Hmmm...that is indeed strange. Either there was an accident that cleared up very quickly, or the cop wanted to play with you all. My mom gets pissed anytime we're stopped at a red light, a cop behind us turns on the lights and sirens to get past us and turns them off as soon as he clears the intersection. Did you have fun at Knott's?

I wasn't given that chance. I feel like an idiot for having been PLAYED this way, tricked into buying tickets to something that is not what I expected to see.
You wouldn't be okay if you paid for a Mercedes and someone delivered a Fiat to you door either.
People can say whatever they want, I think this was dishonest - and it doesn't really matter if it's K.K's fault, or Judas Priest's fault or the management's fault. The fact remains - I've taken vacation days and spent a lot of money on something that is not what it was being advertised as.

Right again. As with everything else with this band since Halford returned the bottom line has been how to milk it for as much money as possible. Nobody here needs to know why KK left, it's obvious anyway. One party can't stand the other party. The fact is Priest have been underhanded and sneaky and have ripped off their fans again, particularly European fans who bought tickets to their shows not knowing KK would not be playing. I'm pretty much fed up with them. I didn't listen to the Ripper era and I won't be listening to the Faulkner era. The reality is Judas Priest, as a band, died in 91.

How can I go to a Priest-show now, feeling that they are genuine? I'm sorry, I just can't. At least not unless they tell us what really happened, cause I'm not buying the lame excuses given so far.

I wasn't given that chance. I feel like an idiot for having been PLAYED this way, tricked into buying tickets to something that is not what I expected to see.
You wouldn't be okay if you paid for a Mercedes and someone delivered a Fiat to you door either.
People can say whatever they want, I think this was dishonest - and it doesn't really matter if it's K.K's fault, or Judas Priest's fault or the management's fault. The fact remains - I've taken vacation days and spent a lot of money on something that is not what it was being advertised as.
Sorry - but in my book, that's wrong.

I agree, it's a band. I'm still going to as many shows as I can make it to. However, it is a shitty thing to do to sell tickets to people without telling them that KK has retired. They really shouldn't have booked dates without KK announcing his retirement first. I do think people have a right to be upset about that part of it. As far as KK leaving, it is his right to do so and Judas Priest has every right to continue on as a band. They have my full support - I will buy the new album and I will see them on tour as well. I have no doubt that Rob and Glenn have the ability to write an incredible album together!

Daniela P, I haven't had a lobotomy, but thank you for your concern..... to be quite honest with you, it was up to KK to announce this, not the rest of Priest. The rest of the band was giving him time to change his mind and until he announced it, they weren't going to. If you want to be pissed off at someone, then be pissed off at KK for not telling everyone back in December, if in fact, that is when he made up his mind. For all we know, he wanted to retire and was onboard with the farewell tour and THEN changed his mind. Rob said they knew before Christmas, but does that mean on December 7th when the tour was announced or later in December???? WE DON'T KNOW and most likely will not know unless someone eventually spills the beans. Judas Priest was waiting for KK to announce his leaving the band and they couldn't wait for him any longer. Notice how KK didn't even have anything to say until THE DAY AFTER Priest had no choice but to make the announcement? Having said all that, I would be seriously pissed off if I were you, spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on plane tickets, hotels and tickets to the shows only to find out much later that KK is not going to be there. Most of the people that you are yelling at are in the States and haven't bought any tickets yet. Those that have for all the shows already announced, I really can't say that I blame you for being pissed.

Unethical means that something is not right morally in the way it is conducted. If you think selling tickets under false pretences is ethical then fair play but I don't. Doing gigs for Gaddafi is fine as long as when they agree to do the gig Gadaffi is aware that he's not gonna get to see KK shredding.

I think it's pretty extreme to say the fact they carried on with the decision the band made as a whole unethical. Not wise considering, to be sure, but unethical? An unethical decision would be something like if Priest accepted shit loads of money from Gaddafi for a private gig in Libya, where many people suffer every day. She's right though Becks. What they have done is sold tickets under false pretences. Whether it's the band or their management doing it, who cares? It stinks. As I said in my first post on this subject, what would everybody be saying if AC/DC sold a shitload of tickets and then announced Angus would not be there? There would be an outcry.

