Finally got those used vinyls I talked about here earlier, and I gotta say I'm very satisfied with the quality. Even better, all of them are as original issues as they can get. Currently playing Sin After Sin, and it doesn't lose out to the CD at all. I'll keep on monitoring that record store's website as they seem to be the most reliable source for quality used vinyls.

Oh yeh, she's going to be the one graduate who cant point out China on a map but could tell you how to do meticulous nails and makeup. lol

I do find it funny that people pigeonhole people who like metal music as boneheads when the majority of people listen to top 40 bullshit and have no taste whatsoever.

well, I guess it's because people have more "important" thinks to worry about, like the way they look or how fat they are...It's like people who say all metal heads are satanists or the like just because of the "music" we listen to, they do not even understand the lyrics!...I know we're not singing about the beauty of paradise or that shit, but we're not killin people either, that's something else...and in college I had a very stupid classmate who during a speech about a subtitling project said that the most difficult part was burning the CD and finding what a SUB car was...and you should see her analyzing literature, I couldn't stop laughing!

It is a shame that people don't appreciate things that are so easy to find out about. Even if you never go anywhere these days you can learn so much by a simple internet search.

I did actully have a college graduate physical therapist who seriously looked at me once durring a conversation and asked me where Greece was. I know my face must have betrayed me as I couldn't believe that she didn't know such a simple thing. Every child at some point in time learns about the Greeks by third grade! It does amaze me that people don't even know simple geography.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! are you fu%&$ serious!?!?!!? can't believe it!! well, actually I do, I deal with "stoopid" people every single day, you never expect the nonsense they're about to say...

I think it was a great idea you made one on your own, $300 is too much for a vase

haha, ingines...wtf, I can't get over it...hahaha... well I bet it looks great, it doesn't matter if people can't distinguish their thumb from any other finger, at least you know it looks great, and they should feel like idiots not even knowing what's it all about, so don't worry about that...personally I think it's a shame people do not appreciate all world history, and sometimes they don't even know their own country's, but it's good to have some smart people around

They go along with a large greek vase I made a few years back. I wanted one but I was not going to pay $300.00 for one. So, when I saw a pot in a local crafts store that was big and made about the right way, I took it home, sanded it down some and made my own pot. It turned out pretty good, and it now is the centerpiece of my office on the top of my bookshelves. So, the statues go with that, although I actually have to explain that to about EVERYONE at my office because they don't know shit about history or the outside world in general. One of them looked at the statues and asked me why I have "Ingines" in my office, didn't even say indians. Really, that's the stupid people I work with.

LOL a trucking Co. office...I can picture that...the one I'm having in the univeristy was kind of messy because of the number of books and stuff we have, but after we got the new shelf it looks great too... and about the cost it was actually because they charge $6 for sending it to the US and the other $4 for sending it here, but the company I regularly use (don't ask the name) is free of charge...don't know why, but I don't complain either...it makes me sound like a cheap person, which I am...

They're a couple of bronze greek statues I got for my office. They finally redecorated my office at work and let me get a proper desk for it, and now that it looks good I actually spent a bit of money to spruce it up a bit. lol I'll take Flora's camera to work and take a picture of it. Too bad I didn't get a before picture, as my office was absolutely hideous. It looked more like an office for a trucking company than a health care facility. I know my desk had to be at least 20 years old and it was lamenated presswood and even the lamitate was wearing off of it. lol

That shipping cost isn't too bad, I think I had to pay 6.00 and I'm so called "local"

The mail probably wont slow it down that much, in some cases yes though, as I just experienced. lol

I bought two sculptures online at the first of this month and it took two weeks for it to get here. By it's tracking number it sat in a UPS warhouse in Oklahoma City  for a week before moving an inch! I would have just as soon NOT had the tracking number as that just made me all that much more ticked off about.

At the same time I ordered something from London and paid the cheepest shipping, and it got to me before a package originating in my own country. lol

Short Finnish-to-English translation: käytetty LP = used LP, toimituspäivä = delivery date, i.e. the day when the store gets the stuff, kuvapussit = picture sleeves, osta = buy, i.e. I could order them to my home right now but I want to make sure that these aren't the Back in Black reissues.

AHA! So THAT is the deale-o. I have been waiting for someone to confirm or deny the razor-blade question before I placed my order and was beginning to wonder what was taking so long. Big run on merch, eh? I might just have to place that order so that it might arrive by next Xmas.

Then again, if the razor-blade IS different, I don't want to pay half its value in shipping costs. Decisions, decisions....

