@guido yeah all this covid shit ....yeah what a mess huh? Fucking sick of it that's for sure.  Yeah man AC/DC Power Up is absolutely awesome... All 12 tracks reek of Back In Black,For Those About To Rock and Flick Of The Switch albums... This is by far thier best work since then it's awesome

@guido I'm ordering Halford's book this week I can't wait! And on another note... AC/DC has released POWER UP and let me just say OMG guys this record is AC/DC's best album since 1983's Flick Of The Switch album!  It really blows away all albums after Flick Of The Switch. All 12 songs reek of mean AC/DC sweat bare knuckles and whisky like the early 80's this is the AC/DC we grew up on

Hey guido,Vail, acoyltte ... Just checkin in I keep forgetting to log in though I've been reading every month. Yeah not mentioning the chaos out there in the real world lol.

Anyway, I'm stoked that Judas Priest is in the studio working. I have a gut feeling that Glenn will play more solos even simple ones idk why.

And Firepower has been so awesome to listen to I think it's gotten better!!  All 14 tracks are just fabulous,it's unreal.

I can only imagine the next album, the album cover art work and a new mystical being repertoire for us to use imagination observing it while listening to the album.

Still not interested in K.K.'s Priest.  But hats off to those who will enjoy it.  I'm cool with Ritchie and have been as soon as I saw enough footage to get the vibe that he is a true member of Judas Priest.

I grew up with Glenn and K.K. as heroes those guys will always be but for me Ritchie is too because he saved the band and idk what the odds are but managed to fit into the band pretty much like Dio replacing Ozzy filling K.K.'s shoes with his own style. Amazing.

I read the same thing.  KK just put this band together a few weeks back and the album is already written. Sonehow this is not a good sign like British Steel written and recorded in 6 weeks.

I think the popularity of 2018's FIREPOWER destoyed KK inside with envy and jealously and will do just about anything now he can for attention.

The funniest is idiot fans comments saying how KKs Priest is more Priest and original members than the current Priest... REALLY? LOL

KK is the only one who is a true Priest member,Les Binks a good rock drummer at 69 years old after 40 years away from the band,he was only in Priest for 16.months!

Scott Travis has been in the band for 31 years now!.Rob,Ian,Scott and Glenn is still IN the band, its a fuckin joke. Ripper and KK fans will like whatever he puts out most likely, never liked Ripper and KK has reached a point for me as just fucking annoyong.

I see K.K. has formed "K.K.'s Priest" with Owens and Les Binks,Im glad for those who are excited about this,K.K. will always be my guitar hero under Glenn that is and always love what he brought us.

For me I've always hated Owens and Jugulator and Demolition too, just my opinion. But again im glad K.K. is happy again. As far as this new album coming from them ...im sure it will please Jugulator and Demolition fans but in no way shape or form imo can it touch Judas Priest in the studio these days.

Redeemer Of Souls and Firepower are extremly classic records that if were released in 1986 and 1988 instead of Turbo and Ram It Down, they would be worshiped as ultra heavy metal classics and actually would of bridged a streak of top notch albums from British Steel to Painkiller. If you take Jugulator and Demolition and release them in 86 and 88 they would be looked at as worse than Turbo or Ram It Down.

Today's opinions of music is sooooooo picky ... in the 80's you have an obvious lame record,or inbetween or kick ass. These albums all could of been recorded a tiny bit "better" maybe mixed a tiny bit better maybe but in the 80's did we even bring up production?? Not that I can recall,at all. Did anyone gripe about Defenders of The Faith, although one of the best albums I get THAT but its not nearly as heavy as British Steel or Screaming For Vengeance production, sound wise if you really think about it and if released today it would be bashed heavily...but did anyone bitch about it? No.

Yet in today's era Priest releases Firepower and although its gotten more positive reviews than negative its still scoffed at with flaws of some sort, with Glenn playing solos on half the album with harmonies the other and his song writting is all over it. Rob,Glenn,Ian,Scott and Ritchie on studio IS JUDAS PRIEST. It just floors me people have the gull to question Firepower.

You know at this point... Firepower has 14 tracks. Half of them have Glenn's solos.

Evil Never Dies - first solo
Necromancer - 2nd solis trading off and on
Children Of the Sun - 2nd solo
Guardians -both Glenn & Ritchie
Rising from Ruins - 2nd solo
Flamethrower - 2nd solo
Sea of Red - 1st solo

The other 7 tracks have Ritchie's solos which is fine,as Glenn wrote ,helped write
most of them. But will Glenn be ABLE to play 'ANY' solos on the next album?
Will he even be able to lay down a rhythm?

It makes me wonder if a new Judas Priest album should even be made without Glenn?
If Glenn can't play on studio,do we really NEED a new Judas Priest album?
Imo i dont think they should do another album unless Glenn can play MORE on this new
album than Firepower. Otherwise i just can't see the point.

Obvioulsy he's pissed off Glenn and Rob worse than Rob pissed off Himself and Glenn when Rob quit. I remember K.K. saying Rob would never sing in the band again. So who knows whats all really been said.

It's safe to say that if K.K. wanted back in the band this much then it wasn't a wise decision to make statements about the band that goes mainstream like how Glenn was basically an asshole that drank too much and how K.K. would ask the crew to water his beers down and all other things we've read.

So you'd think if he wanted back in he would of never said those things and just bite his tongue and mend things with Glenn. Idk...

Happy Thanksgiving guys hope everyone is eating up good today and with family.

I have read the news about K.K. reaching out to Judas Priest about the 50th anniversary of the band's existance and apparently the band meaning first Glenn, then Rob,Ian and Janye Andrews - management responding they have no plans on including him.

Over all - overal all, after everything is into perspective as a fan I agree with guido as I love K.K. even though he's pissed me off saying some things about Glenn and the band even if what he said is 100% TRUE its just stuff he should of never told us fans,it was SELFISH it just is. But I will always love this guy he's one of my heros.

But that being said we dont know anything what's going on so as a fan: I wish he could just tell Glenn,Rob and Ian he is very sorry and I wish those guys could just accept his apologies and welcome him back into the band at this point K.K. surely would take a pay cut so he doesn't disrupt  $$$ what's currently being paid in thier system....

It would be killer if Glenn thought this over, because like Paul runs Kiss,Iommi runs Sabbath,Harris runs Maiden,Glenn runs Priest, nothing is approved officially unless Glenn says so.

It would be kick ass because we had Ritchie with Glenn and now unfortunately Glenn's situation, we could have Ritchie with .K.K. even just live and no album would be ok at this point.  I guess the relationship is not fixable.

@guido.... Lol yeah if I can put up with my former job I'd be game for pretty much anything, well maybe not.... Had hernia surgery on 5/22 earlier this year. Won't be lifting heavy stuff so pretty much anything else that doesn't require heavy lifting.