It's funny... either people are totally lobotomized or they haven't been following this at all. It's amazing how lightly people are taking the situation- all I see is comments about how "it will be good and I will support the band".
How can it be "good" when you've been lied to for 6 months you suckers.... Unbelievable.
And to think that some no-name dude is going to make the show better...? The best he can do is stay the hell out of the spotlight as much as he can and let Ian step out for a change. I will miss KK dearly though and it will be hard to look at the left side of the stage and not see him there.

We're the ones who will always hold out hope of mom and dad putting their differences aside and making the family unit whole again. Or we're standing by the cold, grey corpse refusing to let go of the stiff frozen hand and let what's done be done.
Instead of hating and being full of rage, I'm choosing to support the rest of the band who are still here for us, trying to hold us together. It's the least we can do for them. This can't be easy for them, left holding all the broken pieces trying frantically to put things back together again and hope the missing pieces can be hidden by their love for us. And the love for their band and what they have put their lives into for the last 40 odd years.

I will always love the band and I support whatever they do, just as I would any loved one. I still love Judas Priest. That doesn't change.

I will always love the band and I support whatever they do, just as I would any loved one. I still love Judas Priest. That doesn't change.

As hard as it will be to not see him there, you are so right. It would be worse to see him there knowing that he did not want to be there. If there is bad vibes within the band, it will flow over to their performance. I believe in his own way, he is thinking of us by walking away.

Maybe KK was on board for the tour but then Glenn and Rob wanted to do an album and he just didn't want to and that's when he decided to leave? We may never really know. But I wish KK all the best. I will give Faulkner a chance and I will give the new album a chance as well. Change isn't always a bad thing. I will miss KK dearly though and it will be hard to look at the left side of the stage and not see him there.

We're the ones who will always hold out hope of mom and dad putting their differences aside and making the family unit whole again. Or we're standing by the cold, grey corpse refusing to let go of the stiff frozen hand and let what's done be done.
Instead of hating and being full of rage, I'm choosing to support the rest of the band who are still here for us, trying to hold us together. It's the least we can do for them. This can't be easy for them, left holding all the broken pieces trying frantically to put things back together again and hope the missing pieces can be hidden by their love for us. And the love for their band and what they have put their lives into for the last 40 odd years.

I want as many of us as we can get together at one show, standing shoulder to shoulder, banging our heads and screaming until we have no voices left!I want to send them off with a BANG! I want them to know how loved they are and how much they have meant to us. At the end, I have no doubt most of us, if not all of us, will be crying. Too bad Freeze won't be there, he could bring his "man bag" and cram a couple boxes of tissue in it Sorry Freeze, I just HAD to. I do really wish you would change your mind and be there with us. No, it won't be the same, but that shouldn't make you forget all the fantastic memories you have of Priest. I hope you change your mind, we will save you a spot. But then again, maybe you will want to avoid what is most likely going to be a cryfest at the end.

But we must go on. KK wants us to support the band and I'm sure they have found someone more than up to the job and works simpatico with Glenn. We all fell away when Ripper replaced Rob, because the lyrics and voice was not what we wanted, (we are a brutal judging bunch), and it was not a good separation back then. Not that it ever is for us fans.
I'll be out there supporting them. They are still MY band, I will miss KK tremendously, and might even cry, but I'll be there showing my love of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND.
I love my Metal Gods. It's hard enough to see a split so late, but I want to see them one last time. With tears in my eyes when the show is over.

Yes Joe, I completely agree. Last time Priest "divorced", I took Priests side and was completely pissed off at Rob until he came back to his metal roots in Halford and then I could let it go. This time around, I'm not really taking sides, I'm just so sad about how all this happened. I will be there supporting Priest, because they have been my ALL TIME FAVORITE band since '82. Seeing someone in KK's place does not "ruin" the memory of Priest for me like it apparently does for others. Yes, it will be different and it will not be "Priest" for me either.
