1st, and foremost...I'm very happy to hear a new album is in the works! With that said...I feel they either over-produce their latest releases, or it's just not coming as quickly to them as it used to. I hope it's not a case of over-thinking each song. That may result in a disaster! We can only speculate. No matter what the case may be, I'll buy it, play it over, and over, and support them. Most of all...I'll love them for forever!

I agree no further discussion is neccesary. Lack of people posting also means fewer trolls. That's one positive of course. Perhaps now there are only the hard core JP fans contributing to the boards. That of course is the ultimate positive for this site. Stay well my friend. I know today isn't your holiday, if you still reside in Canada, but Happy Thanksgiving HB!

Like I said in my 2nd post. I bought Kiss' new cd Monster. Of course I bought the deluxe edition of it. I've only heard it twice, and therefore don't feel comfy yet at giving a review, but it has potential to grow on me. No songs have stuck out for me. The mini magazine included was worth the extra couple dollars I thought.

You should already know I'd disagree w/that statement HB. What with all the stink I made in the past about the pics of nearly nude women posted on this site. It actually does feel very nice to be posting here again. I missed a lot of the people from here while I was absent. However, it doesn't feel the same as before. I'm not the same as before. I thought, maybe a little sarcasm from me would help me. So I gave it a try.

I may have suffered the same emotions as you. However, what may have helped you at that time, and in the future, would have been to remember that the members of our beloved Judas Priest are no less human than we are. It was your placing them upon a pedastal that created the nervousness. I know it doesn't help now, but it may in the future, if you ever have another chance. Keep the faith my friend!

What would you have asked them, if I may be so bold?

It's too easy to turn my back on the world...and moon everyone in it!  However, I thank God that I have Jesus' strength in me to resist! For surely, I find that the "world" finds it easy to turn it's back on me, with the exception of a few who choose to suffer with me. I thank those for their support, friendship, and love! But, that's too easy to do. Truelly...I thank those who turned their backs...It made me turn to God!

Heavy Metal is indeed from the UK.

However Rock and Roll originated in the United States of America in the 50's. 10 years before the likes of The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones.

One influenced the other, and R-N-R was influenced by Rhythm and Blues from The U.S.A.

Both country's along with just about every other Country in the World now ROCKS thanks to their influences.

[DemonCat] Wednesday, September 07, 2011 1:18:48 PM

Screaming for vengence

A short story by Jeff "DemonCat" Tenly using Judas Priest song titles (highlighted in red).

NOTE: I know I posted this when I first created it, but for the new members since then, I feel the need to share once again.

from Beyond the realms of death, Judas is rising after years of torturing the Saints in hell. He is Delivering the goods neccesary for The Hellion to be able to Take on the world. The Hell patrol has reported that the Defenders of the faith on Earth are United somewhere in the Desert plains playing a Battle hymn to attempt to summon The metal Gods. Making a Deal with the Devil who has demanded Genocide for the human race. The green manalishi with the two pronged crown has prepared the Tyrant on the Island of Domination with a Grinder that has Wheels of fire. Upon the delivery of the Bloodstone, the Hellrider goes Heading out to the highway under the Evening star on his Killing machine to ensure the human race will be Burnin' up Before the dawn. Meanwhile the Call for the priest has been made and he is Running wild to reach the masses, and begin the ritual. While he's On the run he is confronted by Solar angels as the Night comes down. They proceed to tell him that he has but One shot at glory. They acknowledge that it is a Heavy duty to bear, but warn him to not fail if he wants to still be Living after midnight. They explain that there will be none alive to read his Eulogy or to place a headstone for his Epitaph if he does. They hand him the Last rose of summer, Diamonds and rust for the upcoming ritual he must perform, then send the Leather rebel on his way. He runs All the way to the forge at the center of the gathered crowd in the desert. Sweating with a Fever, he condenms the holy items to the forges flames, and places the Metal meltdown Between the hammer and the anvil to forge a weapon for the Sentinel, and dubs it "Demonizer". Then begins the ritual to summon the Angel. Just as he finishes the Devil's child appears, and cuts the priest down, bringing forth the Heroes end. Hearing the Prelude, and sensing the Evil fantasies of a Revolution. The Painkiller spreads his metal wings and flies to confront the Savage Invader. Upon arrival he bellows out "You've got another thing comin' if you think Some heads are gonna roll this night"! He grabs the forged weapon and in The rage, beheads the beast in one swift stroke! The crowd cries Don't go as he flies back towards the Heavens. He turns back to them and says..."Stand by for Exciter, for he will come and remain an Electric eye in the clouds to protect you from hence forth."