Me too! I ended up emailing Live Nation to see what the problem was. They told me I ordered things that were on backorder and that demand for this item (they didn't say what item) was much higher than anticipated and they expect a shipment in the next 1-4 weeks from the manufacturer. I have a feeling that it's the necklaces. Hopefully they get it in 1 week instead of 4! [Nupe The Ripper] Saturday, February 05, 2011 11:46:26 AM
I made a trip today to the specialist record stores in downtown with a good friend of mine and managed to find two used Priest vinyls: Priest...Live! and Rocka Rolla. Even better, they're almost as original as they can get; Live is the original 1987 Holland/European issue, and Rocka Rolla is the 1978 US reissue by Visa Records - a good find in Finland, especially. Both cost me 15 euros each, which is pretty cheap if you ask me. Rocka Rolla has some slight distortion in it, but for a 33-year-old LP it sounds great (not to mention the actual music of course). I've so far listened to the side 1 of the Live album and it sounds perfect. There were of course the Back In Black re-issues for sale as well, but I prefer getting them as originals because I can always listen to the Remasters on CD. Overall these two second-hand LPs have been some of the best 30 euros I've ever spent on records.

In the same store there were also Accept's Balls to the Wall (not sure of the issue), Scorpions' Breakout (Spanish issue with Spanish song titles...) and Uriah Heep's Very 'eavy, Very 'umble (Bronze Records re-issue, not sure of they year) and a helluva lot of other hard rock/metal vinyls, but sadly I had to leave them to the shelf until I get more cash (they're probably gone by then)...

Actually Becks, your lucky it didn't go up another 15.00. Like a year or so ago when Bravo had a massive T-shirt sale.  Yeah, the shirts were priced to sell but the shipping was five bucks per shirt no matter how many you bought! They made up their sale money in shipping. lol Of course when the shirts came in, they didn't show up in 6 different boxes, nope, just two. Total shipping cost to the company was around six bucks for the two boxes.

Yeah, the razorblade LOOKS different but I have seen that before. Make it look black so it stands out in a picture but it turns out just silver on silver engraved. As you have both, I'll hold my order until I hear from you. Even a thicker metal than the one we got at the concert would affect my decision to buy or not.

Becks, that is some steep shipping. Even within the US it is high but that is out of this world. Do tell if you want one of us to buy and ship it to you. No problem with me.

Well, the nearby department store had a clearance sale, where one could pick any three CDs, movies, or games three for the price of two, with the cheapest one of the three items given free of charge. So, I picked two CDs and a video game. The other one of the CDs was Demolition, which is quite a rare find in a non-specialist store (there was also Metal Works '73-'93 there, but with my current budget, I can't afford purchasing albums where all of the songs I already have on the other Priest albums). In addition, it was the cheapest one of the three products I chose, so I got it for free. Although I personally don't like that album very much, at least I got it for free!

Maybe Rob will eventually come up with a MOM shirt that doesn't have the tour dates, just the album art. You know, like the Crucible one.

Damnit, now I want one. Leather strap, too.

I went back and forth about it. Seemed kinda silly to get a concert t-shirt from a show you didn't attend.

The shirt I could cut up in sections for rags to wash the car with, and the Halford 4 cd I could use as a drink coaster and throw in the Winter Songs cd and I will give it to a weirdo down town on Capital Hill and we wouldn't want to know what he would do with it HAHA!! (lol!)

Seriously, the Angel Of Retribution cd was my last Priest purchase. Here is what I have on cd and they are just the regular cds:

Rocka Rolla
Sad Wings Of Destiny
Sin After Sin
Stained Class
Hell Bent For Leather
Unleashed In The East
British Steel
Point Of Entry
Screaming For Vengeance
Defenders Of The Faith
Ram It Down
Painkiller
Jugulator
Meltdown 98'
Angel Of Retribution

I do not like the Turbo album,I also hate the 1987 "Priest Live" album (yuk!), I do have the Ram It Down cd because I like half of it (Ram It Down, Heavy Metal, Come And Get It, Hard As Iron, Blood Red Skies and the other songs blow!) I don't like the Demolition album,Live In London either and I don't like the Nostradamus album.

I'm not too keen on the latest live album "A Touch Of Evil Live" either and to me its pointless buying the "best of" Judas Priest ect........ so I'm still waiting for something from Priest that I'll buy.........same with Halford, maybe I'll like the next one this time next year if its out,I'm still glad most of you enjoy it though.

I do. I had two copies of the original LP. One had the poster, the other didn't. Both were bought in the early / mid 80s. I only still have the second LP (first one was trashed) without the poster. Just pulled it out and THAT is even in really poor shape from too much use!

"From an unknown land and through distant skies came a winged warrior. Nothing remained sacred, no one was safe from the Hellion as it uttered its battle cry ... Screaming for Vengeance."

HA! You should also look in the least likely of places. Believe it or not, I found that SFV poster in a gift shop! Just had to have it...

You can also find it on Amazon and Ebay. There has to be someone on the Interwebs who can ship to NZ.
