Ok so it turns out our hotel in LA has free Wifi, so just checking in to say, got here safe, it's bloody hot, and I'm off to Disneyland tomorrow! YAY!

I'm off to the States today! YAY! So I will be MIA for a couple of weeks, so I'll see you all on the other side!

My son thought it was really funny when I came back home and got into bed. Craig thought I ran exceptionally fast and crawled back into bed for a nap lol.. I guess in a few hours I'll be up at a sparrows fart ready to do it properly this time lol.

It's your typical LA county town, not a bad place to visit. Our biggest attraction is the casino, a biggie if you're into gambling and whatnot. I think it appeared in one of those Poker Championship games that show up on TV.

Huntington Beach is cool. I used to go there every summer with the high school choir. We'd bike, swim in the water, make a bonfire at night and eat s'mores and other tasty snacks. Good times, good times.

Exactly, very well said.
If you're selling tickets for the FINAL tour of AC/DC, you'd expect Angus to be there. If you're selling tickets for the FINAL Iron Maiden tour, you would expect Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson to be there. The list goes on - the point being that I have bought tickets for something that turns out to be something else than what was ADVERTISED.
Every single person who bought a ticket, should be given a refund and an apology. Not some stupid management-statement about what a "great show" it will be.
Don't get me wrong - the issue is not that K.K is leaving, it's not a catastrophy that there's a new dude playing guitar - I mean, for god's sake, we survived the Ripper-era!
And I don't think any less of Glenn, Rob, Ian and Scott as musicians or members of Judas Priest.
NONE OF THAT is "the problem". The problem is announcing K.K's departure a month before the European summer-tour, when it's too late to cancel flights, rental cars, hotels and concert tickets! MAYBE I wanted the opportunity to make up my own mind whether or not I wanted to see this "alternative Priest".
I wasn't given that chance. I feel like an idiot for having been PLAYED this way, tricked into buying tickets to something that is not what I expected to see.
You wouldn't be okay if you paid for a Mercedes and someone delivered a Fiat to you door either.
People can say whatever they want, I think this was dishonest - and it doesn't really matter if it's K.K's fault, or Judas Priest's fault or the management's fault. The fact remains - I've taken vacation days and spent a lot of money on something that is not what it was being advertised as.
Sorry - but in my book, that's wrong.
jimmyjames wrote:
She's right though Becks. What they have done is sold tickets under false pretences. Whether it's the band or their management doing it, who cares? It stinks. As I said in my first post on this subject, what would everybody be saying if AC/DC sold a shitload of tickets and then announced Angus would not be there? There would be an outcry.
Becks wrote:
Just because we're not crucifying the band the way you are doesn't mean we're not taking it seriously you twit. As for being lied to, if you have read Rob Halfords statement, they had waiting so long in the hope that KK would COME BACK. They finally realised the clock had ticked too long. It has been poorly handled by Priest MANAGEMENT, but I for one refuse to shit all over the band and treat them like crap because of this.
Daniela P wrote:
It's funny... either people are totally lobotomized or they haven't been following this at all. It's amazing how lightly people are taking the situation- all I see is comments about how "it will be good and I will support the band".
How can it be "good" when you've been lied to for 6 months you suckers.... Unbelievable.
And to think that some no-name dude is going to make the show better...? The best he can do is stay the hell out of the spotlight as much as he can and let Ian step out for a change. But it still won't change much. If I was in Priest, I wouldn't have been able to even walk out on a stage and look the fans in the eyes. I would have been too ashamed of what's being done in the name of Judas Priest.
spapad wrote:
I don't want to pour salt into wounds, but what would a show be like with a guitar player almost 30 years their junior on stage? I hate to say it, but I think he is going to step the pace up! This might be the most energetic we have seen Priest in years. Don't get me wrong, you know how much I love KK and if you don't just read my profile quote. But the prospect of new blood does pose the opportunity of more action, and a hard driven show?
Just putting the idea out there. A new way to look at things. Instead of demise, what about rebirth? Could happen.
KK, you know I will always love you! Would beg you on my knees to come back! But if no, I must look forward to something positive coming from this.

I don't think Maiden would ever pull a stunt like that. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Daniela P from Monday, April 25, 2011 4:48:47 AM)

Right again. As with everything else with this band since Halford returned the bottom line has been how to milk it for as much money as possible. Nobody here needs to know why KK left, it's obvious anyway. One party can't stand the other party. The fact is Priest have been underhanded and sneaky and have ripped off their fans again, particularly European fans who bought tickets to their shows not knowing KK would not be playing. I'm pretty much fed up with them. I didn't listen to the Ripper era and I won't be listening to the Faulkner era. The reality is Judas Priest, as a band, died in 91. It doesn't strike you as more likely that they were waiting because it would have affected ticket sales if they dropped the bomb earlier? They "realised" that MAYBE they should say something - a month before the tour? Yeah.
Well then, I guess we're looking at this from different angles, no doubt.
I don't know who's to blame for this mess, and I wish I did. If I hadn't been a fan, I wouldn't have cared. Unfortunately - I DO care. And they can't go hiding behind a shitty management and their bad decisions, like a three-year-old hides behind mommy's skirt when shit hits the fan.
How can I go to a Priest-show now, feeling that they are genuine? I'm sorry, I just can't. At least not unless they tell us what really happened, cause I'm not buying the lame excuses given so far.

Good grief, alright, we get it, you're angry etc but there's no point in continuing to flog a dead horse - some people feel lied to, others don't. Excuse me for deciding I am not going to make judgements based on limited knowledge of goings on, therefore I don't feel lied to, and have not been 'lobotomized'.