Just to try, and bring the thread back on track...Not that I don't enjoy the history lessons. Are we saying that  British heavy metal may be rooted in the sounds of the Spanish Man-O-Wars cannons ringing their ears?  If so did not the Americas suffer similar sounds in their history?

It must be the music industry's control over what they "think" the people in America want to hear IMO. Of course most everyone in this website would probably agree that they're wrong!

Why should management care? It sounds to me, Their job's are through after the tour. They'll get paid, and JP has been ridden for all their worth. That's been going on since Rob left IMO. Now don't everyone jump on me for having an oppinion...I'm just saying...Roger Daltrey of the Who wanted to tour again with Pete Townesend just a short while ago, and play Tommy again. Kiss are still touring after Paul Stanley promised he wouldn't repeat their (the Who's) example. At what point do we "the fans" get wise to such bullshit, or the bandmembers start being real to themselves? Noone wants to see the end, but I'm sick of hearing "fairwell tours". So you aren't considering Obama a risk to peace? He's already set up one of the oldest excuses in the book...

I truelly understand what you've been saying in your posts DF, and agree with most of them. There would also be alot more people alive, if driving a vehicle wasn't determined by age as well. We could risk a revolution by changing the laws, but the risk would be too great for it to every actually happen.

My racial comment was actually spawned by every tv channel I tuned into was bringing up the racial significance of our president elect, and not neccesarily what he'll be doing for the American people, and worldly issues, and I was getting sick of hearing it.

Dog saliva is probably better than any laundry detergent on the market. Allowing them to lick the laundry clean may be an option. However there is always the risk of the shredding of said clothing.

Hello DF! Hope you are feeling well.  I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. It's my fault for not seperating the racial post from the response to your comment on youngsters, and it hit me wrong that you called a few hundred-thousand voters "idiots"..

My Christian views really have nothing to do with the political views of any leaders. I've always believed that any Earthly government will ultimately fulfill the book of Revelations anyways, and that every step towards the day that God's Kingdom comes to Earth is a great day.

I simply voted for Obama, because I didn't want another Bush administration. It's time for a new direction. It's also good to finally take a huge step IMO in overcoming racial tensions.

To answer your latest question...I do read your posts. I simply chose one small part to respond to.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Saturday, November 08, 2008 10:39:58 AM)

"As I have said over and over the last year or two, this is what happens when we have a voting public that looks to the likes of someone that calls himself "P Diddy"  or "Snoop" for their direction. This is NOT Obama's fault, this is the fault of allowing idiots and children to vote."

I know plenty of intelligent, elderly, white folk that voted for Obama ( who never heard of P Diddy, or Snoop Dog), but rather, because they were sick-and-tired, of Republican "answers" to the U.S.'s problems! It was proven across this great Nation by the number of Senate leaders, and Congressmen that were voted in to the appropriate offices.  People over the age of 18 aren't considered "children"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give Obama his CUDOS for bringing young MEN, and WOMEN  to realize their worth at the voting booth, and proving that their voice/vote DOES count!

Reguardless of what any of us think at this juncture in time,...we will ALL have to take a "wait, and see" mentality...to see, if any of the campaign promises will become reality. Let us all just take the moment to embrace to significant historical step  this Nation has taken towards the future of true democracy, and the dream that many of us hold dear to our hearts as to what it means for ALL humans regardless of color, and background!

Now enough of the "racial" bullshit. I, and many voted for Obama, because he was the better candidate! NUFF SAID!!!!!