I'd die from the pot withdrawals alone ... Actually don't have a vehicle yet here,my car crapped out 5 days before I came down here so it's very hard to make it to the pot shop in Colorado. I'm actually going through withdrawals right now. It's mostly mental but there is a physical side to it too...sweats,hard to sleep at night, anxiety, the whole ball of wax... Yeah needless to say it sucks. Once I get a car I'll be getting my weed when I want it lol. But in the meantime I'm suffering 😭

@guido,.... Yeah man I'm all moved in here, actually we live exactly on the border of Colorado and Nebraska, but technically live in Venango Nebraska... I can walk 5 minutes and across the border to Colorado...Ha! Denver is like just under 2 hr drive from here... Venango Nebraska is very peaceful,it's like Andy Griffith and the town of Maybery or however it was spelled lol Yeah nice trees in the town, every yard cut nice and smooth old houses, rocking chairs on porches and everyone is friendly, everyone knows each other and there is no drama lol. Victoria is cook at the bar and grill in town and I'm just getting used to everything. Not sure yet what I'm gonna do but she's got the bills covered so I can pretty much do anything... Maybe I'll fly out to TN and guido can land me a seasonal job in exchange for a trip to the Rockies lol.

In the almost 30 years I've been there the management has changed 5 times ....this current one being THE WORST. I've got till Wednesday the 28th of this month and I'm outta there!!

To make it worse, the shot peen wheelabrator machine is so old and beat up,it leaks shot underneath the manual peen cabinet up to your knees... holes throughout that leak, this is like from the 70's... P.C.C. is a multi billion dollar corporation that owns 125 companys yet they cant buy a pocket change brand new $800,000 dollar wheelabrator .Sad... especially the fact it would pay for itself after 2 years.

These idiots wont listen to somebody who's seen a thing or 2 the last 30 years! These fuck heads care NOTHING about anything except thier fucking hot expedite jobs... Im the most productive in shot peen in the company's history and I actually had a GM question some of my production without investigating the wheelabrator first,FUCKING pissed me off boy,but because i was at work I held it together...

Wait in 3 weeks when i put in my 2 weeks notice!!! They are going to SHIT themselves sidewsys!!!!

And then the cock sucker GM will get a rookie fucking jobs up left and right or no production either or...

@guido.... (not ignoring you Vail or Acolyte) been talking shot peen every blue moon with guido for years ...

Been at my company in September it'll be 30 years ! Well ....Im moving to Colorado September 14th !
Victoria's home land .... her brother Darrell and his wife live in a big 2 story house and both work and make lots of money.... they have a small 2 bedroom one bath on an acre of land behind it... his kids lived there but now have a house of thier own...

He doesnt want to rent to strangers even though he could get a nice rent payment a month extra...
So Victoria is there now...

The rent, water, sewer and garbage combined is get this: $290.00 bucks a month
Then just electricity.... Victoria is working at Ace Hardware right now making all the payments herself...
So im leaving the Aerospace industry and finding something I want to do for the next 13 years till Im 62 elegible for retirement....

Im going to pay our rent 9 months in advance and Victoria will pay the electricity and our phones,my car insurance.... im taking October,November and December off to soak up my new environment...

Guys Judas Priest at the Showare Center Friday night was spectacular!!!! Necromancer opened and even Out In The Cold felt at ease ... Take These Chains was awsome! Sure its Andy up there,no Glenn as we all knew he's in England writing riffs etc... its not Priest without KK and Glenn? Ok but thier not claiming to be something thier not,its a cellebration of the spirit of Judas Priest in my eyes and ears.

Studio wise its definitely Judas Priest because Glenn is all over the album, and will be on the next album too... but god damn Rob.... he's incredible!! Ritchie is such a fucking monster soloist Id go as far as saying he's long surpased Randy Rhoads to start with and the list goes on... its incredible especially live!

Loved the set list and the place was packed. Just so lucky to still be able to see the band live thanks to Andy! I know Andy can't possibly keep this gig being a producer but he sure is great live hail to Andy!!

Check out blabbermouth.net and post the video I had issues wirh the link ...
Judas Priest ,Rob in Sweden ...

Apparently he was trying to read teleprompter lyrics to Judas Rising while someone
in the front row was filming on thier cell phone using a BLINDING LIGHT at Rob's eyes so he kicked the
cell phone out of the guys hands, phone went flying up then as gravity pulls it down lol You can see the
kick too,perfect kick ...

hey guido he could kick for an NFL team with that leg lol. I'm sure he'll be sued over this and may nor of been the #1 best thing to do but fuckin a man you KNOW the light is on and you know it's blinding his eye sight trying to read lyrics what an idiot that used his light to record especially shinning it in Rob's eyes that was almost just as rude as Rob kicking it out of his hands so maybe next show this person goes to they'll think twice before shinning a light at a live performer.

And all upcoming Priest shows fans will think twice before shinning a light at Rob lol

For a year now he has been negatively bashing Rob,Glenn,Ian,Scott Ritchie and even ANDY! I'm so
fucking sick of him saying it's not Priest without him and all the other dumb shit he says. Why the
Fuck would the band want him back after all the mud he's slung?

No way would I want him back
in Judas Priest not now,not after everything he has said. Fans should realize it's him that has kept
himself out of the band first by quitting then by shit talking the band.

I believe this is the 8th Molly Hatchet member to pass away in thier history if I'm correct.
Phil was the 3rd vocalist for Molly Hatchet and was an excellent song writter. He took over
for Danny Joe Brown in 1996 ... 23 years. Rest in peace Phil Molly Hatchet fans all over the world mourn today.

2 albums to not listen to are 1984 "Deed Is Done" as it is simply not MH but the producers pop attempt
at hair rock. Not thier sound and it's terrible like Turbo but worse. 2010's Justice album is dull material that would fit on b sides. Any other MH albums are superb.

The 5 albums most dont know exists are 1989 - Lightning Strikes Twice, 1996 - Devil's Canyon, 1998 - Silent Reign Of Heroes Kingdom of XII -2000 and Warriors Of The Rainbow Bridge - 2005 excellent .... wish they would release a new album.

Phil McCormick,Bobby Ingrim bunch of
hill billies from Jacksonville drinking whisky eating sweet potato pie lol Yes thier southern rock but they are pretty much rock and roll, and if you like rock and roll Fuckin Molly Hatchet kicks ass.

@ vail.... yes Scorpions kick butt. I used to be a Kiss fan, still am but from 1974 to 2000. Just SICK of them now lol. AC/DC from 1974 to 1983 also kicks butt. Started getting into music when I was a little kid in the late 70's cause my best friend's brother was like 10 years older than us and got us into music.

Heavy Metal is a blood that runs through my viens and is #1 of course. Beatles,Stones,Zeppelin,Kiss...
70's Aerosmith,AC/DC multiple bands I've liked we never mention much because I usually mention heavy metal and other metal genres ....

But my favorite non metal band I have albums of since I was a kid and have them on CD for years is southern rock legends "Molly Hatchet". Yeah man Sony Michelle the rooky RB got the games only TD,a real defensive beat down 3-3 late going into the 4th. I haven't seen a defense shut down New England's offense THAT well for THAT long in a playoff game in a long time so A+ for the Ram's defense for sure man.

But the Ram's offense with Jered Goff really got overwhelmed and out coached. It's just amazing what Donte Scarnecchia the old offensive line coach has achieved all this time with so many different offensive lineman to protect Tom Brady, and the players executing thier play on the field. It's something that gets overlooked. And Belichick is a GENIOUS man it's incredible, then Tom... 6 Rings... Josh McDaniels offensive coordinator also excellent working with Brady.

