Alberta has no wild rats. there are boarder patrol teams that go around hunting them. they can survive the cold fine, I believe they are around in alaska, and every other province and teritory, but not here. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Sunday, May 16, 2010 10:57:42 AM)
HB, you mean to tell me Cananda doesn't even have wild rats? I mean of all rats that would be the one to not be missed, but I was just wondering? Is it too cold for them to survive the winters there?
Joe, getting your older rat a little rat friend may keep them "younger" for a little while, and give the dear something to fuss over? I know older dogs get a youthful kick out of having younger dog around.

my mom used to have pet rats in england. cant have them here, the only rats permited in alberta are for medical experiments. otherwise we are rat free.
Ohhhhhh....sad news, indeed, Joe. I had a friend in college who had pet rats. VERY caring creatures for those who don't know.
My sincere condolences. RIP little Oprah ratt.
Woke up to a sad news this morning... one of our rats died during the night. I get so attatched to them and they don't have the longest life span to start with. She was around 2 years old and seemed in good health so it's a mystery to me. Her friend looks fine but I feel so sad for her bieng alone..
R.I.P. Oprah ratt xxx
