all is not lost.

So, no trolleys in a dairy that is NOT supplied via lorry? lol

geez, when I was in england a truck was a section of a train.  a lorry was what I would have called a truck.

Lol no, just a truck.
Yeah the dairy thing makes foreign visitors etc go WTF. Just another quirk of ours lol.

WHAT?! Now that is just silly! LOL!! Normally,I'd ask what you call a "dairy" but they haven't really existed since I was a kid. Back in the stone ages when you could count on the milkman to deliver all sorts of dairy products (in the milk chute, of course, that eventually gave way to the milk box in my house) and the most popular store at Granny's house was "the City Dairy." While I suppose you COULD buy milk there, I never got past the ice cream counter. YUM!

thats a new one on me.  I thought I could speak english, but I guess NZ is yet another language.  is the food delivered to the store in a lory?

Me too lol! This one will get you - in NZ we call a convenience store/corner store a dairy.

Lollies is what we call candy,  I believe Australia and the UK are the same. So yes if you said that to someone from NZ they'd know what you meant lol!

"Lolly" companies? I assume it comes from lollypop? Were I to say that to someone from NZ, they'd have an idea of what I meant with no need for clarification?

The peanut gallery wants to know! LOL!!!

Nope lol. It's not typically celebrated here, it's become en vogue in the last few years though thanks to lolly (candy) companies exploiting it. I'm sure there'll be a scary movie or two on television though. What are you doing for halloween?

I'm definitely looking forward to the Fall-like weather arriving in Cali...in like four weeks or so. Can't wait for the rainy weather and the cold nights and getting to wear all my giant jackets again. And also get some new boots.

Sucks about the ozone hole over NZ. Do you wear any store brand sunscreen or is there a specific kind that has to be worn if you live under/near an ozone hole?

Guids, can't wait to see that pic if you ever take it. Maybe you can give it to DF's band for their future first album?

Is it really the first official day? Not that I doubt you, Ms. Meterologist, I thought it started with college football. LOL!

Odd feeling as we have finally had a wee bit of rain around here along with under 90 degree weather. Makes things look even more gloomy with dark clouds hanging over crops that are dead in the fields. Doesn't look like they are even going to harvest for animal feed as they would have done it by now. I should take a picture. Might make for a good album cover. Led Zep planning on getting back together soon?

Great read thanks Acolyte, I especially liked Rob discussing how the SFV title track came about, that song always has e scratching my head a little in terms of how different it is to the rest of the record, IMO.