With the dirt K.K. said about Glenn and the band in general I wouldn't let him back in the band.
And I had wished they would of made up by now but it's too late for that now id guess.
Even if everything he said was true,it's obviously he didn't care about the consequences
following what he had said. If he did truly want back in the band it's quite obvious he went
about it the entirely wrong way. Big time. At this point im fine with Ritchie taking over lead guitars.

Whatever the situation was we'll never know but whoever it waswho made
the decision NOT to tour Nostra-bore-us in it's entirety I'd like to hug and
Kiss them because I fuckin HATE that album.

There are 5 albums that shouldn't of been recorded and shoved off on us
fans: TURBO...RAM IT DOWN...JUGULATOR....DEMOLITION...
...NOSTRADAMOUS. They should have Mr.Yuk stickers on them. HA!

Here is some fun:

Here's my "The Worst Of Judas Priest" double album 21 tracks excluding at least
the Jugulator,Demolition and Nostradamous albums:

1.Here Come The Tears
2.Burning Up
3.Before The Dawn
4.Evil Fantasies
5.Don't Go
6.All The Way
7.Troubleshooter
8.Eat Me Alive
9.Turbo Lover
10.Locked In
11.Private Property (2nd worst Priest track ever)
12.Parental Guidance(THE worst Priest song ever)
13.Hot For Love
14.Love Zone
15.Im A Rocker
16.Johnny Be Goode
17.Love You To Death
18.Monsters Of Rock
19.Revolution
20.Lochness
21.Metalizer

These songs I've always hated and think they shouldn't
of even been recorded. I know some like some of these songs
and to each his own but also I know there are other tracks that
come close but I somehow still like every song not mentioned
here and those 3 shit albums I excluded.

@Metalman JP from the blah thread....

I highly disagree with everything you've said. I've never had the impression
Glenn was a "jerk" not to mention I don't believe everything K.K. says.
And not sure how Glenn held the band back supposedly "taking over"?
Had he not the last Judas Priest album would of been 2008's Nostradamous lp.

Downing has BOLDLY made it CLEAR he wanted to PUSH Judas Priest into the
NOSTRADAMOUS direction touring it....and has also said that He wanted Nostradamous
to be the LAST Priest album. Had Glenn not took hold of the wheel this band would be retired long ago.

The album is so GREAT that It's #4th best Priest album imo. It's incredibly superb quality and all 14 tracks are absolutely grand gems. And Flame thrower ? Yeah it's fuckin excellent man I love this track and to top it off it's got Glenn's fabulous slide guitar solo god it's one of my favorite Tipton solos because it's got pure attitude and balls, pure heavy metal like moonshine its so pure and from one of the original creator of the genre.

Necromancer to me tops Night Crawler and Demonizer it's so kick ass and Glenn's solos here is really good considering his Parkinson's. Fuckin Glenn is a non stop fighter he's shown the fans!

Ritchie is simply on fire on this album and his solos are memorable Judas Priest worthy as his riffs. The whole album is just kick fucking ass.

It beats the Defenders of the Faith and Painkiller albums by a hair imo. I'll say Screaming,British Steel and Sad Wings of Destiny are better.

1.SFV. 10.HBFL

Well the thing is K.K. says he regrets losing control of the band's decision making. Eddie Trunk interview audio has K.K. speaking about this and he says Glenn was too controlling with the band's decision making etc... and K.K. goes right into the NOSTRADAMOUS era and says how HE WANTED to play the album in it's entirety and wanted to PUSH the album to it's fullest commercial potential.

Well let me just say that sure that may be true but can you imagine if K.K. ended up controlling the band over Glenn? There would be no Redeemer Of Souls,no Firepower,no Ritchie.... just an extended tour, live album after Nostradamous. The next studio album would of been a watered down JP album id imagine with K.K. at that time if there even would of been one.

Could it be that Glenn,Rob and Ian didn't SHARE the enthusiasm to promote Nostradamous in it's entirety so Glenn went behind closed doors to Jayne and said NO WAY on Nostradamous tour and this is why the 30th anniversary of British Steel came about to promote IT INSTEAD?

I believe it was. Yes Glenn,Rob love Nostradamous but at the same time realized that the fans were craving Judas Priest style heavy metal. Remember there were musical differences between K.K. and the band. Rob mentioned afterwards that "The band has much more to say" and how Ian mentioned they wanted to continue on with traditional heavy metal albums "like Angel Of Retribution" etc...

With all the things said from K.K. and how the band is on top of thier game ever since Ritchie Faulkner joined the band I can't fathom HOW there will ever be a scenario where K.K. joins the band unless it's a one song ordeal at a possible Rock And Roll Hall of fame had they be inducted but that's it.

I think K.K. is bitter because of how successful Firepower turned out to be and how much attention Judas Priest are getting with this.

Ok one of the things K.K. Downing keeps complaining about in different articles lately, sure Blabbermouth.net or others will take something he said and post it looking like K.K. keeps doing daily interviews when he may of only done a couple in one day and that was it yet again,it looks like he is posting stuff every other day but HE did say those things.

Now a question for guido, acolyte and Vail due to the fact us 4 seem to be posting consistantly:

You guys have SEEN the band perform live MULTIPLE times and Guido you have multiple audio bootlegs from all over 70s,80s,90,2000s,2010s.... from every decade. Has Glenn Tipton ever sounded "off".... out of rhythm perhaps or sloppy as if he's had too many beers??

K.K. says again that Glenn's drinking was slowing down the band and made K.K. "fucking nervous" to the point that he didn't know if the gig they were playing they were gonna be "ok" or not and how the other guys in the band FELT THE SAME WAY and that he tried talking to Glenn about his "drinking habits" but THAT got him nowhere. All this Glenn's drinking ....and K.K. even said "not that the fans would of noticed but I'm a perfectionist and want everything perfect.

I believe K.K. YES why would he make up something like this ok. But to WHAT extent? If it was that big of an issue don't you think ROB and Ian would of SAID something to the point of taking action?

In other words I think I'm saying K.K. may be exaggerating this beyond it's validity.
I really do. What do you guy's think?

guido absolutely!!! Ritchie not only does Sinner Justice,he does Judas Priest Justice. We all love K.K. and wish thing turned out better with him and the band.

I know K.K. may not be ringing up Blabbermouth.net and saying something every day,it's Blabbermouth taking bits of things he's said and posting them multiple times but the fact here is HE SAID THEM.
His comments about the band how Glenn drank too much during live songs was a LOW BLOW by K.K. and how he said Ritchie is basically a clone.

Saying he can play Sinner better than Ritchie was UNCALLED for as a fan in my opinion. Yeah K.K. obviously your the one who wrote the guitar solo. What a dis on Ritchie. Saying the band had run it's course. And many other negative bullshit.

It's SAFE to say he'll never play in the band after those kind of negative comments.its just BEST for Judas Priest if K.K. remains a past legend and the band keep on promoting the Firepower album and tour.