I don't see the sadness in his death. Only selfishness of those that will miss his time here on Earth. As he said...he is going to a better place...to be with our Lord, and Savior!!!! A win-win situation indeed!!! That is a reason for joy, and leaves an opportunity, for all of us left here on Earth to embrace his lifes accomplishments...not sorrow. Let us bow our heads in celebration of this life that has passed beyond our Earthly knowing, and truelly remember his legacy for what it truelly means to any who knew him....and for those like me who didn't...let us truelly pray that he did indeed know Jesus Christ in his heart, and loved him, and God his father, enough to be given the eternal life that that encompasses! Amen!

I'm keeping to the shadows of the site, almost on a daily basis. That should be no surprise for anyone who checks their "friends list". Just enjoying the conversations, and most importantly seeing that everyone's healthy enough to type at least. I haven't had much to say, nor felt a desire to join in the conversations is all. Nothing personal...just keeping it mellow.

Hello everyone, and a great BIG welcome to all the new members since the last time I posted out here on the boards. I've seen alot of great people posting here recently, and a couple bad seeds. Happy to see Murray has the weed killer at the ready as usual. Anyways...you all have a great time posting, and sharing the love of our beloved Judas Priest!  Keep the Faith!

No apology necessary. I respect every one's opinion, and I certainly don't "hate" anyone. I was disagreeing with your comment on what Judas Priest should be about. That's for them to decide. As for the rest of my post...I'll pick Judas Priest over any other band still recording new music that's out there. With the exeption of a non-forseen Pink Floyd CD. Nostradamus is a damned good biography of his life, and perhaps what he was feeling during his life. Even JP members have said it may not be for everyone, and warned us it was a different direction musically. I'm not one of those saying it's their best, in fact I'm not sure where I rank it. My favorite will always be Sad Wings of Destiny, and Turbo 2nd, but that's just my opinion, and for personal reasons.

I couldn't dis-agree with you more. Judas Priest decides what they are about. Should this course they have chosen become their style of "Heavy Metal Opera" music...then I am going along for the ride. I personally didn't want anything that we've heard before. They've already perfected that style of music, and the resiliance of all their previous works speak for themselves. As shall Nostradamus in the years to come. The next project may be even more different than this, or anything else, and I will embrace it with open arms, and mind as well.

[DemonCat] Monday, August 18, 2008 12:39:17 PM
Pink Floyd members claim to have never been on any kind of hallucinogens while creating their music. They were the first to create music to coincide with light affects was all. The crowds that were attending their shows were the ones hallucinating on mind damaging drugs. As for the internet...yes...it was created by a now well known hippy. Yet think about this for a moment. The hippies were very social people. Yet the internet can be seen as anti-social, and we certainly aren't out enjoying nature whenever we are on a home pc. Ohh btw alcohol in large amounts can cause hallucinations, so I can, and do compare it to all other drugs. None of it is healthy.

As for enjoying music from the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Jimmy Hendrix, ect. ect. ect. I do enjoy their music very much dispite the fact that they were experiencing the affects of such drugs as LSD, magical mushrooms, and marijuana. That doesn't mean their music is "best experienced" under the influence of such drugs. In fact I find it to be quite the opposite.

I'd have to disagree 150% on that. I saw Pink Floyd twice. I don't remember much of the first one, because I was really drunk at the time. The second was the best concert I'd ever seen! I recall almost every detail, because I was straight. There's NO drug like the adrenaline rush a great concert with great music, from such a great band can provide!!!

TOPIC: Backward Lyrics
[DemonCat] Friday, August 15, 2008 8:48:41 AM
I must add here that many of the fluke "backwards tracks" are a stretch of the imagination. I had heard some on a record player that allowed you to turn the disc by hand, and some older reel-to-reels. Knowing what it was supposed to have said backwards made it easy to hear what one expected in the line. When heard with an open mind, and not knowing what they may "say" backwards...most are just garbled sounds with noises (voices) that sound like they may be words. The only exceptions to this are the ones done purposefully.

By far the most interesting to me was Prince's song Little red corvette album version. The intro was backwards garble. When played backwards it said "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. I only want to have some fun." However the backwards line on the LP when played at the regular 33 & 1/3 RPM sounds slowed down, and in fact when you played it at 45 RPM, it then sounded like Prince's regular voice.
