I don't know how they got by selling junk. Did youever see the NIGHSTALKER? Back in the 70's?

I must have seen every episode multiple times. Nothing better than a good Aunt Esther one. Especially with Grady and Bubba thrown into the mix.

Redd Foxx was a funny guy, still watch reruns of sanford and son. Very dirty as a stand-up comedian.

No, I hadn't! You know, it really wouldn't surprise me one bit now that I think about it. Makes complete sense. After all, he is quite the champion of his race and, sadly, almost to the point of insanity in his later years. Loved the way Eddie Murphey would rip him apart for getting on Richard Pryor's case. I have a lot of old Bill Cosby material and consider myself a fan but, as such, know that he often went "blue" in his earlier years. Later he would start railing against people like this for the exact same thing:

i think it was bill cosby who bought the rights to the show because he thought it was racist? you hear anything about that?

Now then, Little Rascals you say? Shame you can't find it on TV anymore. Like the original, uncut Looney Tunes. Too "politically incorrect" for today's public.

Shame too, come on, what isn't to like about Hal Roach's casting?!

JOHN CANDY was one of my favorites. I loved SCTV.

Exactly, but (speaking of Chicago) think of all the great Second City players they had back at the start. Only show that used to come a close second was SCTV. John Candy and company were friggin' HILARIOUS! Just got a best of, in fact.

Yup, I agree.

As for the SNL question, they just flashed an ad..."wanna see Sara Palin or watch it again? Head over to NBC.com." Just took a quick look, and I didn't see it. www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/
Debates are pretty funny there, however you are right about it being really funny "back in the day." Sure, we are far from the Belushi days that kept me fighting to stay awake as a kid, they do have some talented comedians. However, they seem to be few and far in between lately. Shows like the Daily Show steal a lot of their thunder, IMO.

i don't really care for all the putting down of the candidates. and it wears on me quickly.

That last one wasn't too bad, actually. You'll certainly see snippets of the Amy Poehler rap in the days to come.

There is a bit of hope. Still sort of sad that you can't seem to be president without going through all the talkshows and SNL, though.

Oh, crap....Palin is back on again...let's see...

I think the whole damn election process is getting old fast! Damn, let's just VOTE already!

Yes it's getting old fast the Tina Fey ripping Palin. Was fun, but overkill has moved in,lol...

SNL is just not very funny anymore. Had to run home tonight to see Palin and while she and (better yet) Tina Fey had their intro moment, it just falls downhill from there. Zzzzzz

Well well, I see we have reached another fine Saturday morning. I do hope yours is a good one!

jerZgirl, so sorry to hear about your break up. I too know of the pain of loss.
I wish you the best. Feel what you feel, and when you're ready you'll bounce back.
Know that you are not alone, even if it feels like you are.
In the meantime, watch a sad movie or twenty- giving you the "excuse" to let it all out and cry like a baby; lean on a good friend(s) who are NOT your ex; eat your favorite dessert or candy without guilt; and remember that sleep is restorative so get a lot of it or as much as you can.
You'll be in my thoughts.