The thing that K.K. doesn't realize is that Ritchie is approx. 2 1/2 years away from being in Judas Priest for a decade. Yeah 10 years that's crazy to think and what else he's not realizing is that an OVERWHEALMING amount of fans LOVE Ritchie Faulkner ... who the hell wouldn't like Ritchie besides K.K.?

We have accepted him as a permanent legit member and an elite member of the band.
To me Ritchie is just as important to Judas Priest as Glenn and K.K. are.

Without Ritchie we would of lost Judas Priest in December 2010.

Well.... these guy's are like brothers that's for sure, family definitely so they can say stuff about each other and then water under the bridge. Who knows ....

K.K. if your reading this by some fluke chance then text Rob or Glenn and just say if you need me I'm here for you guys no questions asked,if not love you guys, let's have a beer when you have timeπŸ‘

Rob,Glenn, if your reading this by some fluke chance then text K.K. and have a beer with him ,reminisce old times and see where it goes.

All us fans have strongly accepted Ritchie as a legit Judas Priest member and love Andy stepping in too and also at the same time think about how cool it would be to have Rob,Glenn and Ian getting along with K.K. and him playing with Ritchie with Glenn doing encores when possible.

Dreaming about that "what if chemistry" but regardless of what has or hasn't been said who cares right, the point is that it would be cool if everyone got along again and K.K. came back home.

I think K.K. and Ritchie could sound great together definitely with Glenn and his input ideas.
K.K. .... I still love the guys character in the band, had pictures cut out of magazines of Rob,Glenn ,K.K. and Ian all over my bedroom walls when I was a teen (never had Dave Holland's though, never fit in )

So he is still along with Glenn my guitar hero. Ritchie is too,my 3rd guitar hero.
But let's hope by a MIRICLE that somehow Glenn,Rob and Ian talk to K.K. out of friendship to get him back to Judas Priest.

Dude, I know right? He even said fans want to hear him play Sinner because he's the originator and how he can play it better than Ritchie etc... how Glenn is too hard to get along with and how he had beers inbetween songs which was a LOW BLOW by K.K.

And how he reads fans comments that say "No K.K.,NO Priest" which out of millions of comments there aren't that many complaining about Firepower now are there K.K.?

Idk but just a guess but I think the band may still be PISSED OFF at him a tad from when he retired right after the Epitaph tour was booked and started to go on sale... left Rob,Glenn Ian and Scott without a second needed guitar player.

Notice K.K. wasn't around,or his comments like this during the Redeemer Of Souls album? Why? Because half the fans were complaining about the production and the mix etc...(although I thought Glenn did a good job)and the album didn't chart nowhere near the top 200 charts .....made him feel like they can't succeed without him.

Now 2018 Firepower comes out with Tom Allom,Andy Sneap with a kick ass production and Rob,Glenn,Ritchie,Ian and Scott ontop of thier game and the songs all of them outstanding, fans an OVERWHELMING amount of fans LOVE IT and it charts #5 the highest charting album ever by Judas Priest.

Plus the tour with Glenn getting so much attention fighting his Parkinson's... I don' think K.K. can handle it,and totally went totally mad?

Idk but after all his comments like this it's highly doubtful that Glenn will let him back in the band. Doesn' take a rocket scientist to figure it out but apparently K.K. has Alzheimer's?

He calls Ritchie his clone basically calls Glenn a drunk and by the way K.K. I've never seen a less than stellar performance from Glenn live or on audio live recordings.

It's like he's bashing everything he can think of to sell his book. I sure as HE'LL do NOT want him in the band after all this horse shit he's said. I think it's disrespectful of the current members flying the flag of the band's legacy,so what if Ian said some shit get over it.

Nothing happens in Judas Priest unless Glenn says so. So if Glenn decides to bring back
K.K. he'll do it,if we never see K.K. we can assure Glenn holds no hard feelings but opted
not to bring him back on board for only reasons Glenn shares with the rest of the band.

K.K. Downing has been in the news yes,all over Blabbermouth.net making comments to
promote his book I'm sure of. But him saying Glenn had a few beers inbetween songs
... this guy is struggling through Parkinson's disease with the Priest track No Surrender
and K.K.'s kicking him when he's down, telling Ian to "get a grip" etc.... this is sad to see
K.K. so bitter but you know what guys?

Remember the Epitaph your 2011 when tickets were sold shows were booked and then K.K. leaves
them high and dry retires.

So they get Ritchie on a MIRICLE and now the band is supposed to drop what thier doing and deal
with K.K.? He screwed himself with those negative comments this year.

Now there's no way he'll ever be called back. I don't really think K.K. wanted back in the fucking band
I think he "wanted to be asked" and like he even said "he'd of probably have said no".

Let's hope K.K. finds happiness and our Band is fine without him.

tasnam1! Nice to see you man and like you Vail and guido said
Firepower is awsome!

I've listened to every album in it's entirety these last few weeks and
from doing so by god damn it anyways .... I did say Firepower was
equal to any Classic Priest album there is. Then I said it wasnt.
Then I said it was. So for the final time trust me I've made up my
mind now,you got to remember I did a lot of partying in the 80's lol

Yeah it's smoking in fire this album is BUT.... no,not equal which isn't
a bad thing,it's just too hard to equal Screaming for Vengeance.
Without K.K. it may be just too hard to achieve but Firepower is
such a great Priest record. I think if Glenn never had Parkinson's
and was able to shread solos like he used to,it would of been equal
even without K.K. But man it's got to be the band's 6th best album
out of 18 studio albums though.

@Vail yeah 100% no way Glenn or Rob would allow Andy playing a solo on the album,no way
so it's most likely Ritchie's solo. The 5 tracks in a row in the middle of the album are definitely
Glenn's solos in there,it's his signature style.

But the rest is too hard to figure out because some of Ritchie's solo style has a little Glenn
influence in there especially the 2nd half of the Firepower solo and especially the No Surrender
solo sounds exactly what Glenn would of done, but not in a bad way,it's understanding being
Ritchie had Glenn to learn from for the last 7 yesrs.

Glenn's 5 solos mentioned are incredible considering his Parkinson's. I wonder if he'll even
be able to play on a next album. Idk,doesn't matter if they ever make another album. Firepower
Redeemer Of Souls and Angel Of Retribution are 3 elite albums we have so I'm just Glad we even
get to have an incredible album in 2018.

@acolyte...

Perhaps Glenn is just on 5 tracks all in a row because those are 100% Glenn:

#5. Necromancer -------------2nd trade off solos for sure
#6. Children Of The Sun ---2nd solo right before: "Mountains Start to crumble"....
#7. Guardians ------------------Both
#8. Rising from Ruins ------2nd solo
#9. Flame Thrower ----------2nd solo

The rest Ritchie? One thing that they could do differently would be
not to over lay the next part of the solo over the top of a finishing
one like in the title track Firepower Ritchie plays this entire solo
not only live but before they went on tour there was a video of him
playing it along with the studio version is what is heard.

On the audio it sounds like of course Ritchie when the solo hits but
You can hear the next part of the solo sliding down into the part that
finishes the solo... when I first heard this I thought Glenn kicked in
with his solo to finish but it is definitely Ritchie.

Either way still Glenn rips out 5 solos on this record for sure and
Ritchie's solo' s are outstanding to say the least. Glenn had so much
more input to the song writing and structure of those tracks.

