Went to ROTR this weekend. Had a blast as usual. Really dug the Priest performance. I took a few videos I'll post if anyone cares to see them. Agree with HRMG about weight limit on crowdsurfers and the chick in the wheelchair had a blast doing that. I have a really good pic of her I'll post. So glad they have a festival like this here. I've heard a few bands over the years, this year included say that this was "California" style. I loved most of the bands I watched with a few exceptions. I was going to watch Saxon but didn't really care about a band with such non relevance in the music world and stayed at the mainstage to get up front for "In This Moment". Rob must have liked them also because I have a video of them w/ Rob watching from the side of stage. I thought that was cool. As for Priest not playing You've Got Another Thing Comin' I was so glad, the one song that I am so sick of hearing. I noticed a lot of the younger people around me giving props to Priest and i thought that was cool. After the first show w/ Richie that I saw I thought Priest was finished but I have to say he's fitting in well and even though he changes Priest's overall sound I think he is good for them.  I hope we get at least one more cd and tour out of them. (I just hope they get someone that can actually produce the thing this time).  I heard it wasn't televised and I thought that sucked. We have a "Country" music fest here that they televise each year and sometimes the headliners are left out. They say it's the artists and or their management and contractually they aren't allowed to be televised so maybe that was the issue for Priest. I'll put a few videos up and maybe a pic or two and then I'll leave you good folks alone again. Take care!

Great review HRMG! I feel ya on the getting crushed bit - we got crushed heaps when Exodus played before Priest when we saw them in February, crowd surfers and idiots abound. Exodus encouraged it too, encouraged a wall of death and everything

Priest KILLED IT at Rock On The Range!! They showed all the posers what a REAL metal band was! We completely miscalculated and made our move way too early, during Papa Roach. I made it through, but it was COMPLETELY INSANE!!! You have no idea what it's like being crushed with dumb fuckers crowd surfing and smashing down on your head until you live it. I got the fuck out of there and watched Godsmack from the side. We went in during Priest and holy shit, the left side was filled with NORMAL PRIEST FANS!!! Made my way to front row, with some very nice guys behind me, making sure no one pushed and lifted the couple of crowd surfers over my head. We all were singing every song and Rob was FANTASTIC!! Scott said they had time for one more song, what did we want to hear? The crowd yelled PAINKILLER!! I love Rob, but I was quite worried about him singing this since the last times I heard him try to sing it, it was difficult for him. He sang it the best I've heard him sing it in YEARS!! This is the only Priest show I have gone to that they DID NOT play YGATC!! Not that I minded Here are some pics we took from the show

It was like watching the Grammys all over again. Digging through all that crap for Judas Priest when it turns out that they won't even be shown, after all.

 MetalmanJP ......TOTALLY!

Shit bands like 5 Finger Death Punch(Sorry Halford but they SUCK!) and blah blah blah ....they are crap.

Bunch of baggy jungle cloths that hang down past thier ass with a backwards hat looking like a fuckin hillbilly.

Bands can suck "WITH PROPER AESTHETICS" ie: normal fit leather pants, leather jackets, boots spikes chains....sure just wearing these doent make the music but 'WITHOUT" old school aesthetics I wont even LISTEN to them once. Not once.

Old school traditional "METAL" aesthetics is what a "heavy metal" band should be wearing and then....then we wait for the sound to see if they are worthy or not.

Fuck off to these tunnel hat wearing baggy cloths wearing metal destroyers!

Yea I sat through all those crappy bands thinking Priest was gonna be on. WTF ! I just can't get into any of the new music, all those idiots wearing dirt bag clothes and rapping or screaming like the devil, I just don't get it.

Aaaaand it looks like that's about as much Judas Priest as I'm gonna get from this viewing of ROTR. NO viewing of JP playing whatsover! Godsmack's set was about as far as AXS TV would get.

*sigh* Udder sadness...and disappointment. WIth a side of anger.

Oh, well. At least I got to see Jim Florentine doing backstage interviews after every set.

Still though...WHY THEY NO SHOW JUDAS PRIEST?!?!?

Yes I do remember that haha. Your man has good taste lol. Mind you, marmite from the UK is a bit different to the marmite we get here. Spread thinly on crackers or bread, yum. I can't answer why it is black sorry, that makes it look scarier than it is haha.

Marmite. HA!

Becks.............remember ages ago we (you me and Devi's Chlld) had a conversation about Marmite and I came down firmly on the antiMarmite, I'm afraid of that stuff side of things. Now, I have a jar of it in my pantry. NO, I do not eat it but my man likes it and stuck a jar in my pantry so it's always there. I've smelled it and it's a really strong yeast smell. I just can't get myself to take a bit of it. For instance, WHY is it the color it is? It's some scary shit.

You know, I don't think it's that mucus-filled someone that's pushing up the newbie threads.

It must be that one person who named him/herself after a cereal brand.

Half the shitdisturbers never realized that we just take the convo "underground" to avoid their nonsense even more. Ahhhh, paradise.