TOPIC: Metal Blah for n00bs & restricted
[J.D. DIAMOND] Wednesday, July 25, 2018 5:05:51 PM
Ok so I was dead wrong on the solo to No Surrender,I thought it sounded
like Glenn for the life of me,but the video proves it's Ritchie.

Now... the solos:

Firepower --------------- Ritchie
Lightning Strike -------Ritchie
Evil Never Dies ---------first solo GLENN second Ritchie
Never The Heros------- I did say Glenn, but changing to Ritchie
Necromancer ---------- trade offs: Ritchie/Glenn/Ritchie/Glenn
Children Of The Sun ---first solo Ritchie second Glenn
Guardians -----------------Both
Rising from Ruins ------first solo Ritchie second Glenn
Flame Thrower ----------first solo Ritchie second Glenn
Spectre ---------------------Ritchie
Traitors's Gate -----------Ritchie
No Surrender -------------Ritchie
Lone Wolf ------------------Ritchie
Sea Of Red ----------------Glenn then Ritchie

Where am I wrong now if I am?

I know the first solo in Evil Never Dies has a guitar wha effect Ritchie
uses alot but live Andy plays this part....if it's Ritchie then why would
Andy play his solo? Leads me to think it's Glenn.

Guido? Head Banger? Acolyte? Vail? Nupe?

What do you think...help me figure out Glenn's solos

@vail... love that picture! @vail,guido,Head Banger, acolyte,Nupe, and everyone else
I've also been listening to Firepower everyday since it's release and by now nearing 5
months since it's release coming up(August 9th) I'm not caught up in the moment now
when I say this again... and it's MY personally ligit 100% from the heart opinion about
the album which I don't expect anyone to have to agree with me of course not etc....

But in my opinion Firepower is EQUAL to any Classic Priest album there is. If Screaming
For Vengeance is Judas Priest's best album then Firepower is EQUAL to it. If Defenders
Of The Faith is Judas Priest's best record then Firepower is EQUAL to it. Sad Wings of Destiny
or Stained Class,British Steel or Painkiller or Angel Of Retribution... Firepower is EQUAL to it.

I'm also not saying Firepower is BETTER than the other elite albums which is to keep in mind
while I state my opinion.... not at all,I LOVE Screaming,Sad Wings,British Steel and DOTF .....
absolutely but I can't put them ahead of Firepower either....

I love every song on Firepower, all 14 are classic GEMS that many bands will cover in the future.
Lone Wolf is fuckin BAD ASS,Sea Of Red I love too,I know you didn't like this track Head Banger
but even if you skip this track and even Flame Thrower cause your not too thrilled with it,we all
can't like the same thing all the time it goes for me too,but even taking those 2 off the album the
11 tracks remaining STILL an incredible amount of songs to be this good across the board...shit
even take another track off...10 songs left is still an incredible amount of songs to be this good..

But I'm blown away on Firepower... It doesn't HAVE to have K.K. and Glenn's twin solos etc... the
solos the way they are structured here are BRILLIANT.

Guardians and Rising From Ruins the best masterpiece on the record and to me is as great as any Priest track ever written.

I never thought I'd ever say that an album this far into thier career can be equal to any Classic Priest album,it just blows me away. I also can see why Head Banger can see A.O.R. as equal.... in my opinion
Judas Rising,Demonizer and Hell Rider are 3 of Priest's best tracks top 15 for sure.

It's all opinions of course but yes Firepower is a masterpiece that has blown my mind and I also
think Ritchie Faulkner IS equal to K.K. Downing in style, sound and importance to the band.

Hail Firepower!

@guido... Fuckin A Glenn's SLIDE SOLO in Flame Thrower is one of my FAVORITE solos of
all time and I'm not just saying that cause the album is new,it's among my favorite already!
Fuckin thing is just fuckin BAD ASS man,it fuckin RULZ and is my favorite guitar solo on the
album...

LOVE how he rolls in after Ritchie's killer solo and it just BURNS right in with Glenn's
signature style unmistakably Glenn, and those pinching harmonics at the end he does totally
REEKS of Tipton's kick ass style... definitely my top 5 Tipton guitar solos.....

Fuck I love that solo, every time I hear it I'm automatically making air guitar moves and a funny face while I do it I'm sure of lol. A+ solo for Mr. Tipton I hope he does a couple more solos like this on the
next album!

@ Head Banger....

stun definition:

knock unconscious or into a dazed or semiconscious state.
"the man was strangled after being stunned by a blow to the head"
synonyms: daze, stupefy, knock unconscious, knock out, lay out
"a glancing blow stunned Gary"
astonish or shock (someone) so that they are temporarily unable to react.
"the community was stunned by the tragedy"
synonyms: astound, amaze, astonish, dumbfound, stupefy, stagger, shock, take aback;

Technically a flamethrower can STUN you if your running and get hit from behind knocks
you to the ground and get back up running again .... obviously I've been hit from behind
from a flamethrower many times to be able to causally tell you what it feels like, clearly lol!

Ian Hill interviewed at Hellfest France June 22nd was asked about his final thoughts on K.K. Downing's March 18' comment about how K.K. said he was "shocked and stunned" he wasn't asked back to the band to step into his original role as guitarist for Judas Priest and how he thought he made the right decision to step down because they did not call him back. A previous interview Ian said: We thought he'd be shocked and stunned "HAD" we called him back... and in this recent interview also posted on Blabbermouth.net Ian had this to say:

"I didn't know, really, where he was coming from with that comment," Hill said (see video below). "I think he just played a bit of mischief, to be honest. I mean, Ken's place in the band has already been taken; he's sitting right there [referring to current PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner, who was also taking part in the press conference, alongside drummer Scott Travis]. It's also two albums down the road since 'Nostradamus', which is the last one he played on, and is he gonna be prepared to play music from the new album, which he probably would not. And on top of that, he's gonna have to learn Glenn's parts too.

So it's all reasons why we didn't [ask him to return]. Apart from that, he's been retired for nearly eight years. He hasn't since set foot on stage as far as I know, so he's hardly at the peak of his game at the moment. So, yeah, I wasn't quite sure where he was coming from with that β€” I really don't. I think it might have been just [him playing] a bit of mischief." End of subject.

Fuckin A man there is nothing that would be more cool than seeing K.K. and Ritchie AND Glenn all in Priest with "K.K.'s HEART AND SOUL INTO THE BAND "what a fantasy. But the reality is K.K. obviously isn't into this band....

Perhaps if they fired Ritchie, replaced him with K.K. and Keep Andy and play material from Rocka Rolla to Nostradamous. Idk it just seems like a far cry to expect Rob,Glenn,Ian & Scott to fire Ritchie so K.K. could "step back into his original role as guitarist for Judas Priest" as he put it. I couldn't see them performing Firepower live with K.K.'s version guitar solos of Ritchie's?

If that happened and called him back what are they gonna do,scrap playing Firepower tracks? I do love K.K. as he is always on our albums to listen to,but I do NOT miss him in Judas Priest. I just don't. I actually like Ritchie equally as I do K.K.

Redeemer Of Souls and Firepower are 2 of Judas Priest's elite best records and Ritchie seems like he's always been in Judas Priest. Glenn was right....finding Ritchie was a MIRICLE for Judas Priest.

$$$ money??? What is that? I guess I make it but never see it and never get to use it unless it's on bills lol At work at the moment on my birthday? Yep. Only working half day ....i should of just used a full vacation day ha! Oh well.... Only working 4 hours today hurray!

I've also been listening to Judas Priest's discography minus the 2 Ripper shitty logo albums. I've got a marathon going from this weekend I'm on British Steel at the moment. I'm diving in recapturing the moments I had when I first got them, and re-studdying them every song, every note. Every Judas Priest album is like the birth of a new born child to us here. It means THAT much to us. Anyways thanks for the BD props!

I agree Vail. I,just like all of us wish K.K. was IN the band but it's obvious he only wanted Rob,Glenn and Ian to pretty much kick Ritchie out of the band so he could presume his original role. That's very offensive to the band I'm sure.
People have some kind of idea that Ritchie isn't important to Judas Priest. That he's only a temporry fill in like Andy is doing for Glenn and it's not the same damn thing.

Ritchie is as important to Judas Priest as Glenn and K.K. are at this point in the band's career. 3 years from now he will have been in the band for 10 years....a decade.
And as good as Redeemer Of Souls is and now even better now with the almighty Firepower.... solidifies Ritchie.

anymore ha. Fine by us it's been the regulars posting here the majority
anyways. I do miss missing members like spa...SPA WHERE ARE YOU??
HRMG too.

"Nice to see you here again too Budred".

Man... I'm still in a state of shock at how GREAT Firepower actually is.
And seeing them live was breath taking. Very good live band too,a very
well oiled running machine.

God damn guido Firepower is SUPERB and I still can't get over Glenn's
slide guitar solo in Flame Thrower!!!

Hey guido thanks for the thread man... lol been here since January 1st 2005 and stuck in the newbie threads ha ha.
Yeah this is the exception for making a new thread lol.

My Hammerfall thread waa mainly to irritate snot...as was Saxon to irritate Brian shit headed Evans lol. Do I love Hammerfall? Hell yeah but thier not the 3rd best heavy metal act of all time but it sure chapped snot lol.
Great band though I did not like thier last album Built To Last.  They will churn out a masterpiece sooner or later.

Saxon however is one of my favorites though with good reason.

Anyways great thread ..... I feel like I'm home again lol

Guido I know right? What a joke! You can just see the envy and jealousy eating at him when Priest was mentioned.... Firepower #5 on top 200 billboard charts? Fuck...Shitallica Hard Wired crappy album reached #2 and Priest #5? Highest charting album ever even more than British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance... maybe not album sales but to reach #5 is insane for Judas Priest in 2018 when most people don't buy CDs. It just shows how GREAT Firepower actually is.

Hey guido,vail... a few weeks ago guitarist Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister was in Orlando and a guy from an organization called "Spooky Empire" interviewed him,so he sits there and bad mouths the Rolling Stones claiming thier too old to even play thier instruments etc...laughing at them AND said Saxon are like 80 years old hinting THEY are too old to play thier instruments AND called Judas Priest a "cover band" because "Glenn is not there" and says how he can always tell when an old band trys to put out new music live cause everyone goes to the bathroom during the new songs...

What a fucking Joke, not only that but when this guy who was interviewing him said "Yeah but Judas Priest has just released a great record that fans are excited about and reached 5th on the billboard 200 chart... and Saxon has released an album too and is opening for Judas Priest... then the few people in the audience gave a cheer for Judas Priest and Saxon really quick THAT'S when Jay Jay French called Saxon 80 year old men and how Priest is just a cover band...blah blah blah FUCK YOU JAY JAY!

Anyways on Blabbermouth.net Biff Byford commented on "Jay Jay" talking shit and gave an interview and this was at the end:

"If a guitarist wants to say, 'I've had enough,' then he's had enough. And he goes home and… I don't know… I don't know what the guy, Jay Jay or whatever they call him… He'll go and sit on the porch in his rocking chair with his pipe and slippers and fade away. We're fucking Vikings. We don't do that shit."
---Biff Byford.

Lofl Biff is THE MAN! You tell that jealous pile of garbage Biff!

Guido excellent photos from Kent,Wa bro man!! Thanks again to Budred for
trying to post them,I know there is a pic of just Glenn too... look at Rob just
give Glenn a hug and a kiss... these guys ARE brothers from the soul. Rob said
during the recording sessions of Redeemer Of Souls Glenn made him do many
extra takes ... Rob said laughing "Glenn can get away with that cause he's family".

Yeah I'd bet my LIFE that any show Glenn does not attend he is feeling too shitty
to even stand for a half hour...AINT NO WAY he misses 1 show just to get extra
sleep etc... this guy IS a non stop fighter!

Guardians & Rising From Ruins can mean one thing, but when I listen to it automatically
what I think of is how Rob,Glenn,Ian & Scott had to Rise From Ruins from the situation
when K.K. retired: We're standing as one... we're carrying on....."Rising From Ruins"....

And No Surrender I think automatically of Glenn's situation with Parkinson's.... all the lyrics
just SCREAM Glenn is a non stop fighter!!! And it helps me when I complain about something
stupid,I listen to this song and think of Glenn and how he's fighting this... such an inspirational song to me personally as No Surrender is my FAVORITE track on the album.

I don't think I've ever been more excited for Judas Priest than so am right now. Fuck those who say Ritchie doesn't belong in Judas Priest. Fuck those ignorant individuals.
Its ok for Dio to replace Ozzy.... it's ok for Brian Johnson to replace Bon Scott...yet Ritchie is invalid
cause he replaced K.K.?

Bullshit. That's like saying pretty much like The Rolling Stonesare NOT valid and is a COVER BAND because Ron Wood replaced Mick Taylor who replaced Brian Jones on guitar.

Rob Wood has been the Stones guitarist since 1976. So because he's not the original guitarist it's NOT
The Rolling Stones? It's all HORSE SHIT. Ritchie Faulkner IS an important elite guitarist as much as KK.

Budred THANKS for the thought just the same! Man I STILL HAVE GOOSEBUMPS from seeing Glenn walk out from behind that curtain !! But always KNOW it's "Killing him inside missing any show". His heart and soul goes out to all that didn't get to see him...and KNOW he was not feeling well enough to play that night at your shows.

Man Firepower out did British Steel what a record breaking year!! Lightning Strike is a modern day "You've Got Another Thing Coming".

My god man I can't imagine "The Metal God" walking off the bus and taking a picture...your right, what a gentleman totally!! That would be so awesome and so glad to hear that man. Yeah I know you've met him a few times but I'm sure it don't get boring!! Lol.

It's insane how good Rob sounds and sure without Glenn on Studio it wouldn't really be authentic Classic Priest, but since he IS still on the albums makes Ritchie an elite Judas Priest member, especially after 2 studio albums written along with Rob and Glenn...and 3 years left to go,he'll be a member of Judas Priest for "10" years a freakin decade!

Just love Ritchie man, sure Ken is OUR fav Always will be but it doesn't take away the fact of how important Ritchie is to Judas Priest. Anybody who says He's not is delusional. Totally different style than K.K.'s solos and riffs yet so right for this band. I couldn't imagine Priest ever getting rid of him FOR K.K. back.

When K.K. said he was shocked and stunned HE wasn't asked back to "HIS ORIGINAL ROLE" in the band... that really means booting out Ritchie and putting K.K. in.

Would be nice though to have K.K.,Ritchie and GLENN on an album and see K.K. And Ritchie play live with Glenn on the encores when possible. But for now this band is firing on all cylinders!

guido... hell yeah man...I read your post too about you getting your pics with Rob off the tour bus...totally awsome!! What a RUSH even though you've met him before and all... still it's THE METAL GOD! When Glenn walked out the place ERUPTED man...I too started celebrating high fivin some fans around me and I looked behind me was a 21 yr old kid that looked puzzled like "what's the big deal and who is the old guy with the guitar"?? Lofl. 99% of the place went nuts though...

Saxon was awesome too man,Biff and Co. Kick ass don't they? Thunderbolt is a very kick butt album, the nod to Lemmy and Motorhead "They Played Rock and Roll" off the new album is an instant Saxon Classic.... such an underrated heavy metal band.

We are very lucky to have Glenn on the Firepower album man that is HUGE and really how good Firepower really is... I have said Redeemer is the 4th best Priest favorite and Firepower top It.

Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel,Screaming for Vengeance,Defenders of the Faith,Painkiller.... If Firepower isn't equal to these records it's so DAMN CLOSE it's uncanny,so close.... so good of classic Judas Priest GEMS all 14 tracks that it' seriously doesn't get any better especially how each album is different... dude we are lucky to have THIS quality this late in the game. Pretty impressive more than ANY BAND EVER.

Guido!  Thanks man... YES!  This is the octave screams at the end he hits and man in that video isn' that insane or what?

Not sure why he can' reach the very FIRST scream in the song,I mean it' still killer and all man but it must be pretty difficult and usually at the end he almost reaches this octave but very rarely...

And yes this video is how the END of Painkiller sounded...almost album perfect! Just great!!

TOPIC: What are youo listening rigt now?
[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, April 16, 2018 10:52:13 PM
@vail... also I was referring to the both screams at the end of Painkiller, the first signature SCREAM at the beginning of the song he didnt hit like the album and can't hit often,he did in 2014 at the Tacoma Dome, last night his first scream wasn't as high( BUT STILL KILLER) as the last 2 screams at the end and idk why he can hit the 2 screams at the end in that octave as shown in the Prudential theatre clip but he can't seem to reach it that FIRST scream....

Well im sure it's a bitch to do in the first place lol. The Last 2 screams were spot on album like.... even that is rare...and it was kick buttocks!!

Yeah seeing Glenn walk out from behind the curtains was magical, and he kicked ass ... signaling the crowd fist to chest a couple times and back out at the crowd. Yeah it was awsome.

I'm not sure how to post videos from my phone but if you go to YOUTUBE and type in "Rob Halford leaving it all on stage" its live at the Prudential theatre 3/20/18

(guido if you can post this clip I would highly appreciate it when ya have time)

it'll show the end of Painkiller where he sings "Pain...Pain...Killa...killa...Pain...Pain...Killa...Killerrrrr"...listen to how HIGH his range is on that very note... And watch how out of breath Rob is right after he belts it out gasping for breaths of air ..... fucking A man his heart and soul are into this...

I know he can't hit the octave like this at every show but this little clip PROVES he "sometimes does hit the very same high octave range SCREAM in Painkiller".

He didn't hit that note early the first time in the song THAT HIGH in octave range in this clip at the Prudential theatre but at the Showare Center last night he hit it like THE STUDIO ALBUM damn near close enough...both screams in Painkiller and it was even better than the clip at the Prudential theatre too.

It was amazing! I saw the clip from the Kent show last night on YouTube Metal Gods ....at the end Rob hugs Glenn and gives him a kiss on the cheek as he did a few weeks ago...I missed it really quick cause I was high fivin' people around me!!

The energy from this sold out show was amazing, you couldn't fit one more person in the place and even Ian looked stoked...ha ha he didn't move much from his spot at my show either lol however his bass neck was swinging all over the place as he was INTO IT...Scott too.... just a superb show all the way around!  Edited at: Monday, April 16, 2018 4:18:14 PM

Holy Shit we just got out of the Showare Center in Kent,Wa here....SOLD OUT SHOW GUYS!!!! And to top it off....GLENN WAS HERE!!! FUCK YEAH!!

When Glenn walked out on Stage during encore the place UTTERLY ERUPTED and went totally BALLISTIC and fucking LOUD MAN what a RUSH to see him,I know in his heart he wants to do every show I'm sure, but how lucky we were to see him jam on stage and play Metal Gods and solo flawlessly, Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight and solo flawlessly....never WAS so happy to hear those tracks again that I used to tire of... WOW!

And again here in Washington State he nailed PAINKILLER and the SCREAM was so damn near PERFECT or it actually was perfect lol. I never thought he'd hit those notes but god damn it was fuckin killer! Andy was great had great stage presence and guitar parts and solos were excellent!

Saxon blew the roof off prior,Biff and the boys were in top form and there isn't a band in the WORLD better to open for Judas Priest! Saxon blew a lot of minds here and gained some fans with this performance.... a big thank you to Saxon!!!

Rob's vocals at 66 years old is fucking incredible... I know Budred's  show and Head Bangers show he may of been sick,etc... And he won't be perfect every night but god damn guys like in 2014 Redeemer Of Souls tour in the Tacoma Dome he hit that signature Painkiller SCREAM...i thought he wouldnt be able to either but he fuckin did man...hopefully there is a youtube clip of it even with crappy quality you'll hear he hits it. Maybe its the wet moist air up here idk?

I talked to a few meatheads after the show and even they said they can't believe how excellent he sang Painkiller yet other youtube concerts he doesnt nail it like he can  up here..idk I know it sounds like bullshit but by god damn on my mother's grave he hit the Painkiller notes the entire song!!!  I've got nothing bad to say here.

It was absolutely excellent man fucking A!!! And hails to Glenn Tipton for making it out here on a rainy Sunday night in the state where it rains the most ....

And what an emotional feeling for me having posters of this guy plastered all over my bedroom walls as a kid growing up in the early 80's and with his condition walking out on Stage and rocking out with the guys like he just refuses to give in to that ugly disease he's battling....

Glenn thank you we love you man!!!!

Fuck off to those 2 fucking dumb fucks....this place has been NICE without them. I'll bet they are floored they can't log onto the forum .... only can read what us TRUE Judas Priest fans are saying. They were anything BUT fans of our favorite band. Fuck those 2 fucking idiots. No more.

Firepower is so great of an album it's so close to Screaming For Vengeance....maybe not AS GOOD but does it really have to be? No. Not to mention it's almost utterly impossible to match that album even WITH K.K. Just love every track.... Glenn's slide guitar solo in Flame Thrower is absolutely kick ass bad ass and fucking brilliant! It's so Tipton it's great....all his solos...

First main solo in the middle of Evil Never Dies
The entire solo on Never The Heroes
The 2nd trade off solo on Necromancer
The 2nd solo on Children Of The Sun
The 2nd solo in Rising From Ruins
The 2nd slide guitar solo in Flame Thrower
The entire solo in No Surrender
The first main solo in Sea Of Red

All the GREAT GLENN TIPTON.

Plus dual harmonies solos with Ritchie in
Firepower
Lightning Strike
Guardians
Traitors Gate......

A big fuck off to those out there who think he's not on this album!

Regarding the metal blah thread (my account has a malfunction that restricts me to the newbie theads...thanks a lot "Murray").

I'm not going to the concert to expect to hear Glenn and K.K.'s signature style and sound. Not at all. I already know it's not going to SOUND like the original sound of Priest...when Glenn said he can't tour anymore that pretty much means the band is retired from touring etc... the tour we are seeing now is in HONOR and is in the SPIRIT and cellebration of Judas Priest.

Album wise...yes Firepower is is so close to elite albums like Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith that it's practically pressed up against one another in excellence. It's as CLOSE in quality as it can be without Mr. Downing in our band.

But again, these shows should be a cellebration of the spirit of Judas Priest and I can't wait for the 15th!!!

@Head Banger ... ya know I think I may of jumped a little too far in saying that Firepower is equal to any classic Priest album only because somehow I forget that one element is missing from the album that might of pushed it into equality and changed it a little too for the better ...... "K.K.Downing".

(Caught up in the moment perhaps?)

Maybe so BUT the album IS right behind Classics though,so damn close to albums like British Steel,Screaming for Vengeance,Defenders of the Faith and Painkiller... A.O.R. ..... it's so close to these group of albums it's uncanny. Ritchie's solos are incredibly excellent for JP. Yeah this album is defiantly standing tall along side those albums very very closely especially without K.K. Downing which is pretty impressive.

And watch the end of the clip Rob walks over to Glenn and kisses him on the cheek, then Glenn thinks about walking up front but stops because I think he realized he needed Rob's help...then Rob grabs his arm and helps him up front... it's just awesome.

I know some are "sad" to see Glenn like this but look past this terrible disease and see the warrior in Glenn ....

Taking medication, probably feeling like shit "diarrhea, head ache, muscle ache, nausea stomach Fatigue LACK of energy....

And through it all Glenn finds the right moments between it all or even during some of it to come out and blast some Priest heavy metal as he said,it's just unbelievable and shows how much he cares about US. WE LOVE YOU GLENN !!!!!!!!!!!!

Guardians/ Rising From Ruins is as good as Victim Of Changes,Sinner,HBFL,Hellion/Electric Eye....etc.

Very good album. Head Banger especially likes Flame Thrower. ME TOO!!

Love Bites? Eat Me Alive? Rock Hard Ride Free? All 3 from an album most claim thier best.

"Your on the run from the Stun of the Flamethrower" Yes Head Banger I AM telling you those are legendary lyrics "buddy". I think those lyrics are kick ass,you think not? Wow.

Let me see..... you say "Sea Of Red" is no better than "Lochness"? I'd be willing to bet out of 1,000 opinions 999 would say Sea Of Red is better so your opinion is massively in a small percentage which means NOTHING to me just saying....

You saying Sea Of Red is no better than Lochness makes as much sense as somebody telling me "parental Guidance" is as good as "The Hellion/Electric Eye".

Ummm. Ok . If you say so.

Perhaps YOU'VE lost your ear for Judas Priest Head Banger. That's all I can fathom but again,I predicted you wouldn't even like one track from Firepower so it's incredible you like any of it,really especially based on your opinions but they are yours and you are entitled to them.

"I wanna go,I wanna go,I wanna go....HOT ROCKIN'!!!!

What about THOSE lyrics "buddy"?   I suppose they are light years ahead of Flamethrower's lyrics??
I love " Hot Rockin'"    I think the track is LEGENDARY but because of it's lyrics I suppose your going to tell me Hot Rockin is SHIT?  I'l expect it but won't agree with you anytime soon.

I predicted you would NOT like Firepower AT ALL so just for you to put it in top 5 quality albums Firepower being #5 ranked...even #6 or #7 is shocking to me so it shows how good of an album it is ... (just teasing ya big fella) thumbs up....

Man I love Sea Of Red,I think its classic Priest at it's best and only reminds me of something that would of been recorded in the 70's like after Hero's End on Stained Class, not sure HOW that hurts the album HB it's definitely better than Lochness what A.O.R. left us with to end an album (shrugging shoulders with hands out) lol.

The title track "FIREPOWER " reminds me of Freewheel Burning/the title track Screaming For Vengeance/The Sentinel/Between The Hammer & The Anvil and a small tiny salt pinch of the title track Painkiller thrown in there is what my thoughts are absorbing while I listen to it but yet has it's own sound and style at the same time which is brilliant...

Lightning Strike is so good of a song it's instant classic Priest that's topped Hell Patrol and Redeemer Of Souls the title track... Evil Never Dies Chorus "Beware of Voodoo in the night....The Devil's got you in his sight".....REEKS of the spirit of "Devil's Child" and I love it! Never The Heroes is just absolutely great like Desert Plains,Worth Fighting For is....excellent track. Necromancer is so great it's equal to The Sentinel,Night Crawler,Demonizer and Hellrider! One of my favorites and Children Of The Sun is fuckin SOLID Judas Priest that has a small pinch of British Steel guitar tone with Firepower's style ..."MOUNTAINS START TO CRUMBLE....TUMBLE IN THE SEAAAAAYEAHHH!!! " Fuckin EPIC!!! One of the highlights of the album!

Guardians is so epic it does capture the imaginary image of Ritchie standing alongside Glenn on Mountain Peaks hair blowing in the wind with guitars in hand just classic Priest sound falls over the valleys below... and then Rising From Ruins is as good as any Judas Priest song ever written(I truely belive that it is)and solidifies the album even more. Guardians/Rising From Ruins = perfection.

Flamethrower is another gem that's got the spirit of Point Of Entry written all over it especially the pre chorus backing harmony vocals Rob sings "Nothing to rival This heavy load,Prey for survival End of the road..."...I can see Rob pounding his fist on the speakers singing the chorus to Flamethrower in the Hot Rockin video in my mind, total Point Of Entry with a Firepower style...love it!

Spectre is absolutely awesome and even creepier than Cold Blooded from R.O.S. even tops A Touch Of Evil ....very creepy track and very top notch memorable....Traitors' Gate is totally another Gem as it's incredibly classic and is also very QUALITY Judas Priest at thier very best,I love this track!!

No Surrender is another favorite and Glenn has created another "Running Wild" vibe and it reminds me of his message to never give up,even with what he's going through, the melodies are off the hook excellent and ahain, the lyrics are so powerful it's uncanny Tipton song writing at his very best, god I love this song thank you Glenn!! Lone Wolf is also so memorable and so catchy it sticks in my head as one bad ass song,it REEKS of classic Judas Priest and fits into the album flawlessly. I'm not speaking for anybody but myself but yes,to me,and my opinion Firepower is equal to any of Judas Priest's best albums. Long live TITANICUS - ULTIMATE GOD OF FIREPOWER!!
